Li Yi fell into a coma that lasted a full ten days.
If not for his vital signs being completely normal, the doctors would have thought he had beco vegetative. To ensure his swift recovery, the training base’s doctors even took special care of him, administering many high-quality dicines. Without them, he wouldn’t have been able to wake so soon.
Li Yi felt as though he had just had a very long sleep. On waking, his mind was clear, his body strong, and he felt powerful all over.
"Am I in the hospital?"
Looking around at the familiar setup, he understood that he was once again in the hospital ward of the training base. Glancing at the ti on his phone, he was surprised to find he had been unconscious for a whole ten days.
"It’s been ten days? I thought I’d be out for just a day or two at most. But a long period of recuperation has its advantages. At least my soul’s injury has healed, and I’m in even better shape than before. Besides, my body has fully recovered, and it survived the side effects of the Blood Burning Technique without issue."
With his eyes closed, Li Yi tried to regulate his Qi-Blood and gauge the state of his body.
Aside from his Martial Arts Cultivation dropping back to the peak of the Blood Refining Realm, everything else was good, even better than before.
This is one of the benefits of re-cultivating Martial Arts.
With the Qi-Blood dispersed throughout his body, the evolution of his physique accelerated. It was just unfortunate that he hadn’t practiced ditation over the past ten days; otherwise, he might have evolved to the Spiritual Realm by leveraging the White Bone Temple Cultivation Skill.
"Although I’ve lost ten days of cultivation ti, my body is still in an evolving state. My vision, hearing, even my strength are all beyond what they were before the coma, and I seem to have developed a subtle sense of sothing." With a stir of thought, Li Yi looked towards the door.
Several seconds passed before the sound of footsteps could be heard, followed by a nurse who ca in.
"Mr. Li, you’ve woken up? That’s great, I’ll go notify the doctor right away," the nurse said with joy upon seeing Li Yi awake, then quickly left.
Li Yi didn’t speak. He was still imrsed in that special sense he had just experienced.
This sense wasn’t inspiration.
Inspiration is an extension of the five senses, limited in range and easily obstructed, but the sense he had just felt was almost like a premonition. Even before the nurse arrived, he sensed soone was coming.
"Is this Spiritual Sense?" Li Yi silently pondered.
However, his perception was not sharp. It worked in simple surroundings but would not manifest in complex ones.
This indicated that his body was evolving toward the Spiritual Realm, just lacking so cultivation. If he continued to practice, it wouldn’t be long before he beca a master of Spiritual Perception, and that intermittent sensing would transform into full Spiritual Sense.
After so consideration, he figured he needed at least another half a month of dedicated cultivation to break through.
In this ti, he believed the Qi-Blood he accumulated would be sufficient to open the nine acupoints, allowing him to break through to the peak of Qi Cultivation once again. Coupled with the strength of the Spiritual Realm, it might bring unexpected surprises, as the world had never seen a Qi Cultivation master with Spiritual Perception.
While he pondered, the doctor and an assistant hurried to the ward.
The doctor didn’t take Li Yi’s awakening lightly and perford a thorough checkup.
"Your body is in very good condition, there are no problems, and you can be discharged at any ti."
"Thank you for your trouble again, Doctor," Li Yi said.
"You’re welco. It’s my job," the doctor replied. "You’ve been unconscious for a long ti and your body was severely depleted. Rest more in the coming days, try not to take on any missions, and avoid fighting with others. Also, refrain from using so dications. Your body was almost at its limit, and although it’s recovered now, the human body’s mysteries are complex. Sotis, even if it looks alright, that doesn’t guarantee it’s fine."
"Thanks for the advice, Doctor. I understand," Li Yi nodded.
"That’s good. Rest well, and call if you need anything," the doctor said a few words and then left.
Li Yi now sowhat understood that, in the terms of the Four Seas and Eight Continents, he had suffered a significant loss to his vitality and needed proper recuperation.
However, he didn’t plan to keep lying down. After discussing his discharge with the nurse, he prepared to leave the training base and go ho.
But as he passed by the training base, he discovered many people with inspiration and Spiritual Evolutionists within the base. So looked familiar; he had seen them a few tis in the old city district during missions. Among them were Wu Xiu, a Spiritual Perception Master from the Cultivator Association, Ning Wu’s cousin Yu Chuan, and Zhao Lingfu, who had once joined his team...
These people likely weren’t from the investigation bureau. He wondered why they were here.
However, these Spiritual Perception Masters seed to be convening to discuss so matter at the mont.
When Li Yi approached, they beca aware of his presence and imdiately stopped their conversation with a change in their expressions, all uniformly looking at him. Although they all greeted him with smiles, there was a hint of deep wariness in their eyes.
Not one of the Spiritual Perception Masters who had returned from the old city district was without fear of Li Yi.
