"What have you two been up to?" Peter asks, just as he steps into the kitchen, reclining modishly by the doorpost as he stared lovingly at his wife, before sparing a curious glance.

Dude was a handso man and he knew it. Too bad I am not into married people.

I almost baffed at my insane thought. What was propelling this? Whatever it was should continue, it was subduing my timidity, of which I liked, even though I didn’t exactly appreciate the checking-out syndro.

"Girl’s stuff." Laura replied, a short smile on her lips, the pride that had clouded her during her husband’s defense against his brother, still running in waves around her. She could fly at this mont.

Peter pouted at his wife’s comnt, and I couldn’t help but spurt out a laugh.

If anything his pout beca more prominent. Dude had been doubly shaded now. But that was the least of my concerns, we were supposed to be talking now, they were supposed to be answering my nurous questions now. I thought, biting my lips not knowing how to broach the topic without them thinking that I am impatient.

Thank the goddess for Laura who could read auras or was it face expressions, because in the next mont she was asking that we move to the sitting room so that we could talk about myself and the questions that I have been storing uup all this while.

We conceded and strolled to the sitting room, settling in the comfortable sofas, and then looking at each other. The looking went on for a long while

"Oh god..’’ Peter drawled, laughing just as I and Laura after a few beats, when the staring beca funny and weird at the sa ti.

"So, Maya..."

Good. Finally, this was happening. All the answers to my questions.

"Have you started recovering any of your mories? Do you rember anything now? Even the slightest details?" Peter asks.

Oh shit. I hadn’t seen that coming. I had thought the question would move in a direction like ’So, Maya...what were your questions, what were your confusions? We are ready for them now, we are ready to give you answers’ But alas, fate has sothing else in store for at this minute.

For a mont, I thought to give them sothing to hold onto, a mory, for I have lots of them to share, sothing that will put Laura and Peter at ease, sothing to encourage them that their good relations toward were working, but then I thought better of it. It was too soon. I needed the answers to my questions to know my way forward, to know what to do concerning my mory before the queen caught onto totally.

"Maya, we understand if you don’t want to talk about this...we are not trying to rush you or let the queen...." Laura was saying, but I shook my head.

"It’s okay, Laura. But Peter, I still don’t have a grasp on my mories, I seem to hit a painful brick wall anyti I try to rember. But I promise to keep trying to rember. I promise to let you know if anything turns up. I hope sothing does. I am as curious as you are about who I am." I answered, tapping myself on the back inwardly for a lie well concocted as I watched Peter and Laura nod their heads with a sorry expression drawn on their faces and expressed in their eyes.

"That’s okay, Maya. Since that is so, we will put in more effort on our side to see that you recover all your mories. And just to let you know, a pro tip, we will be heading out tomorrow or next to et up with so of my trusted associates and friends, including the school-I think it is open now for new intakes although classes would start in the next three weeks. We will also be checking out other sites in the community, so that you will be familiarized with the environnt. Is that okay by you? Is it too soon? I can manage to snag in the favour with the queen to let you cool off more for a month or two if you want, perhaps if you want to wait till you recover your mories. She owes one after all." Peter stated, and I shook my head again.

No, I can’t stay alone in the room for two months, I would get bored to death. I needed to get out and see how large the community was and how it is run. I needed to et new people, and form allies. I couldn’t do that whilst sitting down in the house. That would be irresponsible of since I already had a hold of my mories.

"No, you don’t have to call in any favour with the queen.."I said, wondering what the queen owed him, and what he had exactly done for her to warrant a debt. "I will be fine. Hopefully before the three weeks, my mory should have been restored. And I would be very happy to make acquaintances with your people and see new areas. I think I have had enough of bed rest." I completed with a thin smile on my lips, aware that my response pleased Laura and brought relief to Peter.

I knew from the deep sigh that he released from his mouth that he wouldn’t want to et the queen for any favour, that he actually dreaded it. It made wonder again what he had done to warrant the queen owing him one, and why he was afraid of asking it back from her.

"Alright then. Since that is settled, I think it is ti we answered your questions. I know you have a lot of them in your brain sack. But we are going to take it step by step, one by one, without any hurry, so that you can get the facts straight. And if while we get through the questions, the ti strikes ten, then the session would have to be postponed to tomorrow’s night. Although I have to tell you that if we keep having etings like this without Diana, she would not find it funny." Peter cited, and I smiled widely, nodding, knowing that he was right, even as my eyes searched out the clock; Diana wouldn’t find it funny.
