Chapter 918: Chapter 894: Dishonorable ans

The water from the Stygian River poured earlier must have had so effect. The mind of the demon spider leader was still extrely chaotic at this mont. Lancelot could clearly feel a black fog invading his ntal world, but it only roared for sacrifice and did not carefully check his thoughts. In fact, other demon spiders also had the ability to read minds, but using this ability on a peer was a great offense (if both were of the sa class). Coupled with Lancelot’s appearance showing no abnormalities, the situation he feared did not happen. He just followed the other demon spiders and walked to the front of the monster.

At this distance, one could barely discern the connection between the appearance of the monster and the demon spiders. Its carapace showed so pathological proliferation, like rocks by the river covered with mollusks, just a glance would make one’s scalp tingle; its head had more than twenty pairs of eyes, even extending to the back, like tumors, flashing with a frenzied red light.

The demon spiders in front of Lancelot were also holding cocoons woven from spider silk. The one at the front stepped forward, lifting the cocoon to the leader’s mouth with its sharp forelimbs. The monster opened its calyx-shaped mouthpart, extending a bizarrely shaped, black-glowing fang, and pierced it into the cocoon, sucking aggressively.

Black pus and blood oozed from the gap in the wound, trickling to the ground. The other demon spiders eyed it greedily, so even subconsciously opening their mouths, gently rubbing their calyx-shaped lips against their sucking tubes used for feeding.

Demon spiders lack a typical digestive system and instead use venom to turn the prey inside the cocoon into a pool of blood, completing the feeding process through sucking, leaving nothing but bones.

Without a doubt, that black fang was the thing the Lord of the Dead wanted Lancelot to destroy. In the Spirit Perception of the Spiritual Cultivators, the nature’s spiritual energy around was being absorbed by the Evil Relic at a weak pace, as if in a brightly lit hall there was an unilluminable shadow, devouring all the light shining in.

Lancelot carefully observed every action of the monster while feeding: how the target exerted force, the angle of the fang’s thrust, the interval between movents… Everything he saw was shared through the ntal link with little Isa. He was certain the Wanderer was also intently watching, in so ways, it was like peeking at test questions, and little Isa, adept at solving problems, would surely think of the answers in advance.

anwhile, Lancelot kept his thoughts well-controlled, avoiding any thoughts that might raise the target’s alertness. Moreover, he feigned the sa reaction as the other demon spiders, deliberately half-opening his mouth, letting drool drip to the ground, patiently waiting for his turn.

He didn’t have to wait long.

Despite having drained five or six cocoons, the monster’s ntal fluctuation showed no reduction in hunger, as if those were just a spit at a blazing fire. Lancelot assud a fearful look (not entirely feigned), slowly crawled to the front of the monster, reluctantly lifted his forelimbs, and offered the cocoon to its mouth, like serving breakfast to an Emperor reluctant to leave his bed.

Perhaps Lancelot’s acting was too natural, as the demon spider leader paid him no attention. The monster opened its mouth again, the mouthpart spread open like a blooming flower, then slightly tipped its head back, preparing to thrust the black fang.

‘Now!’

Lancelot sent the signal to act to his companion through the ntal link, although the Wanderer had actually already started. A blue and a green cold light burst from the spider silk cocoon almost instantly, stabbing into the monster’s wide-open mouth. To Lancelot’s surprise, not only little Isa erged from the cocoon, but beside the girl was a golden light forming a human figure, with the Sword of Zariel in its hand.

Seeing the masked figure clad in chainmail, Lancelot was a bit surprised but he knew it was not the ti to ask questions. As his companions launched their surprise attack, he also began the transformation undoing move.

The demon spider leader’s black fang still advanced by inertia; although Lancelot was not in its path, he felt a hair-raising, impending doom, while ahead of him, little Isa and Cranvo’s figures dodged sideways, the black fang stabbing into the cocoon’s shell left behind them.

Facing the imposing demon spider leader, little Isa showed no fear, along with her deity, she stretched her sword-wielding hand into the monster’s mouth. The two seed prearranged, with Cranvo gripping the Sword of Zariel with both hands, thrusting the longsword as deep as possible while little Isa, holding the shorter Starlight Strike, deftly twisted her wrist, easily severing the spider tongue entwined at the end of the black fang.

Clearly, this wasn’t an honorable tactic, but Lancelot never expected to save the Multiverse through a fair fight.

Everything happened in a flash, and only then did the monster finally react, instantly showcasing its true power. A terrifying spiritual power shockwave suddenly erupted, plunging the consciousness of the three present into complete blankness, with the monster’s tentacles simultaneously swinging at them. This move was absolute madness, even if it hit Lancelot, the remaining force would be enough to seriously injure the monster itself.

But when the food you are about to eat suddenly cos alive and cuts off your tongue, any reaction wouldn’t be surprising.

At the critical mont, Lancelot’s last resort ca into play. In his Sea of Consciousness, the small bamboo slip left by Lord Han suddenly emitted a brilliant azure light, instantly dispelling the fog in his mind, pulling him out of the dizzy state. Also, everything before his eyes beca extrely slow, an extre state that only appears at life-or-death monts.

Almost instinctively, Lancelot reached out and grabbed little Isa’s ankle (unable to reach Cranvo’s avatar), then activated the Shadow Jump. With limited lighting, the shadows he could utilize were very limited, and there was only one place he could jump to avoid those tentacles.

Under the monster’s belly.

Originally there wasn’t enough space there, definitely not enough to fit a human male like Lancelot, but under the stimulus of extre pain, the demon spider leader practically leapt from its spot, revealing its belly, and that was one of the few weaknesses of the heavily carapaced demon spider.

Upon exiting the shadow, Lancelot imdiately opened the acupoint atop his head, with a blinding azure Sword Aura soaring to the sky, like a nail stuck in the ground. The next mont, he and little Isa were enveloped in a murky, viscous, purple-black substance, as if a sudden avalanche had buried them alive.

‘Brother, what happened?’ Little Isa was currently held in Lancelot’s arms, but the surrounding turbidity wouldn’t allow her to speak, she could only communicate with the Human Knight through the ntal connection, ‘Where are we?’

‘Inside the belly of the monster.’ Lancelot raised his hand, pointing at a tree trunk-sized, throbbing tubular structure above them, ‘And that artery-like thing? It’s its heart.’
