Lin Yue explained, "You know about the Golden Academy, right."

"I’ve seen it online, the most authoritative and top-level martial arts school in the country," Li Yi nodded.

Lin Yue said, "The Golden Academy managed to open a wormhole to the Otherworld through experints a few years ago, intercepting its Cosmic Energy. That’s why within the bounds of the Golden Academy, pure Cosmic Energy is particularly active, making cultivation much faster there than anywhere else."

"There’s such a thing?" Li Yi was quite surprised.

"Of course, otherwise why would every cultivator want to get into Golden Academy? No, I’ve made up my mind. In a few days, I’m going to check out your house to see if it’s because of its special location. If it is indeed your house causing this, then I might have to cultivate there every day, and you better not refuse then."

At this mont, Lin Yue was very interested and also wanted to find a better place for cultivation.

Li Yi, not knowing how to refuse her, steeled himself and agreed, "Well, alright then."

"By the way, can you tell if soone is a cultivator just by their eyes? What’s the difference between the eyes of cultivators and those of ordinary people? Can you tell ?"

While he changed the subject, he also asked a question that puzzled him.

Lin Yue said, "Since you’ve asked, I’ll answer you with the knowledge I’ve gained. Cultivators are people on the path of evolution, so their eyes naturally change. First and most noticeably, their eyes will start to shine, which is due to the gathering of Cosmic Energy. The more powerful the cultivator, the brighter their eyes, and eventually, even the pupils will change."

"So that’s how it is," Li Yi now understood.

No wonder the first ti he t Crow, the man’s eyes were faintly luminous in the dim room, making him appear like a beast lurking in the darkness, which was unsettling to onlookers.

"You ca over so early today not just for matters of cultivation, right?" Lin Yue, being more perceptive as a woman, felt that Li Yi had sothing on his mind.

Li Yi sowhat embarrassedly said, "Actually, I just wanted to ask, after becoming a cultivator, what kind of jobs can one do to make money? You know about my family situation, Sister Lin, so a big reason I’m cultivating is to find a better job."

"So you want to help you find a job."

Lin Yue suddenly smiled: "Cultivators indeed have many special jobs, such as joining studios, taking commissions from detective agencies, cleaning up dangerous items in certain areas, or going to the Ruined District to capture wanted criminals and save people. There’s also going into hazardous zones to try and hunt down special creatures that have invaded from the Otherworld... But you’ve just started cultivating two days ago, so you can’t take on these jobs. At least if you unlock Spirit dium abilities, you’ll still be able to consult on Feng Shui for people."

Li Yi gave an awkward smile, knowing that everything Lin Yue said was correct.

A newbie like him was not yet up to handling a cultivator’s work.

"However, there’s one job you might be able to try," Lin Yue’s smile faded as she spoke earnestly.

"What job?" Li Yi asked imdiately.

Lin Yue said, "A Guide."

"A Guide? I know that. It’s about channeling Cosmic Energy into soone else’s body to aid in their cultivation, right?" Li Yi responded at once.

Lin Yue said, "Exactly, and I’m currently studying for the Guide certification."

"You have to get certified?" Upon hearing this, Li Yi’s face fell.

Lin Yue laughed, "You can do the job without certification, but the salary is a bit less. For you, though, the money from this job should be enough. However, before that, you must advance your cultivation to the point of ditation and be able to sense the presence of others around you, or else you won’t be able to channel Cosmic Energy into soone else’s body."

"If you can manage that, call this number. He’s an acquaintance of mine from the Cultivator Association. While I’m not close with him, he should still respect my recomndation if you’re looking for work."

With that, Lin Yue gave Li Yi a phone number.

"Okay, I got it; thank you, Sister Lin," Li Yi took down the number, expressing his gratitude.

"Don’t ntion it, it’s just a trivial matter. Alright, I’ve got other things to do, so call if you have any questions. Oh, and you don’t have my contact information yet; you should take that down as well," Lin Yue said.

"Sister Lin, go ahead with your busy day. I have to go buy nutrient solution. I’m very grateful for today. When I’m capable in the future, I will definitely repay your kindness," Li Yi said earnestly.

Lin Yue flashed him a smile and countered, "Then you better work hard."

After saying that, she turned and walked into the ditation room.

Li Yi didn’t bother her anymore, after all, Lin Yue had taken two days to guide him and help him onto the path of cultivation, which was a great help already; the rest of the journey he would have to walk by himself.

With this thought in mind, he left Uncle Biao’s ditation room.

"First, I need to buy so nutrient solution." Li Yi went to a relatively large pharmacy nearby.

Business in the pharmacy was booming, with many people lining up to purchase the nutrient solution. Indeed, cultivation had beco popular again lately.

"I want to buy six bottles of the first type of nutrient solution."

When it was Li Yi’s turn, he decisively bought a month’s supply for his parents. Fortunately, he had earned ten thousand yuan from Crow that morning; otherwise, he would have definitely run out of supplies today.

After paying six thousand yuan, he thought for a mont, gritted his teeth, and spent another two thousand yuan to buy a bottle of the second type of nutrient solution.

The second type of nutrient solution was for cultivators to supplent their nutrients; although it was the lowest level, Li Yi wanted to try and see its effects.

His money quickly dwindled to just over three thousand yuan. Li Yi didn’t dare to spend any more and prepared to leave the pharmacy to buy so food to store at ho. He then planned to earnestly cultivate at ho for a few days, striving to reach the threshold as soon as possible to beco a guide.

However, as he was about to leave...

Suddenly, he saw a familiar figure in the queue outside the pharmacy.

It was a woman in a strap dress with a sowhat graceful figure.

"Is that... Liu Yan?" At that mont, Li Yi doubted his eyes and shuddered uncontrollably.

But wasn’t Liu Yan already dead?

Dead from being an eye witness, her body found outside the building in the Ruined District with blood flowing from all seven apertures.

Among the crowd, Liu Yan, who was standing in line, seed to have felt Li Yi’s gaze. She slowly turned her stiff head around, her pallid, bloodless face gradually coming into view.

Li Yi imdiately felt a chill down his spine, quickly averted his gaze, and hurried away from the pharmacy as if escaping.

So instinct told him not to get caught by that Liu Yan’s attention.

It was only after he had walked several kiloters away from the pharmacy that Li Yi stopped, gasping for air.

This wasn’t due to exhaustion, but rather from excessive nervousness.

"Have I opened my Spirit dium abilities and begun to see unclean things? Or was that really Liu Yan there..." His heart was still cold, and his mind a ss.

Looking back to make sure that Liu Yan hadn’t followed him, only then did Li Yi breathe a sigh of relief.

After calming down, Li Yi was certain that he had not activated any Spirit dium abilities, so what he saw must have indeed been Liu Yan.

"The Liu Yan I saw just now... what exactly is it? And it lives among the city like this, unnoticed by anyone, even the cultivators who were queuing up didn’t seem to find anything amiss."

"I’m beginning to understand what Lin Yue ant; our world is far more dangerous and terrifying than what we see."

Li Yi didn’t dare to stay outside any longer.

Because now he couldn’t be certain whether among the people walking outside, there was only one entity like Liu Yan or many others like her.

Once he opened his Spirit dium abilities, how many strange and terrifying things would he be able to see?

No wonder people in the old city district were dying mysteriously all the ti.

Perhaps their deaths were not normal, but caused by so unknown terror.

With these thoughts, Li Yi hurried ho as if fleeing.
