Li Yi left Ghost Street without delay, retracing the route Brother Tao had originally brought him along.
Despite having activated his Spirit dium abilities, he dared not change his path, fearing another perilous encounter.
The way was deathly silent, with only the sounds of Li Yi’s hurried footsteps echoing in the air.
His physique was more graceful than before, and his speed even quicker, as he wove directly through the deserted urban area.
In the darkness, Li Yi’s eyes shone brightly, allowing him to clearly see any abnormalities around him. His already night-adapted vision beca more unique, revealing things that didn’t exist before within his sight.
For example, he could see a greenish-black smoke drifting above a distant building, as if it was on fire, but without the Spirit dium activated, there would be no change to the building, no greenish-black smoke at all.
He could also always see so strange floating creatures drifting in mid-air.
Even more, Li Yi could see so buildings that only existed in the vision of a Spirit dium. These buildings were damaged and incomplete, of bizarre design, and didn’t seem like they belonged to Earth. Yet, they emanated a dangerous aura, deterring anyone from approaching.
"Is everything I’m seeing now the real world? But I can feel that as my body continues to evolve, my Spirit dium vision will beco stronger and I will see more and more. Right now, I’ve just entered this realm," Li Yi thought with a flicker of emotion.
He felt like a newborn, seeing the world clearly for the first ti.
"Good, I’ll soon leave the danger zone. Just past this urban area is the sealed-off road. Yang Yilong’s car should be waiting there," Li Yi thought to himself, quickening his pace.
However, just at that mont, he caught a glimpse of a shadowy figure out of the corner of his eye, silently flashing by.
Even though it was very secretive, Li Yi still caught a hint of it.
"What is it, co out?"
Li Yi suddenly stopped, calling out in a low voice, and tensed up his body.
All around was eerily quiet, not a sound to be heard except for the night wind whistling by. Besides him, there was no one else; other Cultivators had long since evacuated the dangerous area, as if the glimpse he caught was just an illusion.
But Li Yi didn’t think so, he trusted his intuition.
Moreover, Cultivators were most prone to relax at the mont of leaving the danger zone. If the dangerous creature chose this mont to attack, it would most likely succeed.
"Still not coming out, when do you plan to hide?"
Li Yi called out again, his eyes quickly scouring the surroundings.
Although he could see in the dark with his Spirit dium vision, it didn’t grant him x-ray vision. Nearby, the disarray of concrete blocks and broken buildings were plentiful, making it easy for sothing to hide.
Instead of rushing into action, Li Yi cald himself and stood still, learning from Brother Tao, trying to analyze the situation.
"The creature has been following stealthily and has not made a move, indicating that it’s not very strong. If it really considered an easy prey, it would have attacked imdiately without all this trouble."
"So, there’s no need for to be afraid."
With this thought, he took a deep breath, then his body slightly sank as he raised his fisted arms slowly.
Unconsciously, Li Yi took up the Boxing Stance his master had taught him before.
Li Yi held the Boxing Stance firmly, alert to his surroundings.
Ti ticked away by the second.
Everything remained as calm as before.
After an indeterminable length of ti.
Suddenly.
A muffled growl echoed from behind a protruding block of concrete.
Having lost its patience, the lurking figure began to step out slowly.
"So it’s that savage tiger," Li Yi quickly identified the figure, his eyes narrowing as he recalled the tiger that had pursued him into Ghost Street. Unlike before, the savage tiger’s mouth was covered in fresh blood, its protruding fangs hung with shreds of torn clothing—it seed that in the hour Li Yi had been gone, it had managed to kill several Cultivators, its previously shrunken belly now round and bloated, its gaze more ferocious than ever.
A sated Biao appeared to have stronger combat capabilities and was more fierce.
"I didn’t expect that after such a long ti it would still be fixated on . It seems like a fight is inevitable if I want to leave the danger zone," Li Yi realized.
This creature had set its sights on him. Now, he had only two choices: either to drive it away or to kill it.
Otherwise, he would never be able to leave safely while being stalked by the savage tiger.
Moreover, he had already missed the best timing to evacuate the danger zone and could not expect help from other Cultivators. He had to rely on himself.
Once he understood his predicant, Li Yi’s previously tense gaze beca icy cold.
A desperate madness and fierce will to survive began to erge.
The savage Biao growled lowly, its eyes fixed on Li Yi, its body slightly crouching, inching closer.
It had already hunted three Cultivators.
One of them even had activated their Spirit dium.
With its successful experience, the savage Biao had established its position in the food chain of this area. Now considering Li Yi its prey, it showed no sign of relenting.
Li Yi maintained his Boxing Stance, stable and balanced, his spine tense as a dragon, drawing strength from the ground and remaining vigilant.
He had no experience in combat, and it was his first ti facing such a Fierce Beast. Being nervous was inevitable, so he didn’t initiate an attack to avoid exposing any weaknesses, waiting for the opponent to make the first move instead.
"Stay calm, be patient, don’t rush. I’m no longer the sa as before. I’m sure I can handle it," Li Yi continually reassured himself, boosting his confidence.
The savage Biao kept shortening the distance between itself and Li Yi, looking for the right angle to strike.
