Chapter 78: Chapter 78 – Late on her first eting.
At Robin’s office, he received a call from Daniel when he was in a very important eting. Whereas since Daniel never called unless it was very important, Robin answered it and Daniel said,
"Robin, the FBI got Stanley."
"Who is Stanley?" Robin frowned and asked with irritation, while he excused himself from his executives for a while to his inner room.
Daniel was dismayed at how Robin forgot after tasking him to do a job.
"The guy Mara paid to ss up Matilda’s life," Daniel responded in annoyance.
Robin smiled after the understanding sank in. "Good. They should bring him over. I will send you a location to take him to," he instructed.
"Then what will you do?" Daniel asked curiously, not able to guess what Robin had planned again and what he intended to do.
"Nothing. I will send the location of the culprit to Devin and General Saint. Whoever gets there first, wins."
Robin sounded like he was having fun in a ga of chess.
He loved to create panic and suspicions and right now, he was loving himself for all that he was doing.
"Robin, I don’t know where you are headed with all this," Daniel complained. Robin has always been a puzzle to Daniel but this was even worse.
"Well, I so wish the general gets there first but I will give both parties an equal chance. I’m afraid Martin would try to protect his sister and sabotage things if Devin gets Stanley first.
"Then don’t inform Devin," Daniel suggested but Robin wanted to hit two birds with one stone.
"As I said, I’m doing this for Sabrina. I want Devin to carry the news about Stanley being found to Sabrina and her best friend. A pregnant woman should be happy at all tis, don’t you think?" Robin smiled and asked.
"I will wait and see what happens," Daniel said before he hangs up. He was just happy with the fact that Robin wanted Sabrina to be happy.
While Robin got back to work, joining his executives at the eting and muting his phone, Aria walked in with an ergency.
"Mr. Jewel, six of our subsidiary companies have signed a partnership with JC Minerals and there has been a request for an ergency eting between all the companies at the Crystal hotel. Should I add it to the schedule of your assistant?"
Aria knew that his boss never liked to attend those etings. He usually left it for his assistant but this ti around, Robin asked a question which made her assu that he was interested.
"When is the eting?"
"In an hour," Aria reported while jotting down a few things on her iPad.
"The crystal hotel is closer to
so I will attend it myself," Robin said directly. Aria nodded professionally and responded,
"I will send the confirmation to them."
"Please do," Robin agreed.
Robin rounded up the eting and quickly made his way to the Crystal hotel, eager to et with a certain soone.
Having arrived thirty minutes earlier, he was surprised to see all his six CEOs already seated around the conference table in the conference room.
Only two seats were remaining so Robin sat on one and left the vacant one which was at the head of the table for a certain soone.
"She is late for her first eting," one of the CEOs said in annoyance.
"Indeed, another one agreed."
Robin checked the ti on his wristwatch and remained quiet.
"She is not taking us seriously," another CEO said. Since their boss was there, they wanted to show him their punctuality.
Again, Robin did not utter a word and sipped water.
A minute to the ti, Sabrina walked in hastily, looking stunning in her black suit but also tired. She froze when she saw that there was only one chair remaining, which was at the head of the table.
The person on her right was also Robin. She frowned bitterly, before hastening to her seat. She was not sure that Robin would be here and since he was, he should have sat at the head of the table but did not.
"You set the eting at 11 am and you are late," one of the CEOs alleged as soon as Sabrina sat. In a world of n where she was the only woman, she felt intimidated since these were her partners and not her staff mbers.
She had to operate discreetly. Sabrina pursed her lips, about to apologize when Robin lifted his wristwatch to eye level and said,
"She’s not late. She’s still thirty seconds early. You decided to co early because you are not as busy as her."
The six n were shocked that their President was defending his ex-wife.
Sabrina found the statent funny since she knew that all those n were equally busy. She saw how her accusers lowered their heads and was grateful for Robin’s help but she did not thank him or anything.
Not after how he stopped her from dealing with Zayla.
She directly went on to address the nfolk at the eting, all dressed in black suits. If she had known they would dress in black, she was sure to have dressed in sothing different.
"Thank you all for making it on ti. This is our first eting and I am happy you could all make it. I intend for us to have it periodically and my suggestion, is once a month," Sabrina said confidently but the n around the conference table frowned and one of them asked,
"Miss Jas, can you explain your reason for requesting a once-a-month eting and not a bi-weekly one?"
Sabrina’s main reason was because of Robin since she knew that she had to work harder to gain their trust after agreeing to the partnership.
She was just not ready to be seeing Robin every two weeks. However, that would be a la excuse to give so she quickly crafted a different one,
"By then, I intend to give a detailed report on what your resources are being used for, and how you are going to benefit from it all."
There was a look of discontentnt on the faces of the six n present and she knew this was not going to be easy. Only Robin remained unreadable. Sabrina maintained a calm frontage but internally, she was so exhausted.
