And I thought that reading all this would calm my mind. I closed the book and lay on the bed, but all the things that happened today and the things that I read were just too much for my brain to let sleep. I went to the window and looked towards the woods. For a split second, I saw a pair of golden eyes looking right toward , but they vanished as soon as I blinked... {What was that?} ... Is that my hallucination or... I took my cell and called matt.
"Hey"
"You are on patrol, right?" I asked him directly.
"What happened?" he asked , and I could hear his footsteps from another side.
"Is there a wolf in the pack who has glowing golden eyes?" I asked him.
"No, what happened?" he asked again.
"It can be a hallucination, but I saw a pair of golden eyes just a minute ago from Ryan’s room," I told him, and I could hear his breaths from the other side.
"Don’t co outside. I will check if there is anyone." I can hear him running on another side of the phone, and after a few minutes, Matt can be seen clearly from the window.
"Go towards your right" I guided him, and he turned towards his right "stop... that’s the exact place."
"Alright", he looked around first, then he sat on the ground, which made it hard for to see him clearly because there were so many bushes "Congrats, chubby... you are not hallucinating." as soon as he said that I ran outside the house and went towards the place where Matt was.
When I reached there, his eyes were blurry, and he was mind-linking soone. I examined the spot and saw paw prints of a wolf, "there is no breach in our security", I heard Matt’s voice, but I ignored him and tried to sniff the scent, but I found nothing.
"Matty, arrange wolf training for today and inform Mia that I needed her to search for a golden-eyed wolf with ."
"You sure about golden eyes?" he asked , and I nodded "fine, then I will also join you" I looked at him pointedly.
"You were awake all night. Go and sleep for a few hours. Mia has been handling all this for years," I told him while he completely ignored like the jerk that he was and continued looking for so other clue.
"There is nothing... it seems like this is our only option", he concluded while I glared at him. "Fine, I will not co with you ... now stop looking at like that", finally I nodded and looked around one last ti for any clue.
"I am going to sleep now," I told him and walked towards the house.
"What were you doing till now?" he asked while following .
"Reading a book on white wolves. Reed thinks that Dee is a white wolf," I explained to him... {I didn’t have to think even once to share anything with him}
"Dee as in our Dee? Diego?" He is looking shocked and confused right now.
"Yeah, I am talking about our Dee. Reed thinks that he is stronger than the pups of his age, and he has already started developing his heightened senses and mind-link," I explained to him.
"We must keep it a secret, or he could be in danger. People don’t easily accept the ones who are different from them," he said worriedly {It Seems like he also got connected with Dee}
"Believe , I knew it very well," I told him, and he nodded.
"Then I just hope that he will also beco ntally and physically strong like you" I smiled at him when I rembered sothing.
"Matty, what kind of person is lily?" I looked at him and stopped.
"Why? feeling jealous?" he teased while smirking, and I rolled my eyes.
"You should not talk about jealousy when you yourself give a death glare to every guy who even looks at Mia." he looked surprised for a second, then a cute blush ca on his cheeks. He rubbed the back of his neck... {He finally marked Mia a few days ago, which resulted in him being more possessive of her}
"I didn’t know you noticed," he said, and I couldn’t help but smile at my stupid friend.
"You are stupid to think that no one noticed... even your mate also knew it. Every ti you do that, she couldn’t help but smile like an idiot. Even the pack warriors are also wary of being around Mia when you are around" he smiled lovingly at this, "now, now, now... we will surely talk about this later, but right now, I want information about lily", I told him, and he frowned.

"He is a living being who has every right to decide whom he wants in his life or whom he doesn’t want. It is normal to fall in and out of love" he was about to say sothing when I cut him off, "I already knew that she was still stuck on Ryan because she did co to the house when no one was there. She even went to Ryan’s room and wore his shirt, but the thing that bothered is that she went to Amara’s room also, and if I am not thinking wrong, then she was there to search for sothing" He frowned after listening to everything.
"That’s fishy... Why did she go to Amara’s room?" If I say this didn’t surprise , it would surely be a lie.
"You believed just like that," I asked him in surprise, and he flicked his finger on my forehead. I smacked his head in return, and he whined while laughing, instantly making laugh with him. "You are stupid", I told him while rubbing my forehead, and he laughed harder.
"You are my childhood friend. I don’t have any reason not to believe in you," he said casually and gestured towards the house "now go and have so rest. We will talk about this matter later", he said and when I was about to tell him, thank you that stupid idiot smacked my head and ran towards his house...
"I will kill you bastard", I shouted, and he laughed in return and ran towards his house. I punched the code and entered the house, but as soon as I closed the door behind , I heard soone’s footsteps. Instantly I hid behind the pillar and dialled Ben’s number.
"What happened, Aadhya?" I heard Ben’s sleepy voice from the other side.
"Co out of the room, be attentive. I think sobody is in the house". I cut the call and tried to hear any other sound... {yeah, as if sobody will make noise when he has already seen you or heard you coming inside the house} ... I heard soone’s footsteps coming downwards. I looked there and saw Ben standing there in alarm. He turned on the lights, and I went towards him.
"I am going to check Amara’s room" he nodded and went in another direction urgently. When I opened Amara’s room, the window of her room was open... {Why am I getting the feeling that playing safe is not in my favour?} ... I can’t help but agree with my conscience. I might have caught the person if I had done everything by instinct. After a few minutes, Ben also ca there and understood that whoever ca inside had already run away... {Can it be Lily again?}
"Did you see the face?" he asked .
"Nope, but this window was closed from inside. There is no place from where a person would have co inside other than the main door," I told him, and he nodded. He went towards the window and inspected it. "Whoever the person was, he changed into his wolf form as soon as he stepped out of the house, and as there are no shredded clothes here, it ans that he should surely have co here in his wolf form", he concluded.
"What do you think? Did he find sothing that he wanted?" I asked him while he was frowning.
"I don’t think so, but he surely is not a rogue and not so regular wolf," he said, and I nodded... {Is it the ti to talk about lily with him?}
"I was wondering, Ben. How many wolves in this pack know how to conceal their scent?" I asked him while he was busy trying to find sothing.
"Not much... It is not easy to learn it. All my kids have taken more than two years to learn it, and that was only when I didn’t allow them to quit. Even Layla and Matt are also learning to hide their scents, but none of them succeeded in it till now," he explained, and I can’t help but feel sad for him... {He is deeply attached to Lily, but I need to tell the truth to him.}
"Can it be Lily?" I asked him, and he looked at as if I had grown two heads.
"I can understand your concern, kid. I can accept that she can sneak into Ryan’s room or can try to get him back, but why will she co into Amara’s room?" he said, and I took a deep breath {you can’t bla her until you are not sure yourself}
"Maybe she sneaked in the house, but when I ca back, she should have panicked, and she entered the first room and ran out of the window, " I suggested, and Ben nodded.
"That can be the case because she definitely did know the password. Don’t take tension. I will try to talk with her to forget about Ryan ’’ I can see that he is already worried about her.
"If you can ask her whether she has co or not, then that will be enough. I just wanted to confirm that she is the one who entered the house and not soone else" he nodded, and after closing the window, we ca out of the room. We were about to go upstairs when we heard the clanking of utensils from the kitchen. We both got tense, and Ben gestured for to stay behind him while I took my knives out... {Maybe it’s not actually Lily} ... I followed Ben silently, and he also concealed his scent. Suddenly I heard a very familiar lody coming from the kitchen. I didn’t need much ti to rember where I heard this lody. Instantly I ran towards the kitchen while Ben shouted behind to stop. When I saw the person standing there, I couldn’t help and the tears that left my eyes.
