Point-of-View: Anarchy/???

———————————————————————————

"Oh, co on, is that really all you’ve got, aren’t you supposed to be a Category 0 like ?" Scoffed the Eden Category 0 that my partner, Francesca, and I were up against.

Francesca Caputo, she’s very strong, but her technique is a bit sloppy as a result of her overconfidence in her raw physical strength, which she boosts even further using her Physical Skill.

Additionally, she’s impulsive and simple-minded, the definition of a athead. And the opponent we were facing was Maya Greene, an Eden Category 0 with a high level of mastery over the Space Skill.

We had arrived outside the room where Eden’s Space Skill users who were responsible for maintaining their barriers were in, no doubt they had reactivated their barriers after X nullified them earlier.

I need those barriers removed permanently, then I can call Glenn and execute my own plan...I’m not on Harmony’s side, but I need to ensure that this mission succeeds without a hitch, so our interests align right now.

There’s no longer a place for Eden on my ga board, except of course, for the wild card that is the millions of mbers they’ve abandoned when they moved to this hideout. But the heart of Eden needs to be carved out. And I have to eliminate any possibility of them regaining their command and control over those abandoned mbers.

And to do that...I’ll have to ensure that all their higher ups die. There’s likely to be secret exits in this hideout, it’s a common feature of all of Eden’s hidden bases, as I’ve found out through their mbers who’ve defected to my Chaos faction.

"Stay back, this one’s too strong for you to handle...leave this to ," Remarked Francesca, gesturing to to stand back.

Oh, right, as far as she and everyone else at Harmony knows, I’m not nearly as powerful as I actually am...no sense in blowing my cover, at least not yet.

"Okay...I wish I could help, but I’ll only get in your way. You can do this, I believe in you," I replied with an encouraging smile.

On the contrary, she absolutely can’t do this...she’s an unstoppable force of nature against most other ta-Humans, but against a more sneaky opponent like this one, it’s a really bad match up for her fighting style.

She let out a roar as she shot towards Maya with her fist raised, driving it down towards her head as she closed in on her. Without moving so much as a muscle, Maya turned intangible, Francesca’s fist harmlessly whizzing through her.

"Co on, surely you can do better than that?" Smirked Maya, as she turned her fist tangible and slamd it onto Francesca’s midsection, but it had little effect.

"Hah, and surely you can do better than such weak punches?" Scoffed Francesca in response, as she swung again, but Maya simply turned intangible once more to avoid the attack.

"Why, yes, I can...," She chuckled, as the force of the whiffed punch send Francesca stumbling forward a bit as she lost her balance.

Maya then swiftly slipped behind her, plunged her hand into Francesca’s back and presumably grabbed hold of her heart, as she let out a strained gasp.

"Wh-what...?" Francesca stuttered in alarm.

"Now, die," Grinned Maya, as she crushed her heart, blood pouring out of Francesca’s mouth, right as she drove her elbow back and slamd it square onto the middle of Maya’s face before she could turn intangible in ti...but it was already too late, Francesca was dead before her attack even hit its mark.

"That looks like it hurts," I remarked, as blood stread down Maya’s nostrils and she stumbled with a dazed groan.

"Tch, I-I got careless...well, no matter, it’s inconsequential in the end. A small price to pay for the elimination of such a dangerous enemy...well, not that she was particularly dangerous to ," She muttered in response, before shifting her attention to , "Well, that just leaves you...hmph, you seem awfully calm for soone who just witnessed one of their Category 0s being killed so easily. What, have you made peace with the fact that you’re about to die by my hand?"

She doesn’t know that I’m Anarchy, the informant who fed Eden information about Harmony and the ta-Orb Project.

"Oh, on the contrary...you’re the one who’s going to die by my hand," I smirked darkly in response.

"Well, now, that’s quite the change in deanor you’re displaying from before I killed this one...have you lost your mind or sothing?" She laughed in amusent.

"Who can say? And I have no reason to say anything to a dead woman," I responded, as I ford an orb of Dark and Light Blasts combined.

"Huh? What’s that?" She frowned, as she warily stepped back.

