"I’ve bought what you wanted, and also brought a few pieces of clothes, though I’m not sure if they’ll fit."

The next day, Zheng Yaoyao went out early in the morning. She first asked for a few days off from work, then imdiately went shopping for Li Yi. She bought two cell phones, then got a new bank card, and also brought a few new articles of clothing, although she didn’t know why she was being so nice to this Li Yi.

But Zheng Yaoyao felt it was quite a thrilling thing, being able to interact with soone from Otherworld.

Just thinking about it made her feel that her life hadn’t been lived in vain; in the future, she could count herself as sothing of a legend.

At this mont, Li Yi was forming a Treasure Seal with his hand, displaying the White Bone Temple Cultivation Skill, as cosmic energy converged around him. This energy was much more abundant than that of the Four Seas and Eight Continents and, with it being unpolluted at this mont, the cultivation speed wasn’t slow here. It was just a pity that this world had very terrifying fierce ghosts that cultivators couldn’t kill—a dangerous and peaceful coexistence.

It was an extre place.

If peace were ever broken one day, this world would imdiately turn into a hell where fierce ghosts road freely.

It couldn’t be considered a primary Cross-border existence.

After Zheng Yaoyao finished speaking, her eyes sparkled. She stared at Li Yi, feeling flabbergasted, because she saw light emanating from around his body, like the Milky Way, brilliant and mystical, making him look akin to a serene Buddha in a temple, peaceful in appearance, compelling people to want to draw closer involuntarily.

At this ti, she seriously took a good look at this man called Li Yi.

Young, tall... with a resolute and handso appearance, a straight posture and, most importantly, great skin without a single blemish, as if it had been airbrushed, completely unlike a normal person.

Li Yi was awakened by her voice at this mont, slowly opening his eyes and returning to full awareness.

The half night of cultivation had co to an end, and he had gained quite a bit.

If this continued, he wouldn’t even need to go back Cross-border to breakthrough to the Spiritual Realm. Though breaking through to the Spiritual Realm still wouldn’t enable him to fight against ghosts, at least it would awaken his Spiritual Sense, enhance his awareness of danger, and increase his reaction ti and physical fitness. It would at least slightly improve his chances of survival.

"Thank you for your trouble, but I didn’t bring much money this ti, so I can’t compensate you," Li Yi said.

"These things didn’t cost much, and I haven’t even spent all of the ten thousand you gave last night."

Zheng Yaoyao said, "Hey, Li Yi, how did you co to this world? Were you struck by lightning and then woke up here? Or did you accidentally fall through so kind of space crack and end up on Earth?"

"So things are better left unknown, especially since you’re an ordinary person. You wouldn’t be able to handle the risks," Li Yi glanced at her and said.

Zheng Yaoyao imdiately replied, "Then I won’t ask. But can you at least tell what your original world is like? That shouldn’t be a secret, right? I promise I won’t tell anyone. I swear... oh, I almost forgot, Earth Prisoners are naturally evil, and their promises are no more credible than farting."

Towards the end, she couldn’t help but giggle.

Li Yi stood up at this mont, taking off the Qiu Dragon Skin-made Flying Fish Robe, and then picked up the clothes Zheng Yaoyao had bought for him—a leather trench coat, a cotton-padded jacket, several pairs of sweatpants, and a pair of sports shoes.

"I co from the Four Seas and Eight Continents, a simple Martial Artist who practices boxing," he made up an excuse and then promptly started to change clothes.

"A Martial Artist who practices boxing?"

Zheng Yaoyao’s eyes shimred with curiosity, "What’s that? Is it like the martial heroes in novels? Last night I saw you climbing walls, is that why?"

"Sowhat."

Li Yi finished changing his clothes, then looked at himself in the mirror and felt that his current appearance should be low-key enough not to attract attention.

Zheng Yaoyao said excitedly, "Can you teach how to box too? I want to be able to climb walls just like you. I can pay for the lessons; I’ll give you everything I own."

"Just by looking at you, I can tell that you only want to learn how to climb walls, not truly learn boxing. Besides, with your aptitude, just the Mountain Shaking Pile would require standing for three years or more; then, cultivating Qi-Blood for another three years, continuously relying on various supplents, easily costing tens of millions. After that, another three years refining sinews, bones, and skin before you could barely consider starting.

After starting, you would still need to learn diligently and practice hard. To climb walls like , reaching the top of a building in just a few steps, you would need at least thirty years. But at your age, it’s already too late. After thirty, your Qi-Blood will decline, and Martial Arts Cultivation will regress instead of progressing."

Li Yi said straightforwardly.

"Ah? Three years and then another three? Nine years just to barely get started? And it costs tens of millions? Then forget about it. Even if I sold myself as a recent graduate, I wouldn’t make tens of millions." Zheng Yaoyao’s face fell upon hearing that, realizing she’d never be able to climb walls in her lifeti.

Li Yi subsequently picked up a new cell phone; he checked it and saw that the phone had been set up with a card and had signal in this world, making it a tool he could use to stay connected.

Then he put away the new bank card.

