Major Kyle didn't question Sylas but turned towards the truck and said, "Hurry up, it's not safe here."
The soldiers responsible for repairing the truck imdiately got out of it after seeing that the hornets were dealt with.
Sylas didn't let his guard down. His senses were constantly sweeping through the surroundings. He was still worried about that zombie that had disappeared suddenly.
The soldiers stood guard vigilantly as the truck was being repaired.
Luckily, nothing happened after that, but Sylas narrowed his eyes as he looked at the forest. The forest here gave him an unsettling feeling.
"Let's go," Major Kyle said.
The sun had already set, and darkness had settled in when the cars started moving once again.
Sylas drove at the rear as usual. He was still tense as he constantly paid attention toward the back. After he had confird that he seed to attract high-level zombies, he was extra cautious. Since that high-level zombie had mysteriously disappeared, he was worried that it would follow him. But after driving for a long ti, he didn't sense anything.
As usual, they took turns driving, resting, sleeping, and guarding throughout the night, except for Sylas.
When they passed by a small village the next day, the sun had already risen.
There were a few zombies scattered around the village.
The soldiers shot down the low-level zombies walking on the road.
Sylas looked around the village as he spread out his senses, scanning for possible threats.
They didn't encounter any high-level zombies as they passed through the village.
The village was in ruins.
They safely got out of the village. Sylas, who was at the back keeping a distance, was the last to drive through the village gate. But just when he got out of the village gate, he imdiately frowned because he sensed a strong presence coming toward him.
He imdiately stopped his car. He didn't want to endanger the rest of the people, so it was better for him to deal with it alone. Moreover, he could sense that it had locked onto him. Whatever it was, it was coming for him. He had attracted yet another high-level creature.
Sylas got out of the car and looked in the direction where he sensed the presence. From far away, Sylas saw a huge bull coming toward him from the field.
'High-level mutated bull,' Sylas thought as he observed the bull.
The bull was black in color, and its horns were big and shiny. Its muscles were bulging as it ran toward him. The bull's red eyes were fixed on Sylas. The hooves of the bull were leaving deep marks on the ground. Steam snorted from its flared nostrils as it charged toward Sylas.
Sylas imdiately raised a space barrier to block the bull's attack. The curved horns of the bull slamd against the space barrier, forcing Sylas back.
'So strong,' Sylas thought as he directly condensed a compressed spatial blade and sent it out. At the sa ti, earth energy surged out from his feet and surged toward the mutated bull.
The ground below the mutated bull beca loose, and it stumbled down. The compressed spatial blade rushed out at the sa ti, aiming at the mutated bull's neck.
The mutated bull let out a thunderous bellow when it stumbled down and raised its head to et the compressed spatial blade head-on.
Clang!
The compressed spatial blade hit the mutated bull's horns.
'What the hell!' Sylas thought as he looked at the mutated bull with a shocked expression.
The compressed spatial blade was blocked by the mutated bull's horns without causing any damage.
'Just how tough is that horn,' Sylas thought as he imdiately controlled his earth energy and several stone spikes burst out from beneath the ground, aiming at the mutated bull.
The mutated bull snorted violently as it shook its head frantically. The stone spikes were easily turned into dust by the mutated bull's horns.
Fragnts of shattered stone scattered across the ground.
Sylas' eyes darkened.
The bull lowered its head again and charged forward with terrifying montum. Its hooves crushed the broken stones beneath it as if they were nothing more than sand.
Boom!
The mutated bull's massive body slamd into Sylas' space barrier once more.
The barrier rippled violently.
Sylas felt a sharp pressure travel through his arms and into his chest as he held the barrier steady.
'Its physical strength is too high,' Sylas thought, narrowing his eyes.
He stomped his foot lightly against the ground, and instantly earth energy surged outward again.
The soil beneath the bull instantly hardened, turning into compacted rock. At the sa ti, thick stone pillars rose upward in an attempt to trap the bull from the sides. But the mutated bull reacted quickly. It twisted its strong and powerful body and slamd its horns sideways.
