Chapter 938: 0912 You are not humble at all

Nan Shuyun’s eyes also flashed with a trace of confusion. President Su has always been a very punctual person. Although their flight is at ten in the morning, and it’s now seven, so ti isn’t too tight, President Su always likes to prepare in advance to avoid any problems. A situation like today has never happened before.

The two waited a few more minutes, and fortunately, it wasn’t long before Su Ran ca down after getting ready.

Seeing Ye Zhichen and Nan Shuyun sitting on the sofa didn’t surprise her. Instead, she calmly greeted them, though her voice was a bit low.

“Have you had breakfast?”

“Yes, we have.”

“Yes, we have,” the two replied in unison.

“President Su, did you work late last night? You look tired,” Nan Shuyun asked when she noticed that Su Ran’s complexion wasn’t good, and she couldn’t help but silently marvel at how difficult it was to be a boss.

To be well-rested and in the best possible state for departure, they had gone to bed early last night, but their big boss, President Su, was still quietly working overti. Indeed, the greater a person’s ability, the greater their responsibility. Being a boss wasn’t easy.

Su Ran was slightly stunned and said “hmm” vaguely.

Ye Zhichen couldn’t help but chuckle upon hearing this, overti?

She was indeed working overti, except…

This “overti” was of a different sort.

After breakfast, Su Ran and Nan Shuyun headed straight for the airport. Ye Zhichen didn’t go with them; instead, a driver arranged by Su Ran took her directly to the company.

Ling Qingan didn’t go to Platinum Lanting but planned to et Su Ran directly at the airport, so by the ti Su Ran and Nan Shuyun arrived, Ling Qingan and Zhou Ziyi had already been waiting there for so ti.

“President Su.”

Upon seeing Su Ran, Zhou Ziyi quickly greeted her, while Ling Qingan didn’t say anything but nodded slightly.

Su Ran, knowing her character, didn’t mind and nodded slightly in return.

“Have you been here long?”

Zhou Ziyi shook his head with a smile, saying, “We just got here not long ago.”

“Okay, let’s go then.”

After checking in their luggage and clearing security, they waited at the boarding gate.

Su Ran leaned back in her chair, eyes slightly closed. Ling Qingan looked at her seeming fatigue and teased:

“So languid, didn’t sleep well last night?”

Upon hearing this, Su Ran opened her eyes and t Ling Qingan’s aningful gaze. She rolled her eyes and said, “Very well.”

Ling Qingan chuckled, “I think it was very well indeed.”

Su Ran looked at her puzzled, without saying a word.

Ling Qingan extended her slender fingers, gently touching the marks exposed on Su Ran’s neck due to her head’s position, then gave her an ambiguous smile.

“Looks like your President Fu… took good care of you.”

As she spoke, her delicate eyebrows curved slightly, a shallow smile played on her lips, and her soft voice carried words that seed ordinary but were filled with unique charm due to the teasing undertone.

Su Ran was montarily stunned, quickly realizing what was going on. However, she was not one to blush easily. She raised an eyebrow and retorted:

“Were you dissatisfied with the service before from Wen…?”

At the ntion of Wen Jichen, Ling Qingan’s expression remained unchanged and calm. Instead, she seriously considered Su Ran’s question and replied:

“Not bad.”

Not bad?

In the past, Wen Jichen’s treatnt of Ling Qingan was more than just “not bad.”

Even if she wanted the stars in the sky, that man would have unhesitatingly reached for them.

If Ling Qingan’s carefree, willful nature was half a product of her privileged family, the other half was due to the man nad Wen Jichen.

Wen Jichen once indulged Ling Qingan to the point of no restraint, so much so that many people, upon ntioning one of them, would naturally think of the other.

Everyone in Yong City used to know that Wen Jichen was destined to marry the girl nad Ling Qingan and that Ling Qingan was Wen Jichen’s only choice.

And now…

Tis have changed, and things are different!

“You’re not humble at all,”

Ling Qingan remarked animatedly, with a slight curve to her lips, “Humility? Can you eat that stuff?”

“…” Su Ran was speechless.

She felt like the person in front of her seed sowhat different than before.

The previous Ling Qingan was ethereal, feeling distant, but the current Ling Qingan seed more grounded.

“Looks like you can’t be expected to be bound by moral character anymore.”

“Morals?” Ling Qingan raised an eyebrow, chuckling softly, “I don’t have those, nor do I want them.”

“Then what do you want?” Su Ran asked.

“Money.”

The word “money” can sound harsh, often labeled as vulgar or materialistic, but from Ling Qingan’s mouth, it ca as a matter of course, justified, and upright.

“You’ve fallen into the money pit?”

“You don’t understand the life of the poor. I need to live.”

Ling Qingan wasn’t shy about ntioning her current situation. She didn’t think a thin veil of modesty could cover up the fact that the Ling Family had fallen.

She looked a bit wistfully at Su Ran, “Not everyone is like you, smart and capable, managing your company like clockwork while also developing both Chongguang and Enrich vibrantly. If I had your skills, the Ling Family would have made a coback long ago.”

“Hmm…” Su Ran furrowed her brow, touching her chin, seriously pondering Ling Qingan’s statent, “That might be true.”

Ling Qingan couldn’t help but be speechless, looking at her with a black line across her face.

“You’re not humble either.”

Su Ran waved her hand, “It’s not too bad.”

Nan Shuyun and Zhou Ziyi, listening to their conversation, couldn’t help but feel their lips twitch.

Honestly, you two are six of one, half a dozen of the other. You shouldn’t speak ill of each other.

The two chatted for a while, and as boarding ti approached, Ling Qingan checked the electronic boarding pass on her phone and, holding her ID card, walked with Su Ran and the others towards the boarding gate.

Just as she turned around, before she could take a step, a series of urgent and disorderly footsteps sounded behind her. Soon, a deep and sowhat sinister voice pierced through the air.

“Ling Qingan, dare you leave!!”

As the words fell, her right wrist was suddenly grasped by soone. With a slight tug, her back collided with a firm and solid chest.

Even without turning around, Ling Qingan knew who it was from the familiar clean and fresh scent behind her.

Her restrained wrist twitched, but her waist was tightly encircled by the man. The more she struggled, the tighter his grip beca.

With the two so close, Ling Qingan turned around from the man’s embrace and raised her eyes, instantly eting a pair of dark red, cold eyes.

Her heart couldn’t help but skip a beat, but her expression remained unchanged, not showing the slightest hint of a crack.

“Do you have sothing to say?”

Wen Jichen reached out, pinching her delicate chin, observing her calm and unflustered expression, his fingers tightening slightly.

He pulled her chin a few inches closer, his eyes slightly narrowed, filled with a dangerous bloodthirsty intent.

“Where are you planning to go? Hmm?”
