"Mr. Jiang's body was going through so mutation as soon as he woke up. His stem cells were rapidly converting into his mana particles," the doctor continued. "Based on his current readings, his mana reserves have already reached Tier Four. At this rate, he'll breach Tier Three soon."

"TIER THREE?" Myra echoed, genuinely surprised this ti.

A soft laugh followed, low and dangerous. "So he wasn't just disposable trash tied to Origin Group after all."

The call ended.

In the hospital room, Jiang Fei lay still once more, chest rising and falling steadily. But beneath the sedation, sothing new stirred, sothing that hadn't existed before.

After a long while, Jiang Fei's eyelids fluttered again.

This ti, when he opened his eyes, the fog was thinner. His head throbbed as if soone had hamred it apart and stitched it back together badly.

*Ugh*

A low groan escaped his throat as he pushed himself upright, muscles stiff, nerves humming with a strange, unfamiliar strength.

The room was not a hospital.

Soft lighting bathed the spacious bedroom, warm and deliberately comforting. Heavy curtains blocked the outside world, and the air slled faintly of incense rather than antiseptic.

Sitting casually on a chair near the bed was a beautiful woman, her posture relaxed, her legs crossed elegantly.

Behind her stood two towering robots, each nearly seven feet tall, energy blasters resting against their shoulders like extensions of their arms.

The woman smiled when she noticed him moving.

"Hello there, Mr. Jiang," she said gently, as if greeting an old friend.

Jiang Fei's throat felt dry. His heart began to pound.

"Who… who are you?" he asked hoarsely. "Where am I? What's happening?"

The woman didn't rush him. She raised one hand slightly, palm down, a calming gesture.

"Easy," she said softly. "First, calm down. Take a deep breath."

Sothing about her voice carried an odd authority. Despite himself, Jiang Fei inhaled slowly, then exhaled. The pounding in his ears dulled just a little.

Only then did she speak again.

"Good. Now tell ," she said, tilting her head. "You rember your na, don't you?"

Jiang Fei frowned, irritation flickering through the fear. "Of course I do. I'm Jiang Fei."

Her smile widened, satisfied. "Good. That's a good start."

She leaned forward slightly. "Then tell … what's the last thing you rember? Just tell everything..."

Jiang Fei's brows knitted together. His gaze drifted, unfocused, as he searched through the fragnts in his head. At first, there was only confusion. Then, like a blade sliding free from its sheath, the mory cut through.

His face drained of color.

His hands began to shake.

"I… I rember…" His breathing quickened, eyes widening in terror. "There was a woman. She wore a wolf mask. A wolf… standing beside her."

His voice broke.

"There were bodies everywhere. So many bodies." He swallowed hard, throat working painfully. "She grabbed my mother… lifted her off the ground like she weighed nothing…"

His chest hitched as the image replayed, vivid and rciless.

"She slamd her down," he whispered. "Again and again. I couldn't move. I couldn't scream. I couldn't do anything."

His entire body trembled now, fear crawling out of his bones.

"That woman…" he said, almost choking on the words. "She killed her. She killed my mother."

The room felt colder despite the warm lights.

Jiang Fei squeezed his eyes shut, but it didn't help. Another mory surfaced, sharper than the rest. The assassin's calm gaze. Looking straight into his eyes as his world collapsed.

"She leaned close," Jiang Fei whispered, voice cracking. "And she said…"

His lips moved soundlessly for a second before the words ca out.

"'You should have stopped when you were being punished for abducting Lin Fang.'" His fists clenched. "'You dared to send an assassin. For this… There is no forgiveness.'"

Silence followed his words.

Myra watched him carefully, her expression no longer playful. She rose from her chair and approached the bed, her movents unhurried. A frown appeared on her face. "Lin Fang?"

Jiang Fei snapped his eyes open and stared at her. Rage flashed through the fear.

"Where is he?" Jiang Fei demanded hoarsely. "Where is that bastard?"

Jiang Fei's body shook, but the trembling no longer ca from fear.

It was rage.

His teeth ground together as he forced himself upright, veins standing out along his neck.

The mana inside him surged violently, spilling out of his core and wrapping around his body like a second skin.

"Lin Fang…" Jiang Fei hissed his na again, through clenched teeth.

The na scraped out of his throat like broken glass.

The sudden pressure made the room react at once.

Myra took an instinctive step back, her brows lifting in genuine surprise. Behind her, the two towering robots moved in perfect synchronization, their chanical arms snapping up as energy blasters locked onto Jiang Fei's chest with a low, threatening hum.

She then raised a hand sharply.

"Stand down," she said.

The robots froze, weapons still trained but no longer charging.

Myra's eyes remained fixed on Jiang Fei, curiosity flickering through her surprise.

She stepped closer again, her heels clicking softly against the floor.

"Lin Fang?" she repeated slowly. "You know a Lin Fang?"

Jiang Fei turned toward her, his expression twisted with hatred. "Why wouldn't I?" he snapped. "Everything happened because of that bastard."

His mana flared again, cracking faintly like static.

"My servants," he continued, voice shaking. "My guards. My mother. The entire Xiao estate… wiped out in a single night."

His eyes burned red with fury.

"All of it," Jiang Fei said, almost roaring now, "because of Lin Fang!"

For a fraction of a second, Myra simply stared at him.

Then sothing behind her calm smile shifted.

So it's him?

Her mind raced, pieces snapping into place one after another. For more than a month, she had chased shadows.

She had interrogated people who barely knew Lin Fang. She had squeezed every contact she had inside the Hunter Association, only to run headfirst into sealed files and locked authority layers. She couldn't find anything from even the Hunter Association's records, as Feng Xiu sealed his information completely.