"Sothing that you’re very much right to be wary of...not that your caution will save you though!" I exclaid, as I sprang back and fired it at her.

"It’s no use, I-...!" She began as she turned intangible...before being abruptly cut off as the contradictory blast exploded by her midsection, tearing her body apart and killing her instantly, evaporating a chunk of Francesca’s corpse in the process.

"You’re right, it was of no use...your intangibility, that is. The combination of Dark and Light, sothing that should be impossible...I don’t know how or why I developed both the opposing Skills, sothing that has apparently never happened before, but I’m grateful that I did. There’s nothing quite like it.

I call it my Chaos Blast...it defies reason, it seems to be a normal explosion at first glance, but it’s true beauty lies in the fact that it’s absolutely impossible to defend against.

Be it intangibility, or the most powerful shield possible by any of the Elental Skill types, they’re inconsequential in the face of this attack. Hm, not sure why I’m explaining this, since you’re already dead," I remarked, as I walked over towards her body, torn in two.

I’d used a pretty small Chaos Blast, and it still did this much damage...I suppose I should comnd Mike and Trevor for managing to survive the much bigger Chaos Blast I fired at them back in Sri Lanka.

Now, then...let’s wipe out everyone inside the room up ahead, shall we?

I headed towards the door and kicked it in, to see five Eden mbers inside with alard looks on their faces, which quickly turned to panic as they saw the corpse of their Category 0 laying on the ground in two halves.

I wasted no ti in killing four of them, sparing the one with the most cowardly look on his face, before strolling over towards him with a casual smile on my face.

"S-stay back, p-please don’t kill !" He cried in terror, as I stood over him.

"How about a trade? Your life for so information. Tell ...where exactly are the secret exits in this place? Or, more specifically, where they lead out to? I want the exact distance down to the last ter, so be precise. Tell that, and I’ll let you live," I smirked as I reached down and lightly stroked the side of his face with the back of my fingers while staring keenly into his eyes, which were trembling with fear.

"O-okay, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know, just please spare !" He exclaid in response, before falling over himself to answer my question, rapidly tapping away on one of the computers in the room and bringing up the information I wanted.

Once he brought up the information and showed it to , I briefly asked him a few more questions to make things easier for , until I was satisfied.

"Hm, got it...so, a total of four secret exits, huh? Thanks a lot. As promised, you get to live," I smiled, as I struck the side of his neck, knocking him out.

Sparing soone like him is of absolutely no consequence whatsoever. I then took out my phone and called Glenn, who picked up after a couple of rings.

"Yes? Is it ti?"

"Mhm, that’s right. I’m sharing my live location with you, co to my coordinates right away," I inford him.

After a few seconds, a portal opened up and he stepped out, nodding as I gestured to the computer screen with the information regarding the exits.

"Okay, I got it...one exit each at north, south, east and west from this location, I’ll open portals at about ten ters from the total distance where each is located, just to be safe," He remarked, after a brief glance at the screen.

"Take us to the northern exit first. According to this guy, that’s the one closest to where their higher ups were located, so that’s probably the one that they’ve used to escape," I instructed him, before he nodded and opened a portal.

As we walked through it and erged out the other end, I spotted several figures fleeing up ahead, a few dozen ters in front of us.

And sure enough, there were a number of them who looked on the older side, being escorted by the rest. Bingo.

I swiftly took aim as I ford a massive Chaos Blast and fired it out at them, which caught up to them and exploded as it converged onto them, killing them all before they could even cry out.

But, uh, I might have made the blast a bit too big, as the sheer force of the shockwave upon explosion sent Glenn and I flying back like ragdolls, hurtling towards the side of the cliff where the exit was hidden along.

I just barely managed to form a thick pool of water behind us to soften the blow and prevent us from going splat upon the rocks.

"Hehe, close one," I chuckled, as we fell onto the ground, completely soaked.

"Th-that was way too excessive, we almost died!" Exclaid Glenn in alarm, as he grabbed my left shoulder and shook .

"Yup, noted, I’ll use smaller blasts than that one from now on," I grinned sheepishly, before adding as I stood back up, "Now, then...let’s head to the southern exit next, shall we?"
