Xuan Yuezi, Li Yi, and Good Wings were standing on a pristine white cloud, high in the sky, appearing as if they were immortals. As they glanced downwards, they saw a city beneath their feet shrouded in darkness, impenetrable to the eye. This darkness exuded an aura of death and ominousness, causing the powerful transcendent creatures around to flee, unwilling to draw near.
Moreover, the range of the darkness was expanding. Although the speed of its spread wasn’t fast, if it continued, many cities were likely to be engulfed by darkness, becoming lands of death and misfortune.
"Is this Tianning City?" Xuan Yuezi frowned slightly, unable to see any contours of the city.
Li Yi had Lan Ji double-check the coordinates, ensuring they hadn’t arrived at the wrong place. He said, "The city is already enveloped in darkness, and the reason is unknown. Xuan Yuezi observed briefly and said, "This darkness isn’t a formation, nor naturally ford; it seems like a manifestation of so power. If we can find the source, the darkness should be dispelled. "That’s entirely unnecessary; there’s a city inside, perhaps with survivors. If you make that strike, everyone will be dood." Li Yi imdiately stopped this action.
"Taiyi, try using the Dividing River into Land spell to see if we can split the darkness," Xuan Yuezi suggested.
Li Yi was surprised, "Immortal, can’t you perform this spell?"
"I don’t know Dividing River into Land. I dislike fighting, so I only learned the Cloud-Riding Technique and Dragon Subduing and Tiger Suppressing. After all, delving into such powerful spells is ti-consuming. The thick darkness was torn open by Li Yi’s strike, creating a gap of moderate size. Through this gap, he saw the city’s outline inside—it was the vanished Tianning City, and within the city, so places still glowed with firelight, suggesting the presence of so survivors.

Seeing this, Xuan Yuezi imdiately led Li Yi and Good Wings to cloud-ascend from the high skies and charge directly into Tianning City through the opened gap.

The darkness that had been split began to wriggle again, soon filling the gap.
The two landed on the rooftop of a tall building in the city.
Xuan Yuezi ford a spell, with a True Dragon coiling around her, transforming into dragon energy to protect herself against the erosion of darkness, while also sensing the surrounding situation.

To be safe, Taiyi, don’t absorb the spiritual energy here, lest the darkness invades your body, causing an accident." With that, she too pointed a finger, imbuing Li Yi with mana that transford into a crouching tiger on him, which then disappeared to beco a True Spirit shielding him.
"If mana is insufficient, Immortal can use this to restore mana," Li Yi, to prevent accidents, handed the dragon scale over.
Xuan Yuezi unceremoniously accepted it, "Alright, I’ll borrow this miracle just in case and return it after we leave this place."
They were unsure of the situation here, and even with her having opened two flowers, she dared not be overconfident.
After all, Earth connected to so many Otherworlds, with traces of immortals and gods, and unknown, terrifying creatures. These entities revealing but a corner were enough to threaten cultivators in the Tri-Floral Realm, and even enlightened ones were not invincible here. Thus, both Cang Erzi and she had been maintaining a low profile recently.
The only one being flashy was Wu the Taoist, because he was the weakest among them, making him the most suitable to be the vanguard to test the waters.
"Next, let’s use spells sparingly. The aura of spells is out of place here, and I fear it might draw attention from certain things," Xuan Yuezi’s beautiful eyes darted around, noting so hidden, sinister things that quickly rged into the darkness, disappearing from sight.
Li Yi didn’t speak, feeling an unsettling sensation under his soul’s perception, as if deadly peril pervaded this place.
Yet with a sweep of his silver vertical pupil, relying on the Spirit dium, no danger appeared.
The city remained shrouded in darkness, but the gloom wasn’t so dense that one couldn’t see the general surroundings. However, the streets were empty, abandoned cars were everywhere, buildings were desolate and silent, devoid of any living souls.
This city felt like a forsaken ghost town.
Suddenly.
Li Yi sensed sothing and looked down. Unsure if it was an illusion, he felt as if the building beneath him was a living entity, not just a structure of steel and concrete.
He lifted his foot and stomped hard.
With his strength, a casual stomp would easily crush the concrete floor.
However, Li Yi did not shatter the floor; instead, he received an odd sensation, as if stepping on a living being rather than solid ground, with a rebound like living flesh and blood.

