Chapter 497: Chapter 497 - Will You Marry ?

Robert gazed at her with delight in his eyes. Despite the fear he saw in her eyes, she looked absolutely stunning.

It had been easy to overlook her special qualities when he kept his feelings hidden, but now that he had decided to face his fears, she had beco his greatest fear.

"Please, eat first," he said.

Giselle’s hands were trembling so much that the glass of cranberry juice she picked up shook in her grasp. Robert quickly ca to her rescue, leaning in and taking the glass from her.

"Let

help you," he said.

He fed her the drink, causing her cheeks to blush. When she regained her composure, she found him so close that she could feel his warm breath on her face.

Giselle’s heart raced uncontrollably, fearing that Robert would hear it. She quickly pulled away.

"Robert, you’re acting strange. This is your office, and anyone could walk in at any mont," she said, wanting the romantic breakfast to end. She felt that she didn’t stand a chance if Robert truly wanted to give her even a little bit of his love.

Robert remained calm, thinking about the best way to start what he wanted to say. "I made sure no one would walk through that door," he said.

Giselle lost control of herself. "Why?"

Robert’s expression suddenly turned serious, his voice stern. "Because there is sothing very important, I need to tell you, but only after you’ve eaten enough."

Giselle couldn’t bring herself to eat anything after Robert had revealed his intentions. "I honestly don’t have an appetite. You can tell

anything."

Robert forced a smile. It was easy to relate to her on a platonic level, but when it ca to romance, things were completely different.

"I’m more concerned about your health, so I’ll wait until you’ve eaten enough," he said, his tone softening.

His gentle tone moved Giselle’s heart even more, and she was eager to hear what he had to say. She had no choice but to eat, even though the food seed tasteless to her, due to her early pregnancy symptoms.

Minutes passed before she dropped her cutlery. "I’m ready."

Robert dropped his as well and wiped the corner of his lips. He sipped his grape juice and spoke seriously.

"Good. Giselle, I want to ask you a question, and I want you to be honest with ."

Tears already welled up in Giselle’s eyes. She could easily guess the question, considering Robert’s curiosity about her health.

Nodding, she waited for him to speak, but their mont was interrupted by a ringing phone.

It was Giselle’s phone, and seeing her mother’s na on the caller ID, she couldn’t have been happier. "It’s my mom. I have to take it."

Robert was disappointed but nodded, hoping she would answer the phone in his office.

To his dismay, she left the office. Robert felt uncomfortable and thought of a way to release the tension. He imdiately thought of Mark and dialed his number.

"How was breakfast? Did you like it?" Mark asked as soon as he answered the call.

Robert pursed his lips. "It was delicious as always. I’m just bored."

"Where’s Giselle? Didn’t you say you were having breakfast together?" Mark inquired, eager to hear good news.

"Yes, but her mom called, so I’m here alone, waiting for her," Robert replied, sounding miserable. Mark laughed.

"You sound annoyed."

Robert ran his fingers through his curly hair. "I just didn’t want any distractions, but I couldn’t stop her either."

Mark laughed harder, finding Robert’s behavior amusing. "Try harder, or you’ll be the only bachelor among your cousins."

Robert wasn’t moved by the statent, knowing that Mark was in the sa situation. "At least we’re in it together."

"Not anymore," Mark countered, grinning on the other end of the line. Robert was shocked. He was about to speak when Mark explained,

"I didn’t tell you, but Aliya stopped by the office the other day, and things are going well between us."

Robert’s mind was already on cloud nine. "You an you’re getting married?" He couldn’t help feeling a little late, but he comforted himself with the conviction that he had a good reason for not revealing his intentions to Giselle.

"No, I want to get to know her better. Unlike Giselle, I only t Aliya at the party," Mark explained thoughtfully.

Due to his experience with one-night stands, he was a little skeptical and needed ti to take things to the next level.

"So let

guess. You’re friends with benefits now?" Robert teased, his mood suddenly improving.

"No," Mark replied, but Robert didn’t believe him.

"Don’t tell

you haven’t fucked her since that night," he pointed out. Mark was surprised to hear him use the word ’fuck.’

"We made love. I won’t use the word ’fuck,’ and we’re officially dating, so she’s my girlfriend," Mark clarified.

Robert found it amusing and replied, "I’m happy for you. Congratulations!"

At Giselle’s desk, she was overco with emotion and almost shed tears. "Mom, you called at the right ti."

"What’s going on?" Aria asked, worried that her suspicions were true. Her daughter was hurting, and she didn’t know how to stay out of it, as Sabrina had suggested.

"He was about to ask a question, and I knew it would be about the pregnancy."

Aria let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding, rembering Sabrina’s advice about the pregnancy. She advised,

"Just be honest with him, Giselle. You already have us and even Robert’s parents behind you. No matter what happens, we’ll support you."

Giselle noticed a delivery guy passing by her desk, but she didn’t stop him because he was from Mark’s restaurant.

"Alright, Mom, I’ll call you when I’m done talking to him."

"I’ll be right here."

Giselle returned to Robert’s office just as the delivery guy was leaving. There was a new small jar of cranberry juice for her.

Robert had also finished his call, and as soon as Giselle sat in front of him, he asked seriously,

"Will you marry ?"