One hit, and its sharp fangs would break the neck of its prey.
Man and beast faced each other.
Yet, as the distance slowly closed, the air beca increasingly fraught with danger.
Until a certain mont, when the distance between the vicious Biao and Li Yi had closed to a limit.
A sense of connection appeared.
Biao sensed the timing to strike, and with a low growl, it charged out instantly. In the blink of an eye, it was pouncing right in front of Li Yi, its mouth full of sharp teeth gaping open—just one tear would be enough to kill him in an instant.
"Now is the mont."
Li Yi also growled lowly at that mont, his eyes sparkling with light. Suddenly, a dull sound ca from the ground beneath his feet, and the solid concrete pavent cracked inch by inch.
Power surged from the ground, through his legs, knees, waist, up the dragon spine, before finally transmitting to his fist—his whole body’s strength twisted into one, solid and undispersed.
This was his perfect punch.
It was also his most fierce and powerful punch.
"Bang!"
Without a doubt, his Fist Power was complete, and the air exploded with a loud boom.
This punch, like a bolt of thunder, struck the underside of the Biao’s jaw.
The terrifying Fist Power was released, instantly piercing through the Biao’s supple fur and hard bones.
A beast’s cry of agony echoed.
The Fierce Beast, larger in size than Li Yi, was like a ragbag in a storm, swaying uncontrollably, before being sent flying and heavily crashing to the ground, where it rolled several tis before finally coming to a stop.
"Flung away?"
Li Yi was taken aback, "How could this be? My Fist Power was concentrated, not scattered. By rights, this punch should have pierced through its head."
But then, seeing his own extended fist, he imdiately realized, "It’s because my fist isn’t long enough. Just now, the mont I punched, I should have stepped forward right after releasing my power, to produce a secondary surge of power to shorten the distance, which would have allowed to pierce through its head, and even have the chance to deliver a second punch after moving forward a second step."
Following that, Li Yi had this epiphany in his mind, and he also realized the difference between practicing boxing and actual fighting.
Practice Boxing is rigid, fighting is flexible.
Master Zhao Ge only taught Li Yi how to practice boxing, and there wasn’t ti to teach fighting. If Li Yi had learned actual combat techniques, his punch just now would have blown the Biao’s head apart.
But now...
Biao’s mouth was full of blood, its lower jaw shattered, its fangs broken, but it was still alive—because it hadn’t hit the vital parts, so it did not die. It staggered to its feet, and now, when it looked at Li Yi, it no longer had the fierce aggression from before.
Its gaze seed much clearer.
After suffering such a heavy loss, Biao realized it was no match for Li Yi and attempted to flee.
"Thinking of running now?"
Li Yi reacted instantly, his feet pressing down with force.
"Bang!"
Another loud noise, and the ground cracked; he shot forward nearly skimming the ground like an arrow released from a bow.
With one principle understood, all could be understood.
If Li Yi could release Fist Power, that sa force could also propel his body to move quickly.
At this mont, the roles of predator and prey between man and Biao were reversed.
Li Yi, like a top predator, launched his attack.
Biao, which had just turned around, hadn’t run far when it was struck by Li Yi’s punch once more, the Fist Power releasing.
This punch landed on its back.
The Fist Power penetrated through the fur.
A clear Fist Mark indented into the Biao’s body.
The spine shattered, and the Fierce Beast cried out in pain.
Biao collapsed to the ground instantly, the lower half of its body numb and paralyzed.
"Again." Li Yi growled, his eyes shining as he flipped over and sat on Biao, exerting force with his feet, his body suddenly heavy as he pinned the beast down and then raised his fist again.
"Bang!"
Again, Fist Power erged, and the air exploded.
This punch landed on Biao’s head, and though it didn’t shatter the hard skull, it severely damaged Biao’s brain, causing blood to spray from its nose. Its eyes, which were clear a mont ago, were now engulfed by fear, and they quickly reddened with congestion.
"So that’s how it is, the Boxing Stance is rigid, but the punch is alive; as long as I master the technique of force generation, I don’t need to maintain a stance to keep the Fist Power intact."
As Li Yi struck Biao, many realizations dawned on him.
You don’t need to hold a Boxing Stance to deliver Fist Power; in life-and-death combat, who has the ti to pose?
"Be it punches, kicks, elbows, every part of the body can deliver force, as long as you can mobilize the body’s force and concentrate it into one, that’s what the master ant by ’understanding one to understand all’, now I see," Li Yi felt as if infinite strength had burst forth from his body.
His palm descended.
Anothere palm impression sunk inches deep into Biao, enough to shatter the internal organs.
His knee pressed down like a massive rolling stone, and Biao’s large body twisted, with sounds of bones cracking echoing continuously.
At this mont, Li Yi used his fists, palms, legs, knees, and elbows in a frenzied succession, attacking the man-eating Biao like a wild beast.
The beast, more ferocious than a tiger, now cried out ceaselessly, its blood spurting, the struggle gradually fading.
In less than a minute’s ti.
Li Yi, bare-handed, had brutally killed the Biao.
They say Biao is fierce, but now Li Yi was even more fierce than the Biao itself.
