He instructed Serena Yeats.
Listening to the caring tone and instructions, Serena felt a warmth in her heart and softly humd in response.
After that, she didn’t speak to him anymore.
Soon, breakfast was brought, and Serena quietly ate.
Halfway through, Elias Lancaster had already finished, "Serena, I’m heading to work. Call if you need anything."
"Okay." Serena watched him, thought for a mont, "Uncle, take care, and stay safe on the road."
Elias chuckled lightly, seeing her obedient deanor, and left for work reassured.
After finishing breakfast, Serena read for a while and thought about going outside to explore, curious about how big this place was and what it offered.
Nanny Livingston saw her coming downstairs and hurried over, "Young Madam, would you like to take a stroll? I can have soone accompany you."
The Young Madam is precious, with two little masters in her belly, nothing must happen to her.
"Alright, thank you, Nanny Livingston," Serena politely said.
Nanny Livingston was more than happy, "Great, I’ll take the Young Madam for a nice walk."
After an hour of walking, Serena didn’t feel very tired, but she hadn’t anticipated the place being so vast.
There was a mountain at the back; she wanted to walk more and see the fish in the artificial lake behind it.
But no matter what, Nanny Livingston wouldn’t let her go any further and led her to a shady spot to sit down.
"Young Madam, that’s enough walking."
Nanny Livingston wouldn’t let her walk back either, directly calling for the sightseeing car to take Serena back.
Seeing her nervous appearance, Serena smiled, "Nanny Livingston, I can walk back."
But Nanny Livingston was insistent.
Serena had no choice but to sit and wait for the car.
When the car ca to pick them up, back ho, the cool air greeted them, and Serena sighed in comfort.
The rest of the ti, she spent reading.
At noon, Serena had lunch by herself, feeling quite content.
Just as she was about to rest, her phone rang—it was a ssage from the supervisor at her part-ti job, asking if she was feeling better and if she could co in, as the store was busy today.
She thought for a while; regardless of whether to keep the kids or not, she needed to earn money.
So, she replied to the boss, saying she’d head over now.
As soon as she got downstairs, Nanny Livingston approached her.
"Young Madam, are you heading out?"
"Nanny Livingston, I have sothing to take care of outside."
Under Nanny Livingston’s persistent insistence, Serena got into the driver’s car, heading to her part-ti job.
The driver parked where Serena had instructed him to.
Serena quickly rushed into the hotel where it was indeed crowded today.
She hurriedly changed into her work uniform and started her job.
At 7:30 p.m., it was the hotel’s busiest ti.
Serena was quickly serving dishes, paying extra attention to her footing, fearing a fall.
She had a strange feeling.
Even though she hadn’t decided whether to keep them, she instinctively wanted to protect them.
"Serena, deliver the food to room 888." The supervisor called, bringing her thoughts back to the present.
Serena responded promptly and ran to the serving point.
She carefully held the dishes as she walked upstairs, but just as she was about to reach the room door.
Her footing slipped suddenly, her hand shook, and the dishes spilled all over the floor.
As she felt herself about to hit the ground, she instinctively protected her belly.
In the next mont.
A pair of strong hands caught her, and the expected pain didn’t co.
Serena opened her tightly shut eyes and looked at the man.
It was Elias Lancaster.
Elias was so terrified that his heart nearly leaped out. He had co for a business dinner and just saw a familiar figure as soon as he stepped out of the elevator.
He was just about to call ho to confirm when he saw her slip.
If he hadn’t acted fast, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Serena, feeling like a child caught doing sothing wrong, quickly stood up with her head down, "I’m sorry..."
"Are you hurt?" Elias asked anxiously.
"I’m fine... Um..." Serena began to say she was okay.
The next second.
A sudden pain in her abdon made her frown.
Her hand frantically touched her belly, her eyes in a panic as she looked at Elias.
"Serena, are you feeling unwell?" Elias was alard at the change in her expression.
"I... I think sothing’s coming out..." Serena said shakily.
Then she looked down at her uniform skirt, blood was trailing down her thigh, stark against her pale skin.
"Uncle... sob..."
Seeing the blood, Serena was so scared that tears fell down her face.
Elias followed her gaze, imdiately lifted her up, and strode out.
"Quentin, to the hospital." Elias called to the person behind him.
"Serena, don’t cry, we’re going to the hospital." Elias gently comforted the person in his arms.
"Uncle, I... it hurts..." Serena cried, "Will the babies be okay?"
"It’s going to be okay, we’ll be at the hospital soon." Elias’s voice carried an unnoticeable hint of panic.
"Uncle... sob... sob..." Serena said between tears, "I want the babies, I want to give birth to both babies..."
Right after saying this, Serena fell unconscious from the pain.
Elias’s heart tightened, urging.
"Quentin, drive faster."
At the hospital, Theodore Lynch was waiting with the doctors at the entrance.
Elias carried Serena out of the car, placed her on a gurney, and she was imdiately wheeled into the ergency room.
"My dear, you..." Theodore was so shocked that he trembled all over, the words he wanted to say stuck in his throat upon seeing Elias’s expression.
Elias stood by the ergency room door, watching the glowing red light.
Half an hour later.
The light went off, and the doctor ca out.
"Doctor, how is she?" Elias’s voice was hoarse.
"The patient was experiencing a threatened miscarriage, with low progesterone levels, requires bed rest, no heavy lifting," the doctor respectfully explained.
Elias let out a sigh of relief.
"Master Lancaster, don’t scare like that again, my heart can’t take it." Theodore clasped his hand over his chest.
"Chicken soup," Elias coldly looked at him.
"I’ll arrange it imdiately." Theodore hurriedly went to take care of it.
After Serena was transferred to a room, Elias sat by her bedside, looking at her pale face.
The scene in the car, where she expressed wanting to give birth, replayed in his mind.
He watched Serena with a complicated expression, lost in thought.
Serena gradually awoke, the first instinct upon opening her eyes was to sit up and place her hand on her belly.
Her beautiful eyes instantly welled with tears.
"Sob... sob..."
Elias quickly reached out, gently wiping her tears.
"Serena, don’t cry, the babies are fine."
Serena looked at Elias, sobbing as she asked, "Uncle, is that true?"
"Yes, really, they’re fine, just need so rest," Elias said softly.
"Uncle, from now on, I’ll listen to you, I won’t take part-ti jobs, I’ll just stay ho and take care of myself... sob... sob..."
Serena was genuinely terrified.
Elias consoled her for a long ti before she finally cald down.
"Gurgle..."
A sound echoed in the hospital room.
Serena lowered her head in embarrassnt.
In the next mont, a low chuckle from the man reached her ears.
