"To harness Aura, one must first possess an unbreakable will. Unlike Mana, which can be drawn from the atmosphere and converted into our own, Aura is created from the heart itself. It can only be done by forming what we call an Aura Heart," the professor rambled on.

His voice droned on, a relentless tide of information that I simply wasn't in the mood for. No, to be honest, I was bored out of my mind.

'Tsk. I should've just gone with Ryan instead…' I thought, resting my chin in my palm. 'No, scratch that. Alchemy classes are even worse. All those complicated talks about chemicals and reactions would've put to sleep in five minutes flat.'

No.

I should've dragged Ryan here with .

'Tsk. Why does not seeing him for half the day make feel this restless?' I glanced around at the chatter of my classmates. Even with all these girls around to talk to, I couldn't shake the ache of missing him. If he were here, I'd have sothing to focus on—teasing him, at the very least, would help alleviate this unbearable boredom.

Yeah. I definitely should've dragged him along.

But speaking of Ryan, it's probably ti I helped him get stronger. Sure, his current weakness had its quirks—I could drag him anywhere I want without resistance. But it also had its downsides. Like how stronger girls could take advantage of him.

Just like yesterday in combat class.

That Rizel bitch might think I didn't notice her, but I did. And she'll get what's coming to her. How dare she try to exploit his weakness? That little slut!

"Selena."

The sound of my na snapped out of my thoughts. I blinked and realized the professor had left the room.

Had I really zoned out for the entire lecture?

What ti is it?

I looked down at my ta-watch.

1:00 PM.

Finally.

So well-deserved break.

Hm.

Maybe I should sneak up on Ryan.

"Selena," the voice called again, and I turned to find a girl with platinum hair and blue eyes staring at .

"Ariana," I muttered.

"Lena, we're going to grab lunch. Coming?" one of the girls I'd been talking to earlier asked. I shook my head politely in refusal.

"No thanks. You guys go on without ," I said, waving them off as they walked out of the hall.

"What do you want?" I returned my gaze to Ariana, my tone anything but friendly.

"I just want to talk," she said, glancing around nervously.

What does she want?

"Say it. I have sowhere to be," I replied, gathering my stuff. But instead of answering, she slid a piece of paper onto the table.

I glanced at it, and in an instant, my expression turned serious.

"Follow . I know a place," I said.

But she shook her head. "I don't trust you. Instead, let's go to the cafeteria."

Tsk. Smart bitch.

She actually caught on. I can't believe I've let her live this long.

Damn it.

But I can't kill her just yet.

It would hurt him.

"Forget it, then," I said, brushing her off. She isn't much of a threat anyway.

"Alright. But don't bla for what happens next once I tell him," she said, turning to leave.

But in the next instant, she froze.

However, the area around her started to shift, freezing as she began resisting my ability.

"Don't test my patience, girl. I barely have any left."

Here I was again.

I couldn't help but feel this strange sense of déjà vu.

"Do you know what this is?" asked the man before —the vice principal, as I'd learned the last ti I was here.

However, to his question, I decided to remain silent since I knew absolutely nothing about that concoction. I didn't want to make things more complicated than they already were by pretending I knew.

If things got worse, I could just say it was a fluke.

My only mistake had been admitting in Alchemy class that I knew what it was. With everyone there as witnesses, it would be difficult to deny it now. However, that didn't an I was going to repeat that blunder. From now on, I would just keep my mouth shut—so problems solved themselves, anyway.

As for the potion itself…

It was just a random ss of chemicals and nonsense. I couldn't even recall what I'd done to arrive at that result.

"What am I even asking? You created it, so of course you should know what it is," he said with a smile, shaking his head.

For so reason, he seed more jovial than the last ti I was here. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that the smile on his face wasn't genuine.

"What I want to know, Ryan, is why you thought it was a good idea to make a bomb in class. Like, why, of all things, did you decide to create an intermolecular bomb? Why?" he asked, looking straight into my eyes, his gaze unwavering, his hands clasped together.

Wait.

A bomb?

Was that why Celestina had been looking at that way?

But… a bomb?

I an, I half-expected this, but…

A FREAKING BOMB?!?!

"If you had mistakenly infused even a drop of mana into it, the chain reaction would have begun, and in an instant, everyone in that hall would've been wiped out. Even the professor might not have survived it. But… I guess you didn't, since you already knew," he said.

I just remained silent. I didn't want to deny or agree to anything at this point.

"Say sothing, Ryan. This is a serious offense, and if you continue to remain uncooperative, I'll have no choice but to refer this to the principal herself. Trust , you won't like the outco of a eting with her," he said sternly.

I sighed. "I had a lot on my mind at the ti. I wasn't thinking clearly when I made it—my mind was elsewhere," I said, offering the most believable excuse I could co up with. "But I promise, it won't happen again."

I hope.

Okay, who am I kidding? If I keep dabbling in Alchemy, I might really burn down this entire school.

Maybe I should just focus on Necromancy as I'd originally planned—before I end up killing myself with this Alchemy nonsense.

I should just find a way to get close to Celestina and get her to create the potion for . That would be far less risky.

"Sigh. I really wish I could let you off with just that, like last ti, but…" he said, removing his glasses and placing them down.

Like hell! When had this bastard ever let off easily?!

"Fine. Here's what we'll do: just write out the recipe for the potion. I'll have it wrapped on the potion so it can be placed in safekeeping. That way, I can let you off with the excuse that you risked the lives of your fellow classmates as a contribution to the Academy."

Okay, at this point, I just have to know…

Is it my face? My getup? Or my entire existence?!

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK I'M AN IDIOT, FOR GOODNESS' SAKE?!
