Volu 2, Chapter 3 – Bloodthirst
Teresa's erald eyes burst forth with dazzling brilliance, and the butterfly hairpin beside her hair emitted a deep blue gleam.
The longbow in her hand was completely destroyed, and her domain shattered. Her clothes turned into a battle-damaged state. At the sa ti, her third Divine Authority, [Sovereignty of All Forests], was triggered.
Ti ca to a halt. A dark cyan hue perated the world in her vision, and everything seed to slow down dozens of tis.
Teresa selected one of the three scrolls that appeared before her eyes.
[Mother Goddess's Soothing]
The broken wooden strips transford into the purest wood elents, quickly gathering in Teresa's hands. As a verdant sphere ford, she crushed it, releasing a green trajectory that spread outward in a circular pattern centered on her.
The ground touched by this green aura seed to be caressed by the hand of the Forest Mother, sprouting vegetation and grass.
The green wave swept over Felicia's body, causing vegetation to grow and spread over her, covering and binding her, while also smoothing out the agitation in her heart.
The training ground was subrged in a sea of flowers, forcibly calming Felicia.
"Phew..." Seeing that Teresa had successfully stopped Felicia, a Divine Child and a Divine Princess, whose legs had gone weak from fear, breathed a sigh of relief.
The internal class battle had ended. Logically, the victory should have gone to Sun-Moon Radiance. However, due to Felicia's loss of control after the match, which nearly led to disastrous consequences, as a warning and punishnt, there was no winner for this class battle, and no one received any points.
Today was the class competition, so classes ended early. On the way back, Felicia, who had cald down, walked silently at the end of the team, seemingly intentionally avoiding her teammates.
"Sister Felicia..." Wenfu looked worriedly at Felicia, who was walking at the back. She wanted to step forward to comfort her several tis but was stopped by Teresa.
"Miss Felicia probably doesn't need comfort right now," Teresa said.
Soone as strong-willed and proud as Felicia wouldn't want others to comfort her at this ti.
Right now, she felt very guilty, thinking she had dragged down her teammates, feeling very unwilling, yet unable to even say a word of apology. She avoided eye contact with her teammates, walking silently at the end of the team.
Of course, no one blad her. The class battle points were insignificant to Sun-Moon Radiance. If not this ti, they could strive for it next ti. But she was just being hard on herself.
This Whiteglass Knight Princess was generous and confident, but she also had her own stubborn side.
This was normal; everyone had flaws and imperfections in their personality. Absolute perfection was inherently incompatible with human nature.
Teresa could basically confirm that sothing had happened to Felicia. But if this princess didn't say anything...
At alti, Felicia ca downstairs. Unlike before, she didn't greet anyone, just walked sowhat woodenly to her seat and sat down, sipping her pea and beef soup in small sips.
Astrid noticed the strange atmosphere and asked Felicia if she was feeling unwell. Felicia just shook her head and smiled, saying she was fine, then buried her head and continued drinking her soup.
Wenfu wanted to say sothing but was worried that she wouldn't be able to comfort her properly. Throughout the al, she hesitated but didn't say anything.
After dinner, since tomorrow was the weekend, there was no need for anyone to tutor Wenfu tonight.
After finishing dinner, Felicia just said "excuse " and returned to the third floor, locking herself in her room.
Perhaps due to Felicia's unusual state, the atmosphere in Sun-Moon Radiance gradually beca subtle.
Night fell, darkness engulfed Coleman Academy, and the Crown Manor was subrged in it.
On the third floor, in Felicia's room, the amber-haired girl suddenly opened her brilliant golden eyes and got up. As Divine Power flowed, the cool knight princess armor attached itself to her body.
She looked at the greatsword leaning against the window.
Pushing open the door and stepping out of the room, she lightened her steps as much as possible, her gaze sweeping over the quiet corridor, pitch black.
Obviously, everyone else was asleep.
Felicia picked up the greatsword and slowly walked downstairs.
When she opened the manor's courtyard gate, she looked back at the courtyard and let out a deep sigh of relief.
Her figure disappeared into the darkness.
Climbing over the academy's walls, she left Coleman City and headed towards Coleman Forest.
Passing through the woods, the amber twin-tailed knight girl walked deeper and deeper, showing no signs of stopping. Her direction was the depths of Coleman Forest—Ruglian.
Kaleburn and Ruglian were the respective habitats of the Light Races and the Demon Race.
A thousand years ago, Kaleburn referred to the entire continent, and there was no Demon Race at that ti.
Until the Demon Race suddenly rose from the other end of the horizon, quickly overthrowing the empire and various Light Race forces, driving the Light Races to the other end of the continent, and settling on the ruins of the forr Light Race civilization.
The Demon Race did not refer to a single race but was a collective term given by the Light Races, who hated these ugly and powerful monsters. In fact, the Demon Race was composed of several completely different races.
Common ones included Beastn, Cyclopes, Werewolves, etc. These races could be further subdivided; for example, Beastn included Red Beastn, Green Beastn, and Evil Beastn.
Regarding the appearance of the Demon Race, there were no detailed records in the history books of various races. It was clear that this race did not originally exist on the Kaleburn Continent, and the objective reason for their existence was still unclear.
Even the oldest history books were vague about the appearance of the Demon Race, completely inexplicable. They really seed to have appeared out of thin air on the continent.
Since the end of the Demon Race War four hundred years ago, the continent had been divided into two: one was Kaleburn, where the Light Races thrived, and the other was Ruglian, where the Demon Race resided. With Coleman Forest as the boundary, a mysterious and eerie balance seed to have been achieved.
For hundreds of years, the Light Races had never relaxed their vigilance against the Demon Race, dispatching many troops to guard Coleman Forest. However, except for a few Demon Race infiltrations, everything was normal. The Demon Race showed no signs of movent, as if they had completely settled down and lost interest in the remaining half of the continent.
But how could the greedy Demon Race lose interest in invasion and conquest?
Coleman Forest was the gateway between the Light Races and the Demon Race. The empire, kingdoms, and elves had dispatched considerable forces, establishing watchtowers and fortresses around Coleman Forest to prevent another invasion by the Demon Race.
Coleman City was originally a neutral place, always at risk of being attacked by the Demon Race. As the city lord, he had no choice but to agree to various forces stationing troops outside his city. Later, the elves were just the first to act.
For the Light Races, Ruglian was an absolute forbidden zone, and the Coleman Academy strictly prohibited its students from venturing there alone.
Entering a place without a single Light Race and only the Demon Race, isolated and helpless, was a near-death situation.
Beyond Coleman Forest was a gloomy land, where even moonlight couldn't reach. On the grayish grassland, countless pairs of gleaming little eyes flickered.
These creatures.
