Outside was cold and empty of life. I an there was no one I could see loitering outside the hall, except for and the little girl who had co and invited out.

Although Naomi had been skeptical about the kind of et up the girl had proposed, she had finally agreed with to let go. After all , what could go wrong? What cri could a twelve old possibly commit against ?

Well, seeing the dark and hollow environs was beginning to make doubt and question that question of mine, especially since the bad feeling deep in my gut was beginning to get deeper and wider. I shouldn’t have agreed to co out here without Naomi.

What was I thinking? I should have let Adam know at least. I had allowed my quest for a stupid knowledge about Claire to drive . I hope I won’t regret it.

The girl was still leading the way, and I was tempted to ask her if we hadn’t yet gotten to a place where no one would hear us, when she stopped abruptly and turned to face .

I looked at her, expecting her theory about Claire to resurface so that I could get back to the hall, but she just stood there staring at , heightening my fears.

"Are you scared?" She asked . I could swear that there was a smirk on her lips even though outside was quite dark.

"Not at all. Should there be a reason for that?" I asked back, refusing to show that I was intimidated by this scenario.

"Probably. No one is here." She answered, the smirk which I had thought I had seen earlier tamorphosing more properly, causing an atmosphere of doom to descend upon .

"Why did you call here? What theory is it that you have about Claire?"I asked her, deciding to get to the point so that I could get her answer, and get out of here. Things were beginning to look creepy.

"To distract you of course." She replied simply, smiling sinisterly.

"To distract from what?" I asked, my heart beginning to beat faster than usual.

What was she talking about? Was there sothing going on in the hall now? Does it have to do with Adam? Was Claire planning sothing now? I know that there must be a reason why she hadn’t appeared for the party. Sothing was wrong sowhere. Sothing that had to do with Claire. I was sure of it.

No longer waiting for the strange girl to give a reply, I walked out on her, inhaling deeply, refusing to give in to the trembling that was threatening to assuage when she began to laugh loudly like a deranged witch.

Who was she? I thought, biting my lips as I increased my walking pace. I couldn’t make out who she was no matter how much I racked my brain, even though her face looked familiar, especially her eyes.

Walking into the hall with more quickened steps, I balked when I saw Claire discussing with Adam. What were they talking about? ?

Although he wasn’t smiling or receptive to her sly touches, he still stood there listening to her speak.

His eyes t mine a second later and held, and without wasting any more second, he ambled toward , not minding that Claire was beckoning on him. All this while, dragging the attention of the party mbers to I and him for the second and third ti tonight.

"Where did you go?" He asked , imdiately he got to and I sighed first, unsure on how I would tell him that I had followed a little girl outside of the hall in the quest of gossip. I wonder what he would think of .

"Just went outside to get so air." I finally answered, gasping when he threw his hands around my waist and pulled to him suddenly, such that my breast splayed on his chest, coincidentally at the sa ti that a slow dance tune was put on by the music regulator.

"Everybody is watching." I whispered shyly, aware of the more than hundred eyes gazing at us, especially as we danced to the middle of the hall, yes including his parents and mine.

I know they must be thinking why the lycan’s son was being touchy with the wolfless oga of the pack, the pariah, the unfortunate one, since tonight.

Well, if the gossip about our ti in the garden hasn’t spread around, I would hope that their thoughts would be along the lines of ’he is dancing with her since it’s her last day at the pack. For reconciliation, for peace to reign, and for bullying to end’.

But knowing my pack mbers, especially the students, I was sure that a variety of thoughts were going on in their minds.

For a second I wished I could hear those thoughts, but on a second note, I discarded the thought.

Reading minds might be poisonous to my ntal health. Only hearing what has been said vocally to in the last two years, has not done any good. What would happen if I should hear their thoughts then?

With ti, so couples joined us, including my parents. My mother winked at , as our eyes t on the dance floor.

She was happy that I was happy, not that I had managed to snag the Lycan’s son as a date for the night. I am sure that she has her reservations about that, the latter I an. I am also sure that for now, she is only concerned about making my last days in the pack happiness filled.

As I danced with Adam, our monts at the garden earlier today kept flashing through my mind, even as a smile slithered across my lips unknown to .

"Why are you smiling?" Adam asked , rubbing his nose against mine, a show of affection, not minding that his father was glaring at us.
