Grand Prison, Lowest Basent Floor.

"haa.... Haaa... haaa...."

*Groannn!!!!*

The voice of a hungry stomach screaming for food rang out in the silent basent.

In a secluded cell, Antonio hadn’t eaten anything for the past three days, and even the water placed in the pot in his cell had already been finished yesterday.

Thus, he was dying of thirst, and his body had beco thin due to weight loss after not having eaten anything for several days!

Antonio was going mad from starvation, and just when he thought that he was going to starve to death, the main door of the basent opened and a guard holding a lamp walked inside the dark basent.

As if seeing a ray of hope, Antonio, who was lying on the ground paralyzed from hunger, crawled towards the steel bars of his cell and spoke in a desperate voice,

"f-food... food... p-please..."

Tears appeared in his dry eyes as he begged for food, and unfortunately for Antonio, the guard had really brought him food.

"Tch!"

The guard was already warned not to pay heed to the man confined in this place, and as he knew that Antonio was the rumored black magician.

He thought that Antonio was actually trying to deceive him by pretending to be hungry and weak!

Thus the guard didn’t close the distance, just placed the box of food on the ground, and kicked it towards Antonio’s cell!

Unluckily for Antonio, although so of the food spilled out and fell on the ground, most of it still remained intact and reached him.

As if a newfound strength had risen from the depths of his body, Antonio got up instantly and started gulping down the food with both of his hands without even caring for dirt or anything else!

His face lit up with sheer joy, and a smile appeared on his face as he laughed like an idiot while eating, causing the timid guard to panic and leave in a hurry.

"AH, FOOD ah, ah food...."

At that mont, it was as if Antonio had entered paradise!

That simple al tasted so good that Antonio ate it all in just a matter of re seconds and even licked his fingers with a happy look on his face!

The food almost seed like a god’s blessing to him when he was eating it, but he had no idea that this wasn’t a blessing but a curse that would haunt him till his final breath.

Once Antonio was finished eating, he finally ca to his senses and realized that there was a small paper attached to the box’s bottom, and when Antonio opened that paper, he found so words written on it.

The words written on it completely ruined Antonio’s happy mood, and the smile on his face disappeared in a matter of seconds!

The piece of paper fell from his hand and dropped on the ground as Antonio remained seated on the ground, powerless and unable to do anything.

It was as if his eyes had lost the light of hope; he was now just an empty husk of his past self.

...

Outside the Colosseum.

"I had no idea that the missions of the organization were so easy and rewarding..."

Looking at the ticket in his hand, a smile appeared on Paul’s face.

After delivering the food to the prison as he was instructed, Paul chatted with the fat manager a bit, who kept showering him with praises and even gave him the ticket to watch a match in the colosseum for free!

Using this ticket, Paul can co to the Colosseum at any ti he wants and enjoy the show without paying a single coin!

Nobles and rich people pay hefty sums just to buy a ticket to the Colosseum, but Paul received such an expensive thing just by completing a single mission for the organization.

Thus, he was beyond happy and felt that joining the organization was really worth it!

With a smile on his face, Paul carefully stuffed the ticket in his pocket and started walking back.

Exiting the noble district was even simpler than entering for him, and he managed to pass the gate without going through any security checks!

While walking, Paul suddenly felt a bit hungry, and seeing that there was a small restaurant nearby, he entered without any hesitation.

’If it was from a few days ago, I wouldn’t dare to eat in these expensive places at all...’

’But now I have money...’

Paul took out the money from his pocket, paid in advance, and ordered cookies and tea for himself as he sat down on a seat located near the window.

Looking outside the window, Paul could see many pedestrians walking on the streets, and he almost felt that everything was just a dream.

Only after sitting down in silence did Paul find ti to contemplate how bizarre and unbelievably fast his life had taken a new turn!

’If only she was here to enjoy this peace with ... sigh...’

This calm and peace made Paul think about his late wife, and he felt guilty that he couldn’t do anything for her back then.

’If I have t lord Saint back then... I could have asked him for help and she would have surely been saved with his blessings...’

Although the scenario seed quite nice to think about, there were no ’ifs’ in life; Paul knew that what had already happened could not be changed anymore.

All he could do was make sure that what happened to him won’t happen to anyone else!

And for that, a change in the city of Ilma is required, a revolution that will open the eyes of all people and make them understand the importance of knowledge and freedom!

"Hey... did you hear that the nobles are going to publicly punish that black magician in the colosseum tomorrow?..."

"What!? Aren’t they afraid that they will all be cursed if they watch that black magician get punished and he glares at them for looking at him the wrong way!"

"That monster can kill people with a look, you know!"

Just when Paul was busy contemplating the aning of his life, the people sitting on the seats behind him started talking about random rumors while eating!

Usually, Paul would ignore such rumors and wouldn’t listen to them much, but what these people were talking about was just too intriguing to ignore!

’What!? They are going to punish a mber of our organization!? This is bad news...’

Paul had only recently beco a mber of the organization, but his life had been greatly changed in just a few days.

The organization had helped him a lot and had shown him the way forward when he was lost!

Thus, Paul already felt loyalty towards the organization, and the re ntion of a mber of the organization getting caught and punished felt like a personal attack to him.

’Should I inform the others about this?... Wasn’t Mr. Antonio on a mission? How did he end up in situation like that?...’

Until now Paul was thinking that Antonio was on a mission and him going to the Colosseum was also a part of his mission.

Not only just him, but even the other mbers, including Ron, who was the most acquainted with Antonio, were thinking the sa thing.

They had no idea that Antonio was in fact stuck in a danger of life and death!

Paul felt obligated to rush back to the organization headquarters right away, but if he did so, he would stand out for abandoning his order and rushing away in a hurry.

Thus, he remained calm and waited for his order to arrive.

He hurriedly gulped down his tea and stuffed the cookies in his pockets before leaving right away.

To Paul’s surprise, the rumor of Antonio getting punished was spreading really far and wide.

Not only just the people in the restaurant, but also people walking on the streets and even so smokers were talking about the sa thing while standing in a shady alley’s entrance while puffing out thick clouds of smoke!

Noticing that the situation was dire and escalating rapidly, Paul hurried back and arrived at a small house located in a dark empty alley and knocked on its door with a particular rhythm.

*click!*

The door opened for Paul, and he rushed inside right away, as he was in a hurry.

Just when he was about to speak, the person standing guard near the door inside spoke in a calm voice.

"If you are here to notify about the incident with Antonio, then don’t; it’s all a plan of the organization. you don’t need to concern yourself with it; just do as your mission tells you about..."

Paul mouth was sealed before he could open it to speak, and a confused look appeared on his face.

"H-how do you know-"

Before Paul could even complete his question, the other party replied with the sa calm voice,

"I know because you are the seventh person to appear with the sa look of urgency here..."

Paul was left speechless by that answer.