A hideous rift suddenly opened on the ground beneath him, revealing crimson, dark flesh, and a sinister, enormous eye that started to move, instantly fixing its gaze on the unwelco guest, Li Yi.
Beside him, Good Wings, startled, cried and flapped its wings, imdiately taking to the air.
"Run!" Li Yi grabbed Xuan Yuezi, leaping with explosive force, catapulting off the rooftop like a cannonball.

The place he had been standing on caved in, revealing a bloodstained mouth full of interlocking fangs, which then snapped shut.
The power was formidable, generating a terrifying gust around.
If caught by this, even a typical Spirit Power Realm expert would suffer.
The two landed on the rooftop of another building nearby.
Li Yi stomped, ensuring he made a deep dent into the rooftop, confirming that the current spot wasn’t a problem before speaking, "What is this thing? A building or a creature?"
He glanced back, seeing the building had returned to normal, even with a flickering yellow light inside, as though nothing had happened, and not a single soul to be seen.
"Incredible." Xuan Yuezi murmured, her eyes flashing; "Such a peculiar creature? I hadn’t even noticed it before. Perhaps we should use the Great thod to flatten this city to prevent the evil object from spreading further. But for now, let’s investigate with caution and revive as many survivors as we can before making any drastic decisions."
"Amazing," Li Yi muttered as he read the city again. "Could it really be that the entire city is alive?"
"Unbelievable," Xuan Yuezi mused, her eyes glinting; "Could there really be such a unique creature? I didn’t even sense it just a mont ago, yet it’s drifting, vanishing into the darkness."
Once again, Li Yi took stock of the city: "Could it really be a living entity? This dark atmosphere is too heavy here, only when we’re close do we sense anything, but it’s hard to describe. It must be due to the Divine Bloodline.
There’s a sort of natural aversion to unnatural beings."
Xuan Yuezi offered a basic analysis, "Interesting, very interesting; such a unique creature indeed. I hadn’t noticed it at all until just now."
Once more, Li Yi examined the city, "This atmosphere is exceedingly heavy; this darkness you speak of truly binds us. No one should even attempt it; others might be lost further."
"You contacted soone nad Yang Wei earlier, and he went in ahead of us. Perhaps he was able to enter here before the rest, and if we manage to rescue the survivors and find the source of this darkness, we can then decide to use the Great thod to flatten this city," said Li Yi.
"In that case, let’s rescue the people first," Xuan Yuezi nodded slightly in agreent.
Li Yi remained silent, as his soul perception left him feeling jittery, an impending sense of danger perating the atmosphere.
Yet scanning the area again with silver slitted pupils, he saw no sign of danger using the Spirit dium’s ability.
The city remained cloaked in darkness, but it wasn’t so thick that the general layout couldn’t be seen; however, the streets were barren, filled with abandoned cars, and the buildings were eerily vacant, completely silent, with no one in sight.
The place felt like an abandoned city.
Suddenly, beneath his feet, a gaping maw tore open—a jagged mouth lined with interlocking fangs that instantly clamped down on the spot where Li Yi had just stood, as if by its own volition.
The ferocious bite threw up debris all around.
Li Yi quickly pulled back, narrowly dodging the attack, bounding like a missile to another rooftop not far away.
As Li Yi jumped, Good Wings let out a piercing screech, startled by the situation.
The building returned to its facade of normalcy, the monstrous jaws and claws having vanished like unsettling apparitions. Golden light glinted from behind windows where survivors perhaps lingered.
"Can you believe this?" Xuan Yuezi’s eyes flickered with disbelief; "Creatures so bizarre? I didn’t even notice it before. Perhaps you were right in your thoughts earlier; we might need to use the Great thod to wipe the city clean to prevent the evil object from spreading further."
Li Yi peered into the city anew, "This city might really be teeming with bizarre dangers."
"Then let’s rescue them first before making any decisions," Xuan Yuezi nodded gently in agreent.
Li Yi didn’t respond; he rely studied his surroundings, alert for any unforeseen circumstances.
