Chapter 1635: 790 Big Brother’s Protection (Second Update)

Two death warriors jumped into the courtyard.

Madam Nan said to Master Lu, “You take them away first! I’ll hold them off for a while!”

Master Lu replied, “No! You take them! I’ll hold them off!”

Madam Nan angrily retorted, “If you keep arguing, I’ll leave you!”

Although Madam Nan’s martial arts had been abolished, she was still a master of poison and hidden weapons. Her chances of success were much higher than Master Lu, who couldn’t even defeat Ma Wang.

“Hmph! None of you are getting away!” The death warrior made his move.

Madam Nan imdiately threw six darts, clearing a path for Master Lu and the others. “Hurry up! Go!”

Master Lu gritted his teeth, grabbed Gu Xiaoshun and Gu Yan with each hand, and jumped over the wall in one leap.

Unfortunately, the four of them didn’t get far before more death warriors caught up with them.

Eight of them blocked their path from both ends.

The leading death warrior said, “Hand over the two little ones, and we’ll leave you a whole corpse!”

“Pah!” Master Lu coldly responded, “If you have the guts, co at ! Let’s see what you’re made of!”

After threatening them, he whispered to his two apprentices, “Do you rember how to use the chanism box?”

The chanism box he ntioned wasn’t the half-finished one Gu Xiaoshun made, but a real life-saving item he crafted himself.

However, making it was extrely ti-consuming, and he had only made two, which he had given to the two children. He and Nanxiang didn’t have any.

The two nodded.

Master Lu lowered his voice, “I’ll hold them off. You two go separate ways, find a place to hide, and use the breathing technique I taught you to conceal your presence.”

He never agreed with Nanxiang’s impulsive actions, like opposing the Zhan Country’s royal family or coming to Yan Country to risk their lives. She was just their martial mother, not their real mother.

But when it ca to life and death, he was still willing to sacrifice his life without hesitation to give the two children a chance to live.

Gu Xiaoshun tightened his grip on Gu Yan’s wrist. “Got it, father.”

This one word “father” made Master Lu’s nose tingle, and a lump of pain welled up in his throat.

Usually, Xiaoshun only called him Master, and occasionally Father Lu.

This was the first, and also the last ti.

Master Lu’s eyes glistened with tears.

As people age, their eyes really do leak more.

He smiled and said to the death warriors in front and behind him, “Co on! If you’ve got the guts, co all at once!”

The death warriors didn’t waste words with him and charged at him with their swords.

Master ng, I’m sorry. I can’t save the kids with you around, so I’ll have to leave you here with !

Master Lu untied the ropes on his body.

Just as Master ng groggily woke up, Master Lu tossed him to the roadside, causing him to faint once again.

Master ng: “…”

Master Lu was no match for the death warriors, but he fought desperately and managed to carve a bloody path.

Gu Xiaoshun was initially holding Gu Yan’s hand, but suddenly, Gu Yan twisted his wrist and took hold of Gu Xiaoshun’s hand instead.

“Run!” he said decisively.

The two of them dashed out into the street, fleeing for their lives in the deserted night.

Master Lu, not wanting to worry the children, didn’t make a sound even as he was struck by a sword. He just gritted his teeth and swallowed the pain.

But so death warriors still pursued them.

“There’s a well over there!”

Gu Yan pointed at the open space ahead. “Go! Hide inside!”

Gu Xiaoshun was a good swimr.

He lifted the well cover and jumped in first. Then he looked up, wiped the water from his face, and extended his hand to Gu Yan. “Jump down, I’ll catch you!”

Gu Yan stood by the well, looking firmly at the encouraging face of Gu Xiaoshun. He curved his lips slightly and grabbed the well cover tightly.

Gu Xiaoshun panicked and whispered, “Gu Yan! What are you doing?!”

Gu Yan said, “Don’t make a sound.”

Gu Xiaoshun paddled the water, trying to climb up. “Hey! You get down here!”

“I’m the older brother,” Gu Yan said.

This ti, it’s my turn to protect you.

His body was frail, his strength was small, and he almost exhausted all the strength in his arms to cover the heavy well lid.

Then he ran off!

While running, he shouted towards another street, “We’ll go separate ways! You go that way!”

The death warriors who had chased them nearby decisively ignored the well and split into two groups to pursue.

Gu Yan kept running forward.

For sixteen years, he had been a sickly child, panting after just a few steps. Only after the surgery did he finally realize how easy it was to be a normal person.

He had never run so frantically before.

He felt his heart pounding fiercely, and a trendous force surging through his body.

Is this the body of a normal person?

So good.

He felt it.

“Stop! Or I’ll make a move!”

A death warrior stood on a distant rooftop, shouting fiercely at Gu Yan.