Behind him stood an unntionable unknown entity, and although it might be said that this person was possibly Li Yi’s mother, this was only an outward appearance. The true root cause was uncertain to anyone, and no one dared to investigate. They could only keep it as a secret in the depths of their hearts.
"Li Yi," Zhao Lingfu spoke at that mont, "you have finally regained consciousness. You were out for a quite a while this ti. How are you feeling? Nothing wrong, I hope."
"Everything is normal. But why are all of you at the training base?" Li Yi asked, curious.
Zhao Lingfu smiled and said, "Old city district, rember the ’Exorcism Sword’ task? Perforrs can earn a spot in the Investigator Bureau’s Mysterious Object Cultivation Room. I was lucky enough to get a room, and from now on, I can use the Mysterious Object Cultivation Room for cultivation, but there are so extra conditions."
"Wu Xiu and Yu Chuan are in the sa boat; we were just discussing how to break free from the Miracle Illusion Realm."
Once one enters the influence range of the Bone Mural’s energy, illusions will manifest. To utilize the Mysterious Object for cultivation, one must disrupt the illusion. So far, there aren’t many cultivators who have managed to do this.
Li Yi said, "The Energy Field of this incomplete wonder in the training base has a unique effect. If one can see through the illusion, it can significantly increase the Cultivator’s Cultivation Value. Before, Master Pete managed to break free from the illusion, raising his Cultivation Value to over five hundred percent, which is quite terrifying. Thus, I think this illusion is a great opportunity for progress and should not be taken lightly. It’s best to rely on one’s own character."
"You have a point. I feel the sa way. Rather than a brief period of cultivation, it’s far more crucial to raise Cultivation Value by overcoming challenges," Zhao Lingfu nodded. "With an increased Cultivation Value, the speed of evolution will be faster, and any loss can be quickly recovered."
"Indeed, the real treasure of the Mysterious Object Cultivation Room here is not the pure Energy Field but the tempering of one’s character and the increase in Cultivation Value. However, seeing through that illusion is indeed challenging. I plan to stay here for a while to cultivate with the help of the Mysterious Object," Yu Chuan added seriously.
He was supposed to leave Tianchang City after completing his task, but he didn’t expect the Investigator Bureau to reward him with a Mysterious Object Cultivation Room.
With such an opportunity presented to him, he couldn’t bear to leave.
However, his cousin Ning Wu was sent away because he didn’t want her to stay here—not just because of Li Yi’s presence, but also because Ning Wu had offended many people here. Staying would do her more harm than good.
"It looks like quite a few people got spots in the Mysterious Object Cultivation Room this ti," Li Yi noted.
"Indeed, there are quite a few—in total, fifteen people got the Mysterious Object Cultivation Room spots. Additionally, Li Shaqing from the Cultivator Association has been confird to join the Golden Academy, becoming a Cross-border," Zhao Lingfu said, frowning slightly. "He will set off in a few days, but the two internal spots within the Investigator Bureau have yet to be determined."
At this point, he continued, "I think one of those spots might be yours, Li Yi, but it’s best to consult with Zhang Lei to see what he has to say."
Li Yi’s expression changed slightly; he had just rembered this matter.
This ti, Tianchang City had a total of three special enrollnt spots, two belonging to the Investigator Bureau and one to the Cultivator Association.
The Cultivator Association’s most likely candidates were originally Li Shaqing and Yang Yilong, but after Yang Yilong’s death by Li Yi’s hands, it naturally fell into Li Shaqing’s lap.
As for the Investigator Bureau... that indeed required so inquiry.
Li Yi felt that he had completed several tasks recently and had made many contributions, which might give him a chance.
"I’m going to inquire about it. Continue with your cultivation; I won’t disturb you any longer."
With matters weighing on his mind, he didn’t linger and quickly left the training base.
On the way, he phoned Zheng Gong to inquire about the slots.
"Li Yi, the reason the Investigator Bureau has been delaying the announcent is because of you. Since you hadn’t woken up, the matter was put on hold. But, Zhang Lei, the captain, told that if you woke up, you should imdiately co to the Investigator Bureau to see him, as he has sothing to discuss with you," Zheng Gong said over the phone.
"Right now, the captain should be at the Investigator Bureau, and I think you should make a trip there."
"Alright, I understand," Li Yi hung up the phone and imdiately headed for the Investigator Bureau.
He was quite concerned about the spot. If he could smoothly enter the Golden Academy, his future would at least have so security, considering it would make him a Cross-border.
Traveling to a new world would help both his cultivation and growth imnsely, and most importantly, it would enable him to avoid the Sky Tipping incident.
Although Li Yi had mastered the thod to travel to the Four Seas and Eight Continents, the universe’s energy there was sparse and not especially conducive to his cultivation. Moreover, that world had issues with ghostly beings shortening people’s lifespans. Without a resolution to that problem, the lifespan of an ordinary person wouldn’t be long—a significant drawback indeed.
