Capítulo 1534: Chapter 1532: Caron’s Defeat and Retreat
In just a few seconds, both were slashed dozens of tis by each other, blood flowing freely as if it were worth nothing.
However, Caron had brought many healing potions.
Whenever his injuries beca severe, he would seize the opportunity to gulp down a bottle of healing potion.
Thus, although his injuries were as severe as Wang Dadong’s, the resulting situation was that Wang Dadong’s condition worsened, while his did not necessarily improve, it certainly didn’t deteriorate.
“Isn’t this cheating!” Lin Shir was sowhat anxious seeing this.
In terms of energy, they were evenly matched, for close combat, they were similarly matched.
But Caron had potions to heal his wounds, Wang Dadong did not, and if this continued, he’d surely be worn to death by Caron.
“I have ten bottles of this potion left. I can outlast you to death!” Caron said, almost shalessly.
Wang Dadong was thoroughly frustrated.
The potions Caron drank were evidently extrely precious; they not only healed injuries but also restored stamina to a certain extent.
If the battle continued this way, he would indeed be worn out to death.
With healing potions, Caron wasn’t afraid of getting injured, so his attacks beca even more fierce, putting great pressure on Wang Dadong.
Gradually, Wang Dadong began to struggle.
“Am I really going to die here?” A sense of helplessness rose in Wang Dadong’s heart.
Finally, Caron seized a flaw in Wang Dadong’s defense, thrusting his sword rcilessly towards Wang Dadong’s heart.
However, just as his sword was about to pierce Wang Dadong’s body, Caron suddenly sensed a strong crisis arising from behind him.
Without a mont’s hesitation, he turned around, blocking with his giant sword.
Clang!
The sound of tal clashing resounded, as a powerful force seed to co from the sword, nearly making Caron lose grip of the Chunjian Sword, and his body couldn’t help but stagger backward five or six steps.
Raising his head, he saw Yue Huaizhen in the distance, holding an enormous Black Iron Bow.
The entire bow was pitch black, its length almost as tall as Yue Huaizhen’s body.
“It works!” A gleam of happiness flashed in Yue Huaizhen’s beautiful eyes, as she fitted another Black Iron Arrow.
The crisis Caron sensed just now was from the arrow she shot.
Although that arrow didn’t harm Caron, it at least showed that he dared not take it head-on; the Black Iron Arrow could threaten him.
The Black Iron Arrow was incredibly thick, about a ter long and one centiter thick, looking more like a spear than an arrow.
This Black Iron Bow was the exclusive weapon of the Moon Goddess. In the entire Moon Goddess Village, apart from her, even five people combined couldn’t draw its string.
It was said that even a force of a thousand pounds couldn’t move the Black Iron Bow an inch.
Yue Huaizhen had used the Black Iron Bow before, but later on, she rarely used it, because she only needed to draw it a third of the way to shoot an arrow that would pierce through an adult rhinoceros!
Such piercing power was even more terrifying than a sniper rifle.
“Hey, I have help too!” With Yue Huaizhen’s assistance, Wang Dadong’s confidence soared, and he promptly charged at Caron again.
If he could use energy, the arrows shot by Yue Huaizhen wouldn’t threaten a Hermit-level existence, but now the energy of both parties was sealed; if hit, there would probably be a hole left.
Caron’s pressure doubled instantly, having to defend against Wang Dadong’s lethal strikes while being wary of Black Iron Arrows shot by Yue Huaizhen.
Very soon, he was forced to flee in disgrace.
“Sister Moon Goddess is amazing!” Lin Shir clapped her hands excitedly as Wang Dadong regained the upper hand.
“Wang Dadong, this is a duel between us two, letting outsiders interfere isn’t quite honorable,” Caron said, frowning as he dealt with Wang Dadong’s onslaught.
But Wang Dadong cared little, lacking any deanor of a Hermit-level master, disdainfully laughing, “You don’t like it? You can find help too.”
After exchanging more than a hundred blows, several new wounds appeared on Caron’s body.
Due to the threat of the Black Iron Arrows, he didn’t get the chance to gulp down any healing potions.
Yue Huaizhen’s archery skills were superb, capable of hitting extrely small targets from thousands of ters away. Twice, she even shot and exploded the potions Caron was about to drink.
“Sister Moon Goddess, shoot him dead, shoot him dead!” Lin Shir shook her little fists in anger.
Of course, Yue Huaizhen wanted to shoot Caron dead with an arrow, but his reaction speed was too fast, and her arrows only posed minor troubles for him.
There was indeed a delay between the shot of the arrow and hitting the target. To defeat Caron would require close combat!
Earlier, Yue Huaizhen had no qualification to interfere in Caron and Wang Dadong’s battle, but now, she had gained the qualification to intervene.
Though she didn’t know why Caron suddenly weakened, it was certainly a positive turn of events.
Without hesitation, Yue Huaizhen grabbed her spear and swiftly charged.
Even though Wang Dadong and Caron’s energy was sealed, their strength was evidently a notch higher than Yue Huaizhen’s, making her advance truly an act of bravery.
Originally, Wang Dadong intended to keep Yue Huaizhen out of it, but thinking of Yue Huaizhen’s astonishing physique… perhaps, with her help, the two could physically overpower Caron together.
In the beginning, Yue Huaizhen and Wang Dadong’s cooperation was still clumsy, but as ti passed, their teamwork grew increasingly seamless.
One with a sword, the other with a spear, one commanding and imposing, the other unyielding as a woman, for a mont, they forced Caron into retreat after retreat.
Clang!
The Chunjian Sword in Caron’s hand was sent flying by a fierce jab from Yue Huaizhen, clanging it was lodged into the ground.
Yue Huaizhen’s physical power was indeed frightening.
Caron knew staying any longer would gain him nothing and might cost his life. If he lost his life, acquiring the Spiritual Spring would be aningless, and the thought of retreat arose in his heart.
Regrettably, if he left, the Spiritual Spring would likely fall into Wang Dadong’s hands.
Heart full of unwillingness, yet powerless to change it.
“Wang Dadong, once again you ruin my plans. Just you wait, I will settle this score eventually!” Caron said, swiftly fleeing into the forest without even picking up the Chunjian Sword.
As Caron fled, Yue Huaizhen imdiately wanted to give chase, but Wang Dadong waved her off.
“Let it be.”
In battles of Hermit-level adversaries, if one insists on escaping, it’s nearly impossible for the other to detain them.
However, this doesn’t an he will let Caron off the hook.
If given the chance, he would certainly kill Caron, avenging Bai Su.
Though a bit regretful, at least they recovered the Chunjian Sword.
Wang Dadong pulled the Chunjian Sword, which was slanted in the ground, out. His fingers gently brushed over the sword, its sharp blade emitting a clear ringing hum.
This was undoubtedly a Peerless Sword.
Pity, the sword’s owner…