Gu Yan certainly didn’t stop; he used all his strength to run forward, like a child who has never eaten candy, wanting to eat his fill all at once.

It was as if he also wanted to run to his heart’s content.

The death warrior’s task was to capture him alive; it was about capturing, not inviting.

It didn’t matter if he sustained minor or major injuries, as long as he had a breath left.

Seeing that Gu Yan wasn’t cooperating, the death warrior’s eyes turned cold, and he flew forward, aiming a palm strike at Gu Yan’s back!

He didn’t know that Gu Yan was physically weak; this strike was enough to damage Gu Yan’s recovering heart again!

At the critical mont, the sound of rapid hoofbeats rang out in the night, almost simultaneously, a killing-auras-filled Red-Tasseled Spear shot like lightning toward the death warrior, piercing straight through his shoulder!

The death warrior let out a chilling scream.

The trendous force of the Red-Tasseled Spear was beyond the death warrior’s imagination, leaving him powerless to fight back; he was directly knocked over, landing heavily on the scorching slate street.

Gu Jiao rode the Black Wind King, her expression icy as she charged forward.

She pulled the reins tight, blocking in front of Gu Yan, and coldly looked at the bleeding death warrior, “Who allowed you to touch my brother with your filthy hands?”

The death warrior kept spitting blood, drawing a dagger from his waist, but before he could attack, he was stamped flat on the chest by the Black Wind King, dying instantly!

Gu Jiao pulled out the Red-Tasseled Spear.

Another death warrior saw the situation turn bad and started running!

He was going to find his companions!

But could he run fast enough?

Gu Jiao’s Red-Tasseled Spear, like a deathly blade in the hands of the King of Hell, gave him no chance to escape, piercing through his heart in an instant!

Gu Jiao retrieved the Red-Tasseled Spear and rode the Black Wind King back in front of Gu Yan.

Gu Yan looked extrely haggard, and the little tuft of hair on the top of his head was drooping, listless.

Gu Yan stared at Gu Jiao blankly.

Gu Jiao extended her hand to him.

Gu Yan, feeling guilty, handed his hand to Gu Jiao, who pulled him up to sit behind her.

Gu Jiao said sternly, “You still think you can act like a big brother?”

Gu Yan’s eyes flickered, and he hugged Gu Jiao’s waist, resting his head against her, shalessly saying, “Oh, my head seems a bit dizzy from running too fast… my chest also hurts… maybe my heart disease is acting up again…”

Gu Jiao closed her eyes and tightened the reins.

Her own brother, her dear brother, don’t get angry, don’t get angry…

Gu Jiao took Gu Yan to find Master Lu and Madam Nan.

Madam Nan had escaped from the small courtyard and was fighting alongside Master Lu against six attackers.

Perhaps this mission wasn’t too difficult; the death warriors sent by the Han Family weren’t that formidable, and Gu Jiao and the Black Wind King quickly dealt with them.

Madam Nan and Master Lu were injured but fortunately not seriously.

Old Mr. ng was completely fine, not targeted by anyone and perfectly safe.

Gu Jiao and Gu Yan went to the place where Gu Xiaoshun was hidden; Gu Jiao removed the well cover and pulled up the nearly climbing out Gu Xiaoshun.

Gu Xiaoshun was soaking wet, with water droplets even hanging from his eyelashes.

“Sis?” He was surprised to see Gu Jiao, but thinking of sothing, he then glared resentfully at Gu Yan, “You can’t do this again in the future! It’s too dangerous!”

In terms of running, could Gu Yan run faster than him?

He was the number one village bully in Qingquan Village!

The fastest runner in ten miles and eight villages!

If anyone should lure the enemy away, it should be him, wouldn’t that make more sense?

Gu Yan pursed his lips and humd, saying softly, “I’m the big brother.”

Tonight, Gu Jiao had used the National Master Hall’s token to get out of the inner city gate; if she had arrived a mont later, the consequences for everyone would have been unimaginable.

National Master, I owe you another favor.

Madam Nan and Master Lu were covered in injuries; Gu Xiaoshun and Gu Yan looked equally disheveled. In this state, even with the National Master Hall’s token, they would face rigorous inspection.

They didn’t have the city passes for the inner city, and it was impossible to enter the city.

As for the old mansion, it was no longer safe since the Han Family had their eyes on it.

Gu Jiao said, “Let’s find an inn to stay the night first; Madam Nan and Master Lu’s injuries need to be treated quickly.”

“It’s just a minor injury, no big deal,” Madam Nan said indifferently, “Jiaojiao, who were those people?”

Gu Jiao replied, “They were the Han family’s death warriors.”

Being targeted by the Han Family, they needed to find a safe place for Madam Nan and the others as soon as possible.

But where would be suitable?
