As dusk fell,
Li Yi returned to the training base once again.
However, his mind was still pondering over the matter of Ning Wu, as it made Li Yi realize that those criminals wouldn’t turn over a new leaf just because the Investigative Bureau gave them a chance to earn a reduced sentence. These people were potential dangers, and there was a high likelihood they would commit cris again in the future.
He arrived at the training base’s internal hospital.
After asking a nurse, he learned that Lin Yue was resting in ward one.
He was quite familiar with that ward, because he had spent a considerable amount of ti lying there when he was injured before; unexpectedly, now it was Sister Lin’s turn.
Soon,
Li Yi reached the door of the ward and knocked.
"Who is it?" Lin Yue’s spirited voice ca from inside, which indicated that she was recovering quite well without any serious issues.
"Sister Lin, it’s , Li Yi."
"Li Yi?"
The next mont, a figure swiftly flashed by, and then the door opened. Lin Yue, wearing a patient’s gown and with her large eyes wide open, looked at Li Yi in surprise and delight. Then she excitedly hugged him and laughed,
"Where have you been, you rascal, leaving worried for such a long ti."
"Sister Lin, stop it, I can hardly breathe." Li Yi felt affectionately suffocated.
Lin Yue had no reservations about Li Yi, cheerfully saying, "So now you know to co and visit ? Why didn’t you tell when you were heading to the danger zone? Leaving all alone, quite typical of you."
"Sister Lin, I didn’t do it on purpose. I really had sothing that required a trip to the danger zone. Sister Lin, I heard you killed Wei Bin, is that true?" Li Yi’s voice ca from her embrace.
As soon as Wei Bin was ntioned, Lin Yue seed a bit annoyed as she released Li Yi and said, "I was the one who killed him. That guy was a real nace. He barged into the training base and started a killing spree, even trying to seize mysterious objects. I was cultivating in the Mysterious Object Cultivation Room when I heard the commotion and ended up in a fierce battle with him."
"Wei Bin was indeed worthy of being a wanderer from the Ruined District. His strength was truly formidable. I had just had a breakthrough in Spiritual Sense a few days ago and was at a disadvantage from the first exchange. I nearly got killed by his Guiding Skill, but luckily I managed to adjust in ti. Using the Boxing Techniques you taught , we fought hard. After a protracted battle, once I dragged it out to the point where his Guiding Skill reached its limit and its energy dissipated, I won with one punch and smashed his head."
Even though it was a simple sentence, Li Yi could feel the danger involved.
Sister Lin had just made a breakthrough in Spiritual Sense and was fighting a life-and-death battle with Wei Bin, who had mastered the Guiding Skill. Normally, it would be challenging to defeat him without paying a heavy price.
"Haha, but speaking of it, Wei Bin died quite unjustly. He didn’t know that I also learned the Guiding Skill. Although I didn’t master it, I knew its drawbacks — it’s hard to sustain the energy flow for a long ti. So, when facing a cultivator with Guiding Skill, you can’t seek a quick victory; you must drag it out until their energy is exhausted and their strength falls drastically. That’s when you can turn the tables."
Lin Yue had a strong heart. Now, as she recalled that battle, she wasn’t scared after the fact but instead conveyed her excitent, almost as though she wanted to boast about her achievents to Li Yi.
Li Yi nodded profoundly, "Sister Lin is right. We have the Boxing Techniques that give us the foundation for prolonged battles. The Guiding Skill expends the body’s Cosmic Energy for a short burst of strength but isn’t suitable for an extended fight. Knowing this gives us the key to victory."
"That’s right. I’ve gained a lot from this battle and now feel confident about facing Yang Yilong in the future," Lin Yue said proudly.
Just having had a breakthrough, to have dispatched a Spiritually Sensed individual was an achievent worth bragging about.
"Yang Yilong has been released and is currently hunting Extraordinary Creatures in the danger zone. I guess he won’t have ti to seek revenge on us anyti soon, but we still have to be prepared," Li Yi said.
"Now that I am of Spiritual Sense, I’m not afraid if he cos looking for trouble. Speaking of which, Li Yi, where have you been this ti? You’ve been gone for over twenty days; I was worried sothing happened to you," Lin Yue then asked with concern.
Li Yi said, "I went to Ghost Street for so training. Because I was cultivating for so ti, that’s why I got held up."
He didn’t ntion the existence of Four Seas and Eight Continents, given the complexity involved.
"I see, no wonder I feel like your strength has increased again, and you seem to have a heavier aura of killing intent..." Lin Yue nodded in understanding.
"Oh, I had so good fortune during my training journey and brought back so big dicine that doesn’t belong to our world, which is great for healing wounds..." Li Yi imdiately took out an elixir and then also produced two white Ghost Bamboos.
"Elixirs? I’ve seen them before, but they didn’t look like this." Lin Yue lifted the elixir to her nose and slled it, feeling invigorated and comfortable throughout her body.
It was undoubtedly an exceptional elixir; consuming it would be trendously beneficial for her health.
She curiously stuck out her tender tongue and gave it a lick.
Just a touch of the dicine,
and imdiately, Lin Yue felt her Qi-Blood being nourished, and her complexion beca rosier.
"This is good stuff, I’ll give it a try." Lin Yue opened her mouth and ate the big dicine straight away.
Once it was swallowed, she felt a drop in her gut.
But then, Lin Yue felt a warm qi enveloping her organs, nourishing and healing them. Although this process was slow, unlike that of Extraordinary Water, the dicinal effect lasted longer and gradually repaired her, suitable for body conditioning. Besides, she felt there was a trend of evolution in her body.
