Chapter 69: "Alchemy" on Moon Gaze Peak, The Commotion Was a Bit Loud
"Nephew has no choice!"
Li ng reached out, brazenly wrapping his arm around Senior Qu's slender waist and pulling her close.
Qu Rou shot him a cold glance.
This old man truly had no end to his antics. Where did a dying man get all this energy?
...
Ti flew by, day after day.
Li ng's days on Cloud Peak were surprisingly pleasant. When he wasn't "cultivating" with Senior Qu, he would simply watch her.
Senior Qu was a cultivation maniac. She was either ditating on the stone platform by the cliff or ditating on the bed in the loft pavilion. Even with Li ng's disruptive presence, her daily routine remained largely unchanged.
Every morning, Li ng would sit at the stone table in the pavilion, sipping tea while his gaze fixed on the figure near the cliff edge.
Recalling the dostic tranquility of the past few weeks, a faint smile touched the corner of Li ng's mouth. Though "Root Strengthening" through their unique thod was exhausting, it was worth every drop of sweat. His foundation, once leaky and unstable from rapid advancent, was now as solid as bedrock.
Li ng stood up from his seat.
He strolled out of the pavilion, took a deep breath of the mountain air, and then soared into the sky on his sword.
The elderly figure plunged into the sea of clouds, leaving the peak behind.
On the stone platform, Qu Rou opened her eyes. A trace of lancholy flashed within them as she sensed his departure.
"Is Nephew Li finally going into seclusion for his Foundation Establishnt breakthrough?"
She frowned. If he was entering life-or-death seclusion, wouldn't staying on Cloud Peak be safer? Did he not trust her to guard him?
"Hmph, go die for all I care!"
Qu Rou closed her eyes again, attempting to return to the void of ditation.
But after a short while, she opened them once more, unable to settle her heart. She rose to her feet.
Her graceful figure soared into the clouds like an immortal riding the wind, following the trail he left behind.
Inner Sect, Moon Gaze Peak.
Li ng arrived, riding his sword through the mist. The clouds surrounding the peak parted of their own accord, creating a tunnel for him. He flew inside without hesitation.
Just as his figure vanished into the misty rain, another graceful figure arrived from afar.
"This is... Moon Gaze Peak?"
Qu Rou hovered outside the array, gazing at the swirling clouds in confusion.
How could Nephew Li enter a Golden Core Senior's cave abode so freely? Moon Gaze Peak belonged to Ruoshui, a notorious ice queen.
It was only then that Qu Rou realized a startling truth: She knew nothing about this "little old man" nephew of hers. Apart from his monstrous talent in Alchemy, his background remained a blank slate. She had never bothered to ask, too consud by her own cultivation.
Inside Moon Gaze Peak.
"What a bargain-basent Master I have!"
Li ng descended, landing on the stone platform before the main pavilion.
He had been gone for weeks, yet his so-called Master hadn't returned even once. The dust on the windowsills told the story.
Li ng didn't enter the pavilion. It was his Master's private quarters, and even he had limits. Instead, he settled onto a flat stone platform by the lakeside.
He ford hand seals with a snap. A high-grade alchemy furnace flew out from his storage pouch, landing on the ground with a heavy, resonant thump!
Li ng’s hands moved in a blur, his body radiating five-colored spiritual light. The runic arrays etched into the furnace ignited, followed closely by a roar of flas springing to life within.
With a wave of his sleeve, over ten jade bottles filled with refined dicinal liquid flew into the fire.
Soon, the air around the furnace began to distort and shimr. Waves of heat rolled out in all directions, scorching the surrounding grass. Sweat beaded on Li ng's forehead, but his focus never wavered.
Three hours later...
"The Mana reserves of Peak Qi Condensation are still too low!"
Li ng grabbed a bottle of pills and poured them directly into his mouth, chewing them like candy. One precious flawless recovery pill after another disappeared down his throat, fueling the endless drain of the furnace.
"Pills... Foundation Establishnt... Pills... Foundation Establishnt..."
Li ng muttered like a man possessed, his face contorted with exertion as he glared into the heart of the fire. All his Mana surged into the furnace like a tidal wave.
A vast area around him beca enveloped in a radiant, five-colored glow.
The next morning.
A strange, potent dicinal fragrance suddenly erupted from within Moon Gaze Peak. It was so intense that even the surrounding Cloud Mist Array couldn't contain it.
"What an incredible fragrance! Who is refining pills?"
"Just slling it clears my mind! It must be a top-grade pill!"
Passing Foundation Establishnt cultivators stopped in mid-air, sniffing the wind. The scent was miraculous—it actually caused their cultivation bases to stir. Those stuck at bottlenecks felt their barriers loosening slightly.
"This... soone is refining Dustfall Pills!"
"Dustfall Pills? No wonder my bottleneck feels looser!"
"Hurry and ditate! This is a free opportunity!"
More and more Inner Sect disciples were drawn by the scent. Soon, over ten Foundation Establishnt cultivators hovered in the sky around Moon Gaze Peak, sitting cross-legged on their swords or artifacts, greedily absorbing the dicinal overflow.
Just then, two streaks of light sped over from afar.
As they dissipated, a man and a woman appeared, hovering gracefully above the crowd.
"Oh? When did Senior Sister Ruoshui learn alchemy?"
Wen Huanhuan gave a charming laugh, nestling into her husband's embrace. She inhaled deeply, savoring the fragrance with an expression of utter intoxication.
"Mmm... Husband. This quality is almost flawless, isn't it?"
Han Li held his wife close, his expression impassive as he observed the mist-veiled peak.
"It's still lacking slightly. But close."
"Husband, do you think it could be Senior Sister Ruoshui?"
"No," Han Li answered without hesitation.
Wen Huanhuan pursed her lips into a smirk. "Oh my. Where did Senior Sister manage to hook up with such an Alchemist? He's even living in her cave abode now."
Suddenly, another streak of light shot across the sky, its montum terrifying. Before its owner arrived, the crushing pressure of a Golden Core cultivator slamd down on the area.
An elegant figure clad in purple palace robes appeared, hovering before the peak. She wore a translucent veil, her peerless beauty faintly discernible beneath it. Her figure was curvaceous—full in front and behind—with an exquisitely slender waistline. Even from afar, she radiated an overwhelming, icy beauty.
She cast only a brief, dismissive glance toward Han Li and Wen Huanhuan, then transford into an azure-blue streak of light that shot straight toward Moon Gaze Peak.
Before she even reached the barrier, the clouds parted to welco her.
"So it really is Senior Sister's little man?"
Wen Huanhuan covered her mouth in exaggerated surprise, though her eyes remained sharp and calculating.
Ruoshui, the ice queen, would rather die than seek out a man for help. Why would she suddenly house a strange Alchemist now?
"Husband... have you found that person yet?" Wen Huanhuan whispered, looking up at her husband's handso face.
Han Li's expression darkened slightly.
"I... dare not search."
"Why not?"
"Because of the warning from Masked Moon Peak."
Wen Huanhuan frowned, narrowing her eyes.
"It seems that person truly does have close ties with the Ancestor."
She sighed softly, nuzzling closer against her husband's chest, her mind racing with implications.