"Consider these things a temporary loan from you, I’ll return them to you after so ti," he didn’t want to take advantage of Zheng Yaoyao.

"No need, really, there’s no need to return them. It didn’t cost much at all, and besides, it was all bought with your money," Zheng Yaoyao said hastily.

"Accounts must be settled clearly," Li Yi said and then added, "Did you inquire about the matter I asked you about yesterday? About the Ghost Tar."

Zheng Yaoyao nodded quickly, "I did ask my colleague and learned so new information. It turns out that a Ghost Tar is soone who can control fierce ghosts. These people are terrifying and dangerous, capable of using supernatural powers."

"Controlling a fierce ghost, using supernatural power?" Li Yi’s expression flickered subtly, "Is that level of power sothing you ordinary people in this world can handle?"

"It’s risky, it seems that if a Ghost Tar uses too much supernatural power, the fierce ghost will revive," Zheng Yaoyao added.

"Fierce ghost reviving..." Li Yi pondered for a mont, imdiately recalling what Wang Qiao had said the night before. At that ti, Wang Qiao had ntioned that his ti was running out.

This "running out of ti" was probably what Zheng Yaoyao ant by the revival of the fierce ghost.

Once a Ghost Tar’s fierce ghost revived, they were most likely to die, so did that an ghost tars in this world were using their lives to exchange for a short burst of terrifying supernatural power?

Afterward, Ghost Tars would rely on that terrifying supernatural power to fight against fierce ghosts and handle supernatural incidents, thereby maintaining peace in the world?

If that’s the case, then being a Ghost Tar really is a despairing pathway of cultivation.

"It seems that the cultivation system of this world is of no use to ; it’s not only unlearnable but even touching it is out of the question," Li Yi thought to himself, shaking his head inwardly. He would never beco a Ghost Tar.

Ghost Tars live such short lives, while as an Evolver, he had a lifespan of at least two hundred years to start with. So what if the supernatural power was terrifying? Life is nothing if it’s not long-lived.

"So what I need to do now is to survive these three months, wait for the Cross-border gate to open next ti, and then leave this place, anwhile reporting this world’s dangerous intelligence to the Cross-border Organization," he understood what he had to do next.

It was simple.

Survival.

The ghosts in this world are too terrifying, and since he refuses to beco a Ghost Tar, it ans he has no ans to fight against fierce ghosts. If he encounters sothing similar again, he is likely to die miserably, so it’s better to leave this place honestly and cross-border into other worlds later on.

"Hey, what are you thinking about?" Zheng Yaoyao saw Li Yi lost in thought and waved her hand in front of him.

Li Yi said, "I’ll stay here for a few days and then I will leave. During this ti, pretend I don’t exist. Continue with your life and work, I won’t disturb you."

Then he picked up his phone and backpack and went out to the balcony.

He took out a locator from his backpack. This locator could not only be used for positioning but also for communicating simple text ssages between teammates, but it couldn’t be used for phone chats.

Li Yi sent out his information and at the sa ti gave out his mobile number to the others.

About ten minutes passed.

Imdiately, his phone rang, and a text ssage ca through.

"I am Qin Bing, this is my cell phone number." Qin Bing had also managed to get a new phone.

"Li Yi, I am Tao Yuan." Soon, Tao Yuan also texted.

The three of them successfully got in touch and imdiately started talking to each other.

"How’s the situation on your side?" Li Yi asked.

"I’ve left Dazhuang City, now I’m at a highway rest stop, currently very safe," Qin Bing said.

"I got a car, took Zhang Jing outside of Dazhuang City to rest under a bridge. Zhang Jing is injured, but it’s nothing serious, just needs so rest. Li Yi, how is Xu Qiui?" Tao Yuan asked.

Li Yi imdiately responded, "Her injuries were too severe, couldn’t save her, she died last night. I cremated her body and erased all traces to prevent people of this world from discovering it."

"Xu Qiui is dead?" The other two fell silent for a mont.

Li Yi then said, "I think I’ve figured out the cultivation system of this world, let tell you what I know..." He proceeded to share the information he had acquired about Ghost Tars.

The others shuddered upon hearing it.

"Ghosts that can’t be killed? People who control fierce ghosts? How has such a world managed to sustain and prosper? Shouldn’t it have been wiped out long ago?" Qin Bing was shocked. He couldn’t imagine how such a brutal world had managed to develop into a civilized and peaceful society.

Tao Yuan spoke gravely, "It looks like we can’t stay in this world for long. We must leave quickly once the ti cos. I don’t want to be targeted by ghosts, nor do I want to beco one of those short-lived Ghost Tars. But one thing bothers . Last night, I also t that guy nad Wang Qiao. He told us to deliver a ssage three days later. Judging by his attitude, it doesn’t seem like a good job."

"Let’s not et up these few days. We’ll see how things go after three days. There are still two days left. If nothing happens during this ti, it’s for the best. If sothing does happen, at least we won’t be caught all at once, and so of us may survive," Li Yi advised.

"Naturally."

"Makes sense."

The two agreed there was no problem with the plan.
