Chapter 829: Revised: Chapter 841 Urgent Intelligence

Before the knocking sounded again, Lancelot had already opened the door and found Soveris standing there with his arm up, looking surprised.

“…Good evening, Sir. You haven’t rested?”

“I’ve already rested. Is there an urgent matter?”

“Yes, otherwise I wouldn’t disturb you so late.”

“What happened?” Alamir also ca over. Elves only need four hours of ditation for sufficient rest, and he had almost fully recovered.

“Urgent intelligence from Chadegory Town. A large number of undead creatures have arrived. The Skull Breaker Legion guarding the city gate collapsed instantly. The streets are now occupied by the Lich’s army,” Soveris said tensely. “Moreover, shortly after the undead entered the city, they surrounded the Wolf King’s Den inn. Our clansn who were monitoring the situation sensed sothing amiss and imdiately sent soone to deliver the ssage… What should we do now?”

“How could this happen?” Lancelot furrowed his brows tightly, “Did the Lich himself appear?”

“No,” the brown-haired elf imdiately shook his head in denial, “The intelligence we have is that after the battle in Witches’ Forest, the Lich left most of his forces there and led a small elite back to Derrick Castle on Weaverly Mountain.”

“I see…” Lancelot stroked his chin, “How long ago is this information?”

“In raven form, it only takes half an hour to fly back from Chadegory Town, and I ca to you as soon as I received the ssage…”

“Alright,” Lancelot nodded, “I will go imdiately… Alamir, stay here with the others, I will go alone.”

“What?” the elf priest asked in surprise, “But aren’t there many enemies there?”

“Yes, so I’m not going to launch a strong attack. Little Isa is enough. You, Bruto, Tanya have already t the Baroness. I don’t want her to know who took her precious bones…”

“But didn’t the Baroness also et you?” Alamir looked at Lancelot in confusion, “You’re the most likely to be recognized…”

“I have that… Transforming Ring,” Lancelot answered vaguely, “She definitely won’t guess it’s .”

Using the power of the Raven Statue, the human knight turned into a raven again. He and Soveris flew from Raven Castle to Chadegory Town in just twenty minutes.

From the high altitude, the town was completely occupied by undead creatures, with skeletons and zombies wandering the streets, while the living trembled behind tightly shut doors. However, perhaps by the Lich’s order, these undead soldiers did not attack the residents, instead patrolling the streets like conquerors and harassing those who didn’t make it back to their hos in ti.

Outside the Wolf King’s Den, about several hundred undead creatures surrounded the inn in multiple layers, including those wearing full plate armor and wielding great swords and spiked hamrs. Judging from their aura, these undead knights had strength comparable to Berserk Demons. If Lancelot were at his peak, he might be able to force his way in, but it would be unwise to do so, and his current strength wouldn’t allow it.

Moreover, at the entrance of the inn, a three-foot diater disc made of countless bones floated in mid-air, seemingly a conveyance of so big figure, but Lancelot didn’t see anyone fitting the description nearby.

In a two-story house opposite the Wolf King’s Den, a black window was slightly ajar. Soveris and Lancelot slipped through the gap into a cluttered room filled with chairs, wooden boxes, and wardrobes. Three black ravens perched atop one of the wardrobes, watching them warily.

However, once the human knight and brown-haired elf resud their original forms, the birds visibly relaxed. One of the ravens flapped its wings and flew down from the wardrobe, transforming into a stern-looking human woman with deep red hair.

“Old Blackbird, you actually ca yourself?” The woman said in a hoarse voice, “And this nobleman… must be Sir Lancelot?”

“Yes, that’s .” Lancelot nodded politely, “Pleased to et you, madam.”

“I suppose I owe you thanks, Sir. My husband was rescued by you from the witches.” The woman’s expression softened a bit, “My na is Eileen, I reside here in Chadegory Town. I saw you when you checked into that luxury inn a few days ago, your mount left quite an impression.”

“Speaking of, where did that fellow go?” Lancelot turned to Soveris, “We haven’t seen it since we got back…”

“Uh…” Soveris looked embarrassed, “It hasn’t returned yet, I’ll send soone to look for it later…”

“No need, we won’t need it for now.” Lancelot shook his head, “What’s the current situation?”

“Ten minutes ago, six skeletons in plate armor and a zombie in a robe went inside and haven’t co out yet.” The woman nodded toward the window behind them. Lancelot turned to see that the black glass was completely transparent from this side, “I wanted to fly in and take a look, but these two said you specifically instructed not to act rashly…”

At that mont, the undead creatures surrounding the inn began to stir. The people in the room changed their expressions and gathered by the window. They saw the inn’s doors suddenly burst open, and the baroness, dressed in luxurious clothes, walked out with a grim expression. The undead creatures seed to regard her with great respect (or fear), all bowing and stepping aside. Four skeletons in plate armor and a robed zombie followed her like attendants.

The noblewoman, in her elaborate attire, stopped before the floating bone disc and glared at the robed zombie, who raised his hand and made a gesture. The bone disc then landed on the ground. The Baroness stepped onto the disc, the robed zombie made a few more gestures, and the disc floated back into the air like a flying carpet, carrying its distinguished passenger out of the city, escorted by the nurous undead creatures.

“Lancelot, what now?” Soveris whispered, “It looks like they’re taking her to Derrick Castle… but the journey will take several hours. Should we gather our forces and intercept…”

The elf suddenly stopped because he noticed that the human knight had his eyes tightly closed, seemingly indifferent to what was happening ahead.

“No need.” Lancelot suddenly spoke, his voice very soft, “What we’re looking for is still in the inn.”
