Hans had to admit, Kael was truly a genius.

He could even be called a monster.

Being MVP once was already too good for a person.

Yet he won the MVP title four tis in a row!

To be honest, that was sothing that even the protagonist in his previous life, even if he possessed [Sword Saint], couldn’t do.

Kael was truly a diamond.

And the protagonist was very lucky to have t that diamond.

Honestly, Hans had once intended to use him to achieve his own goals.

But then, after spending a lot of ti together, going through countless trials together, the protagonist no longer had that aning.

Now, he just wanted to continue accompanying Kael.

Hans wanted to know how far this person could go.

To the protagonist, Kael was not only the benefactor who saved his family, but also a close friend.

In his previous life, he had been betrayed countless tis.

Causing him to have less trust in others.

However, when he was with Kael, the protagonist was for so reason very willing to trust him.

So, when he heard Kael say that they would be separating from here, Hans was truly heartbroken.

It took him a long ti to digest that information.

And when the protagonist snapped out of his thoughts, he was already preparing to leave.

"Wait."

Before Hans’s mind could react, his hand had already grabbed Kael’s sleeve.

"...Is there anything else?"

Kael asked. His mood was like that cup of tea, calm, without a single ripple.

"...Are you really going to leave?"

"The contract is over."

"...You don’t feel anything? Sadness, or sothing like that?"

"..."

"...What was the ti we spent together like to you?"

Hans pursed his lips, both looking forward to hearing the answer and afraid to know it.

"...For , it was a fun ti. It was really fun to be with you, Hans."

"..."

"But, every party has to co to an end."

"...Is that so?"

But, he refused!

The protagonist took a deep breath, gathered all his courage, and then spoke:

"...If that’s the case, then why don’t we continue this party?"

As he said those words, his face turned red.

"..."

Even Kael felt embarrassed as hell when he heard those things.

How cheesy.

"What do you an?"

Hans clenched his fists, then continued:

"I want to continue to accompany you, for as long as possible, and it doesn’t involve any contracts or anything like that anymore."

"..."

"In other words, I want to be friends with you, not based on benefits, but as true friends."

Kael was a little taken aback by the protagonist’s bluntness.

"...So, what do you think?"

Hans looked away, avoiding his gaze.

He was afraid of being rejected.

But that wouldn’t happen.

Gently, Kael placed a hand on the protagonist’s shoulder, his sapphire eyes t his wine-colored eyes.

"I’ve always considered you a friend, Hans. And I would love to continue to accompany you."

***

[Congratulations!]

[You have obtained the Ability - Death King!]

"Eh?"

That was the first thing Kael saw after waking up from a sweet night with Evelyn.

"What the hell is this?"

A new Ability?

Impossible...

But, the truth was clearly before his eyes.

Trembling, he checked the Ability he had just obtained.

— — — [Death King] — — —

— The King of Destruction, the commander of the army of the dead, the bringer of death.

— The people, or Tower Creatures, that you kill can beco your soldiers. There is no limit to the number of soldiers you can have.

— You can only use this Ability once a week.

— — — — — — — — —

"Wow..."

Honestly, this was an Ability that was beyond amazing.

In a way, [Death King] was even slightly better than [Authority of Gluttony].

But the question was, why did Kael suddenly receive an Ability on such an ordinary morning?

Oh well, whatever.

Reading through the description of [Death King], his eyes beca brighter and brighter.

With this Ability, Kael could now build his own army.

And he could even turn Hans into a pawn that was absolutely loyal to him!

"No."

He imdiately denied that idea.

Partly because Kael’s conscience wouldn’t allow it.

And the rest was because he could only summon his soldiers once a week.

’Well, everything that’s too good has a downside.’

But then, a familiar face flashed through his mind.

A face that Kael could never forget.

Caster.

Without hesitation, he tried to summon the boy.

...

But, nothing happened.

What a pity.

With a disappointed sigh, Kael muttered:

"What was I expecting?"

***

Seraphina’s mansion could be said to be the most magnificent and expensive place on the first floor.

However, instead of enjoying it like a normal person, the guildmaster of the Serpent’s Covenant guild spent all her ti in the laboratory.

What a strange person.

Click!

The door opened, and from outside, Kael casually entered.

As if this was his house.

"Hello, we et again."

He glanced around at everything around him, things that he couldn’t understand even if he spent his whole life studying.

"Yeah yeah, hello, feel free to choose a seat. Just don’t touch my stuff."

Devil’s Enemy replied indifferently.

She didn’t even spare Kael a glance, and only focused on her microscope.

"No need. I just ca here to get sothing."

"Sothing? What thing?"

Seraphina frowned slightly.

He could only sigh helplessly.

"A drug that will slowly reduce soone’s power without them noticing. Don’t tell you haven’t made it yet."

Devil’s Enemy snapped her fingers.

"Oh, that?"

A mont later, her pet, a purple python, crawled out from a corner and approached Kael.

On its back was a dicine box without a label.

Which made it look even more suspicious.

"That’s what you need, take it and leave quickly."

"Are you trying to chase away?"

Despite saying that, he still took the dicine box from the python’s back.

Now, it seed like he owed her a favor.

"Well then, I’ll take my leave."

"Wait."

"What’s the matter?"

Kael paused, frowning.

"Why did you ask to create that drug? Are you trying to kill soone?"

As a doctor, it was the Devil’s Enemy’s duty to ensure the safety of the patient.

He glanced at the dicine box in his hand, then curled his lips slightly.

"Listen, if I really wanted to kill soone, I wouldn’t need you to make this dicine, right?"

That was a lie.

And if Seraphina recognized it, then maybe two lives would have been saved.
