Chapter 922: Chapter 898: Return to the Old Place

Undoubtedly, succubi are among the most beautiful creatures in the multiverse, and the unconscious succubus conveys almost no traits associated with evil. Although these female demons wear massive horned helts when ard, they actually have no beast-like antlers on their heads, nor tails behind them. Except for the color of their wings, they are almost indistinguishable from angels, no wonder reports ntion succubi using their appearance to infiltrate small, remote churches, leading ignorant mortal believers down a path of unforgivable depravity.

Of course, in Lancelot’s eyes, the succubus before him pales compared to his succubus lover. The reason for not imdiately striking was not only due to his adherence to the knight’s code, but he also sensed a hint of conspiracy. Succubi are not ordinary soldiers; most hold high positions within the Nine Hells’ army, and wherever succubi appear, demonic military actions usually follow. Lancelot did not want his mission to beco complicated.

After the restraints were lifted, Enruiyesi quickly reacted. First, she gently moved her fingers, indicating that her body had regained consciousness. A few seconds later, she suddenly jumped from the ground, instinctively distancing herself from the motionless crowd, assuming a combative posture with her bare hands, while using her black wings to cover her naked body.

“Where is this, mortal?” Enruiyesi asked in a raspy, threatening voice, “Where is my gear?”

“This is the lair of the demon-hunting spider, Succubus, the place where you were previously held captive.” Lancelot answered unhurriedly while using the tip of his sword to poke the cocoon on the ground, “There’s nothing here besides you, so we don’t know where your gear went.”

“Demon-hunting spider?” Upon hearing the term, the demon’s expression changed dramatically, clearly reminiscent of so dreadful event, “Where are they?”

“The leader has been slain by , and most of the rest have fled,” Lancelot patiently replied, “You are safe now…unless you plan to beco our enemy.”

“Slain by you?” The succubus’s expression beca sowhat dazed, “Who are you? And why are you wearing that mask?”

“The ones who saved you,” Lancelot glanced at his peers, “As for the mask, naturally to conceal our identity. So, can I…”

“No way!” The demon interrupted the human knight before he could finish, “I never promised to repay those who rescued , so I don’t owe you anything!”

“But you do owe us a life.” Lancelot calmly pointed out, “If it weren’t for , you would have been eaten by now, along with your essence, completely dispelling any notion of ‘being reborn in the furnace of the Nine Hells.’ So you do owe us a life. Or are demons rely able to renege on debts, asserting denial at will? If that’s the case, never mind, you may leave, and I’ll figure out which address in Barto Hell to send a complaint letter to.”

“Hmph, no need to look, I can tell you right now, do you know where Volcano Fortress is? Zariel the Duchess’s headquarters is nearby; if you have any grievances, go to her directly,” the female demon arrogantly replied, “Farewell, mortals, I have military duties to attend to, and won’t be accompanying you. As you did save , here’s a piece of advice: leave this cursed place quickly, as far away as possible…”

The succubus spread her black wings, swiftly disappearing into the dark corridor, leaving a few companions staring at each other.

“What an insolent character,” Bruto spat, “I should’ve smacked her head off earlier with a hamr.”

“Just let her leave?” Alamir glanced at Lancelot questioningly, “If I’m not mistaken, that succubus seems to be…”

“I know, the very one who pursued back in the day.” Lancelot smiled slightly, “Killing her brings no benefit to us, let her go if she wishes, can’t force her to stay, right?”

“I’m more concerned about the last words of the succubus,” Kalalin frowned, “Zariel is near Volcano Fortress? The war has developed to such an extent… Previously, it was the supply support from Twin Bridges Town that maintained the line at Volcano Fortress, but that collaboration has been dismantled by Lord Wu’an, leaving behind an unmanageable abandoned city. Now the only one able to provide supplies for the army nearby is…”

“The Oasis Fort above us.” Lancelot shrugged, “The demon ntioned having military duties, right?”

“That’s correct,” Bruto nodded, “She said as much.”

“Seems we released the right person, regardless of what plans the demons have for Oasis Fort, I’m not opposed to it,” Lancelot chuckled, shaking his head, “Yesterday’s ally becos today’s foe, and now we flirt with yesterday’s adversary… Truly worthy of being a blood war. Well, everyone has rested enough, let’s continue our journey.”

The companions nodded upon hearing this, and after organizing their gear, they left the cavern still lingering with the sll of scorched wood. Even though the group had significantly deviated from the original path, with the mories Lancelot obtained from the demon-hunting spiders, there was no concern of getting lost in this intricate subterranean maze.
