Shun lay on his bed, but before entering the arena, he rembered sothing he needed to do. Since the Tokyo tournant had ended, Shun hadn't had ti to check the Star Store missions, so he quickly opened the system screen and went straight to the missions tab.

"Wow!" - Shun exclaid as he looked at the system screen, amazed at how much he had accomplished. At that mont, Shun could only anxiously imagine how many stars all of this would earn him and what kind of reward he might get.

Since Shun hadn't touched the Star Store since the beginning of the Tokyo tournant, the total number of stars was bound to be impressive, especially considering he had also completed several Tournant Objectives and earned their respective rewards.

Luckily, Shun didn't have to wait long to find out how many stars he would receive, as a notification from the system quickly echoed in his mind.

[DING]

[The user has stars to claim. Would the user like to claim all available stars?

Yes/No]

"Yes!" - Shun said quickly.

[The user has claid 1866 stars.]

"Damn!" - Shun almost shouted as he saw the number of stars he had received. Wasting no ti, he imdiately opened the Star Store to check what rewards he could get.

[Star Store:

The user can earn stars according to their performance in matches. The user's stars can be exchanged for rewards.

Stars: 1929

Bronze Reward = 10 Stars

Silver Reward = 100 Stars

Gold Reward = 1000 Stars

Legendary Reward = 10000 Stars

The user can exchange as many rewards as they want as long as they have the necessary stars.]

"Gold Reward!" - Shun didn't hesitate to choose the highest reward his stars could afford. He was extrely excited to see what kind of reward he would receive.

[Would the user like to exchange 1000 stars for a Gold Reward?

Yes/No]

"Yes!" - Shun agreed enthusiastically.

[DING]

[The user has received a quirk (No Luck).]

[No Luck

Decreases the chance of hitters making lucky contact against the user's pitches.]

"Huh?" - Shun stared blankly at the system screen in front of him, reading and rereading the description of his new quirk in disbelief.

It wasn't that this new quirk was bad, on the contrary, it seed quite useful, but when Shun thought about the fact that it had cost 1000 stars, he felt a bit regretful. He had been hoping to get sothing that would make a significant difference in the Kanto tournant, and this "No Luck" quirk probably wouldn't have much of an impact. After all, it wasn't common to see lucky hits against Shun's sliders.

"Ah, forget it. It's not a bad quirk for to complain about. But next ti, I better save more stars to get the Legendary Reward." - Shun consoled himself before stopping his train of thought. Naturally, after receiving a quirk that wasn't as impactful as he had hoped, Shun lost so faith in the Gold Reward and decided to save more stars next ti to earn the Legendary Reward and get sothing truly remarkable.

[Hmph! Have you finished wasting ti, boy? Get to the arena training center already!]

The impatient voice of the old man echoed in Shun's mind, making the boy sigh as he entered the arena. Even though he didn't like taking orders from the old man, he disliked arguing with him even more. Besides, he really needed to head to the training center to learn how to adjust the timing of his pitching motion.

Thus, Shun spent the rest of the night in the training center, listening to the old man's instructions as he tried to master this new technique. When he grew tired of working on that, he practiced his normal pitches against his legendary training partner, the hologram of the baseball legend José Martínez, and continued improving his proficiency with his slider.

Three days later, on Thursday morning...

Shun was woken up by the system and quickly got out of bed after using a basic recovery potion. The boy went downstairs and left the house for his morning run. For about two hours, he ran while various thoughts passed through his mind.

Tomorrow would mark the first day of the Kanto tournant, which would begin with a doubleheader for those who managed to survive the first round. No matter how much Shun had prepared for the tournant, it was undeniable that he was a bit nervous. After all, this was the tournant he had trained hard for over an entire year.

Fortunately, Shun had made so significant progress over the past week, which boosted his confidence slightly. Additionally, the tournant bracket had already been released, and Shun knew who Shoto's first opponent would be. Unfortunately, it was a team from another prefecture that Shun had no information about. Even so, he had complete confidence in Shoto Junior High School's baseball team to win the Kanto Tournant.
