Katherine Sinclair’s disdainful voice rang out.

"Stop it."

The speaker pointed a finger.

"What are you afraid of? If you dare to do it, aren’t you brave enough to let people talk about it!" Katherine had an exaggerated expression.

Serena Yeats didn’t want to pay them any mind, so she closed her eyes and continued to sleep.

She slept dazedly, listening to her roommates’ various baseless speculations about her.

"Ring ring....."

The abrupt sound of a ringtone echoed in the silent eting room, and everyone looked at each other.

Their eyes seed to say, who would dare let their phone ring during The Living Yama’s eting? Are they courting death?

But in the next second.

Only to see Elias Lancaster, seated at the head of the table, pick up his phone, turn off the ringtone, and coldly say,

"That’s all for today; we’ll continue tomorrow."

After saying this, he walked out under the shocked gaze of everyone.

The eting room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

They couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed.

Elias Lancaster didn’t even return to his office; he went straight to the parking lot to drive to the university to pick up Serena Yeats.

But after picking her up, he sensed that the person beside him was sowhat downcast.

"Serena, did soone bully you?"

"No..." Serena’s voice was feeble.

She leaned her head against the car window, closed her eyes, and didn’t speak.

Elias drove steadily, occasionally glancing at the emotions of the person beside him.

Once ho, after dinner, Serena went back to her room.

Elias knew she might need so ti to get used to so things, so he didn’t disturb her.

Serena buried herself in her studies, trying to forget those harsh words she had overheard.

When she finally put down her pen and checked her phone, it was already nine in the evening.

She was surprised at how long she had been studying.

Days went by one by one.

Serena could see from Elias’s actions that he genuinely cared for her, which moved her but also left her feeling sowhat burdened.

She told herself she couldn’t rely solely on his kindness, nor could she let him down; she needed to study hard.

The room’s air conditioning was on, cooling the space to a comfortable level, making her reluctant to get up.

The morning alarm rang, and she opened her eyes, groggily reaching for her phone to turn it off, then got up to wash and go downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning, Uncle!"

"Serena, can’t you call sothing else? Calling ’Uncle’ makes feel old," Elias complained.

"Huh?"

"Then what should I call you?"

"Master Lancaster?"

Serena was puzzled.

Elias sighed.

"Forget it, just call Uncle."

Serena thought for a mont and muttered softly, "Elias.."

"Hmm!" Elias responded with a smile in his eyes, "It’s okay, if you’re not used to it, just call what you’re accustod to."

"Alright~"

The housekeeper quickly served breakfast, which looked appetizing.

Serena picked up a spoon and was about to eat when she caught a whiff of a fishy sll.

In that instant, she dropped the spoon and rushed to the downstairs bathroom, covering her mouth.

She vomited everything she had eaten the day before.

Her sudden action alard everyone in the villa.

Elias and Nanny Livingston quickly followed her.

Gently patting Serena on the back as she retched violently, Elias shot a glance at Nanny Livingston standing to the side.

"What was for breakfast today?"

Nanny Livingston was equally anxious, "Breakfast was shrimp and crab porridge, it’s normal to have morning sickness in the first three months."

Elias frowned; he didn’t know how to ease her discomfort.

After a while.

Serena finally caught her breath, raised her head, and washed her hands and face.

She knew Nanny Livingston was probably right; it was morning sickness, and the last ti she had thrown up was during hospital observation.

She understood that pregnant won could vomit, but she hadn’t expected that even the sll of seafood would make her react so strongly.

It’s only been two months; if this happens at school, what should she do?

While pondering this, a voice brought her back to reality.

"Serena, are you still feeling unwell?"

She looked at him and shook her head, "Much better now."

Supported by Elias, she walked out, with him always observing her expression.

Back at the dining table, breakfast had been switched to lean at porridge, and she cautiously sniffed its aroma first.

When there was no urge to vomit, she felt at ease to eat.

Elias watched her with deep eyes, as if contemplating sothing.

After a while, he finally spoke, "Let’s skip school today and rest well at ho, okay?"

He was worried about what might happen at school and concerned about her health.

Serena felt that as long as she didn’t sll anything strange, there should be no problem.

She shook her head, "It’s okay, just a normal reaction, and I don’t eat outside food, so there should be no issues."

Not wanting to make her upset, Elias nodded with a frown, "It’s about ti for your prenatal checkup. Why don’t we take the day off and go for the checkup today?"

Although Serena wasn’t thrilled, she agreed.

She sent a ssage to the school to request leave.

Then they got in the car and headed to the hospital for the checkup.

Along the way, Serena remained sowhat sullen.

Fortunately, it was the familiar hospital, with the most comprehensive facilities, ideal for a checkup.

Elias held her hand throughout, and after a series of examinations, both babies were found to be well, though the mother was too weak and needed more nutrition.

Since it was twins, it would be more strenuous.

Elias took note, vowing to have the nutritionist prepare her als better to replenish what she had lost.

After the checkup, it was just lunchti when they returned ho.

When the nutrition al was served, Serena noticed the portions were noticeably larger.

"Serena, you need to eat more, it’s good for your health."

Just as Elias finished saying this, his phone rang, and after answering it, he looked at Serena, "I have to go to the company, I’ll co back to have dinner with you tonight."

"El... Uncle, I’m fine, you go ahead," Serena hesitated to call him by his first na, feeling awkward, and changed to a more obedient tone.

Elias walked over and kissed her forehead, "Wait for to co back."

"Okay." Serena’s cheeks flushed, and she felt dazed, still not quite used to such intimacy.

After lunch, she sat downstairs for a while before feeling sleepy, so she returned to her room to sleep.

Without the alarm clock, she slept comfortably.

As dinner ti approached, Elias hadn’t returned.

Serena frequently glanced toward the door but saw no one.

"Young Madam, dinner is ready," Nanny Livingston’s voice sounded.

She dejectedly walked to the dining room, staring at the delicious-looking nutritional al before her, feeling as though sothing was missing.

Suddenly.

"The young master is back, dinner is ready."

Serena quickly turned her head toward the door.

Sure enough, the tall and upright figure of the man ca into view, and her sense of loss vanished instantly.

Serena smiled sweetly, her eyes curved, "Uncle, you’re back."

"Hmm." Elias walked up, ruffled her hair, and upon seeing the untouched food on the table, asked, "Why aren’t you eating?"
