Chapter 283: Chapter 283 – Robin’s frustration.
Devin imdiately recognized the woman, but he was taken aback by how quickly she had arrived.
"Laura. How did you get here so fast?" he asked, surprised.
"Sabrina was running late, so I wanted to check on her. I was on my way when she called and forgot to hang up her phone," Laura explained.
Robin, hearing the familiar voice on the other end of the line, interrupted,
"Is that Laura...?"
"Yes, Sabrina’s secretary," Devin replied seriously, not wanting to waste ti by ntioning Laura’s full na.
Upon hearing that Laura had reached Devin, an idea struck Robin.
"Let
speak to her," he requested.
Devin handed the phone to Laura, who greeted Robin with a respectful "Sir."
"Laura, why are you late?" Robin reprimanded, certain that if she had arrived on ti, Martin’s plan would not have succeeded.
Robin also considered calling the other spies in the background, assuming they were waiting at Sabrina’s office rather than her house.
He knew that no one expected sothing like this to happen in such a secure area, especially when she was with Devin.
Sir, I was waiting for her at the office, but when she was delayed, I decided to drive and pick her up myself.
However, I received a call from her while on my way, so I have been tracking her," Laura explained apologetically, determined to bring Sabrina back safely.
Robin was upset, but his main concern at the mont was not assigning bla, but rather finding a way to retrieve Sabrina unhard and ensure the safety of her pregnancy.
"Follow them and share their location with ," Robin instructed.
"Yes, sir," Laura replied.
Laura ended the call and reassured Devin,
"Don’t worry about the car. Soone will take care of it."
Devin wasn’t even concerned about the car, so he joined Laura and they quickly drove away, following the directions provided by the tracker.
They utilized shortcuts and increased their speed in order to catch up to Sabrina and her captors.
At the villa, Robin quickly dialed Daniel’s number.
"Dan, Martin has Sabrina," Robin said urgently as soon as Daniel answered the call. Daniel was taken aback and filled with distress.
"What?" he exclaid, his heart sinking at the devastating news.
Putting his phone on speaker mode, he hurriedly began getting dressed while speaking to Robin on the phone.
"I want all the airports to be on high alert. No one should be allowed to board any flights, and private jets should be grounded as well. We need to secure the subways and all other modes of transportation," Robin instructed with urgency.
"I’m on it, but where should I et you?" Daniel asked, trying to gather his thoughts amidst the chaos.
Robin, who was already leaving the villa, didn’t have a specific destination in mind yet, as his sole focus was to be wherever Sabrina was.
"I’ll share my location with you."
When he hung up, he imdiately dialed the general’s number. The general answered on the first ring, assuming it was related to Zayla and her father.
"Son, is everything alright?" he asked, his tone serious. Robin responded honestly, "No, uncle. Mara’s brother has Sabrina."
"What? How could you let that happen?" The general was greatly upset, fearing that this news would have a negative impact on Cobby’s health.
It was already difficult for the man to recover after losing his wife, and now hearing that his first daughter had been kidnapped would only make things worse.
"I was in Moscow gathering information on Mara and just arrived this morning," Robin explained, questioning whether the trip had been worth it.
But if he hadn’t gone, how would he have known where Mara was?
"Share your location. My n will be available to you. I’m out of the country, but call
when you catch the bitch and her brother. She needs to pay for what she did to Matilda also."
Robin wanted to share the findings with him, but there was no ti at the mont.
The only issue was Cobby. Robin wasn’t sure how he would react to the news, so he decided to wait until he found Sabrina. Alternatively, he could let Devin handle that part.
After receiving the location, Robin sensed that they were still on the highway. He tried calling Sabrina, but her line was busy, indicating that she hadn’t ended her call with Laura. So, he dialed Martin’s number instead.
"Hello, Mr. Jewel," Martin said in a mocking tone, though he was surprised to hear Robin’s voice on the other end.
"At least you’ve learned so respect," Robin sneered.
Martin was satisfied since he got what he wanted and just needed to return to the mansion, retrieve Mara, and they could leave the country for good.
"That’s only because I’m in a good mood," Martin replied.
"Martin, if you take Sabrina with you, your death will be miserable," Robin threatened.
Martin tensed up, recalling what had happened to Zayla and her father, even though he was unaware of the secret actions taken against them.
However, he reassured himself that he would remain safe as long as Robin didn’t catch up to him.
Once they passed that rock, there would be no signal, making it impossible for Robin to track them.
This was precisely why he didn’t think it necessary to take Sabrina’s phone.
anwhile, Robin had so news for him.
"All transportation routes are closed, and the police are on high alert. So, where do you plan on going?" Robin taunted him.
Fear clouded Martin’s eyes as he stole a glance at Sabrina, who sat beside him. Despite the disdain he saw in her gaze, he couldn’t bear to let her go after coming this far.
"I should just end it all, take her life and my own," he muttered into the phone, causing Sabrina to tense up beside him, fully aware that Martin had lost his sanity.
Robin felt a surge of frustration, but sohow managed to compose himself before speaking. "And what about your vulnerable, disabled sister? Martin, I possess information about her that would pique your interest."