Crack!
One of the stone pillars shattered upon impact. The second pillar was barely ford before the bull's shoulder smashed into it, breaking it apart. The ground trembled violently from the force.
Sylas imdiately shifted tactics. He did not give the bull another chance to build montum. With a thought, several compressed spatial blades ford silently around him, then he flicked his fingers.
The blades shot forward at different angles, targeting the bull's legs and torso.
The bull let out a deep bellow and raised its head. Two blades collided with its horns again.
Clang! Clang!
Sparks flew from the impact. The horns were unbelievably tough. But the other blades...
Slash!
A shallow cut appeared across the bull's thick shoulder hide, and dark blood sprayed into the air. The mutated bull roared in anger. Its red eyes burned brighter as it locked onto Sylas even more fiercely. It did not retreat; instead, it charged again. This ti, much faster than before. The ground exploded under its hooves as it accelerated.
Sylas' pupils shrank.
He raised both hands and reinforced the space barrier, thickening its layers.
Boom!!!
The bull crashed into it with full force, and the space barrier trembled violently. Cracks of distortion rippled across its surface as Sylas was pushed back several ters. The bull did not stop. It kept pushing forward with its horns pressed against the barrier, muscles bulging and veins throbbing.
'If this continues, the barrier will break,' Sylas assessed quickly.
He shifted his weight and suddenly dissolved the barrier at the exact mont the bull applied its heaviest force. The bull stumbled forward as resistance vanished. At the sa ti, Sylas stepped to the side.
Earth energy erupted instantly.
The ground beneath the bull turned soft again like quicksand, and the bull's front legs sank deep into the earth. Before it could react, jagged stone restraints wrapped tightly around its limbs. The bull thrashed violently, and cracks ford along the stone bindings.
Sylas hurriedly gathered spatial energy in both hands and condensed a compressed spatial blade with a strong concentration of space energy.
The air around him distorted visibly. He aid at the bull's exposed side where blood was already seeping. The blade shot forward like a beam.
Slash!
This ti, the compressed spatial blade cut deeper, and a long gash tore across the bull's rib area.
Blood splattered onto the ground.
The bull let out an enraged, thunderous bellow.
Boom!
With a violent surge of strength, it ripped its front legs free from the loosened earth. The stone restraints shattered into pieces. Its back legs kicked hard against the unstable ground and launched its massive body upward. Despite its size, its leap was shockingly explosive.
Sylas' eyes narrowed.
He imdiately raised another space barrier just in ti.
Boom!!!
The bull crashed down against it mid-air. The impact sent shockwaves across the surroundings. Dust rose everywhere.
Sylas' breathing grew heavier.
The bull landed back on the ground, shaking its head. Blood dripped from its wounds, but it showed no sign of weakening. Instead, it seed even more furious.
Sylas imdiately condensed three spatial blades at once and aid them at the sa wounded area.
They shot forward in perfect alignnt.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
The blades dug into the existing wound, deepening it significantly. A large chunk of flesh tore open. The bull roared in agony, and its charge faltered. But it still did not fall. Its eyes were bloodshot, and foam ford near its mouth as it snorted violently.
It stomped the ground hard.
Boom!
Cracks spread across the earth.
Seeing that the mutated bull was about to make a move on him, Sylas imdiately extended both hands forward. Earth energy surged out in waves, and the ground around the bull rose upward in a circular formation, forming a half-do of rock around it.
The bull slamd its horns against the rising stone wall.
Crack!
The wall shattered on one side.
Sylas vanished from his previous spot and reappeared closer. His speed was so fast that in the eyes of a normal human, it looked like he teleported.
Before the bull fully broke through, he condensed the most concentrated spatial blade he could manage. The air around it vibrated violently. He did not aim at the horns or at the shoulder. Instead, he aid directly beneath the jaw where the hide was thinner.
The bull burst through the broken rock wall at that exact mont and lunged at him.
Sylas thrust his hand forward.
The compressed spatial blade shot out, aid at the mutated bull's jaw.
Slash!!!
