Old Madam Gu said seriously, “Is that the truth, or are you just saying that because your wife is here?”

“You should leave first.” Old Madam Gu said to Madam Yao.
“Yes.” Madam Yao stood and began to leave the room.

Madam Yao didn’t speak. She jerked her sleeve back and quietly left the room.
“Tell the truth!” Old Madam Gu turned to her son.
Lord Gu was anxious, “Mother, what I said was the truth!”
Old Madam Gu frowned, “Is it true then, that the child in her womb is not yours?”
Lord Gu froze, “Child?”
Old Madam Gu, annoyed, said, “She’s pregnant—over a month.”

Lord Gu’s gaze turned icy as he looked towards Lady Ling.

She crawled off the bed, knelt on the edge, and grabbed Lord Gu’s hand, “My Lord! I swear, I am not pregnant! I am not!”
Lord Gu coldly pulled his hand back, “Pregnant or not; don’t you know the truth yourself?”
“I truly am not…” protested Lady Ling, wrongly accused.
She was wronged far more this ti than when she had been suspected of poisoning Madam Yao, and instead was thought to have played a tragic trick.
She had always had feelings for Lord Gu, adoring him from the age of ten. In order to marry him, she had sched endlessly. How could she have betrayed him?!
