I exhaled deeply, feeling the weight of exhaustion and… sothing more.

"Damn it." I muttered under my breath. Despite everything…

…I still wanted more.

But we have been at it all night!

This was madness.

Fuck this living drug!

"Oh~ It seems you haven't had enough of ," she teased, her voice like honey, as she leaned over . Both hands rested on my chest, her saccharine smile accentuating the faint glow of her erald eyes in the dim light.

"Tsk. You really just had to make fall this hard, didn't you?" I muttered, squinting at her with a mix of frustration and helplessness. It felt like I'd stumbled into an eternal trap—one she had no intention of letting escape.

"Oh?" She tilted her head, biting her lip seductively. "Whatever do you an?" Her voice was sultry, dripping with mischief, as she leaned in and nibbled on my lower lip, pulling into a slow, tantalizing kiss.

I lted into the mont, but then, abruptly…

… I felt control return to .

"Huh?" I blurted, blinking in confusion.

She giggled and placed a delicate finger on my lips "The barrier I placed to keep the sounds in just broke," she murmured, her breath warm against my ear. "And you still have class in an hour." Her voice dropped to a sultry whisper, "Maybe… when you co back."

For a mont, it felt like she had under a spell.

"Tch," I muttered, shaking my head. She really had wrapped around her little finger.

"Oh, don't look so upset, Master." Her grin widened as she purred, "I'll make sure to fulfill all your wildest fantasies… with ti."

…Enough is enough.

I grabbed her and swiftly flipped us over, pinning her beneath . Our eyes t, and I let a smirk creep onto my lips.

"Don't think you can do whatever you like just because you caught off guard once," I said, my hands firmly gripping her soft curves. I leaned closer, my lips brushing against her ear. "This ti, it'll be punishing a disobedient little slave."

Instead of flinching, her grin only deepened.

Why do I feel like I just fell deeper into the trap?

"Nelia," I said, my tone suddenly serious. Her expression shifted, noticing the change.

"Yes?" she replied, her voice soft but curious.

"I want to ask you sothing," I began, hesitating for a mont. "It might be a sensitive topic."

She sighed, her playfulness fading. "It's about the extinction of the Fairy race, isn't it?" she asked, her mood darkening.

I hesitated again, not wanting to push her. "If you're not ready to talk about it—"

"It's alright," she cut off, placing her finger on my lips. "I just… hate revisiting the past." Her eyes glistened with unshed tears as she t my gaze, her sadness tugging at sothing deep inside .

"What happened?" I asked gently.

It had been weighing on my mind for a long ti. In the novel, the Fairies were said to be extinct.

But how? What destroyed them? Was it the demons? Or had the gods themselves played a hand in their demise?

She was silent for a mont, her gaze distant. Then, finally, she spoke.

"The Fairies… they aren't extinct," she said quietly.

I froze. "Really?" I asked, disbelief laced in my tone.

Tears welled up in her eyes and began to spill down her cheeks. Gently, I cupped her face, wiping them away with my thumbs.

But why would the novel claim that they were extinct when they clearly weren't?

Co to think of it, the novel itself lacked logic in many places. For instance, how the world supposedly ended with the corruption spreading everywhere—no one was able to escape, and no one ever uncovered what the elves were hiding.

Well, Lucas eventually found out, but by that ti, most of the heroines had already t their end. Only he and Ariana, the main heroine, managed to escape to the other world.

And that was it.

That's where the last volu of the book ended.

I rembered hearing that the author had fallen into a coma and hadn't updated the story for four years. Fan groups were filled with nothing but speculations and baseless predictions. I even made a few theories of my own back then, but looking back, they were riddled with plot holes.

The author didn't even gloss over the other world; At the very least, that could've given readers a ntal image of what it looked like.

But…

I also rembered hearing rumors that, before the author fell into a coma, they had announced a new book—a continuation of Hero's Quest.

It was supposed to be called; The Plains of Asterix: The Hero's Return.

"...Yes. They aren't in this world, though. Just like the elves, they are in the higher realm," she said softly. Her slender hands instinctively curled around my back as she pulled into a tight hug, as though grounding herself through .

"Wait… Does that an there are more races in this higher realm?" I asked, my eyes widening.

Now it actually made sense.

There had never been an explanation for why they were said to be extinct.

"Then… why spread the story that they were extinct?" I pressed.

"Well, they needed a story—a suitable one to keep you all in the dark," she replied.

And just like that, sothing clicked.

Things were more complicated than I had thought.

"As I once told you, the fairies are the most favored beings in this world," she continued, her voice quiet. "But they aren't the only ones blessed by the Goddess of Life…"

"The elves," I murmured, and she nodded.

"The world wasn't destroyed by celestial gods," she explained. "No, it was destroyed by beings who attained godhood. And most of these beings were humans, vampires, or gyroids."

"What?!" I gasped, utterly incredulous.

"Yes," she said, her expression somber. "That angered the Goddess. She watched as her creations destroyed the world she had built, and in her fury, she decided to let them all perish with it. These species would always harbor greed and darkness in their hearts. However, she gave a way out to the fairies and the elves."

It began to make sense now.

So the Goddess of Life could have fixed the corrupted core of this world but chose not to?

Wait.

What if she was the one who corrupted the core in the first place?!

"She gave them a way to travel to another world," she continued. "The upper realm, as we call it. A world that, like this one, had been plagued by constant battles for dominance. But in that world, the humans were descendants of angels, and had nearly annihilated every other race. However, the Goddess of Life intervened, preserving the elves there.

"We were to join the elves of that realm in an alliance, along with the elves of this world, to wipe out the humans there."

I was speechless.

What?

WHAT?!

"That's how all of this started," she concluded. Her fingers brushed the earring I wore, a faint smile playing on her lips. "I was supposed to be a tool for that alliance, but… I ran away."

...

*Sighs*
