Chapter 8: 108 (2)

Grabbing Kraken off the ground, I threw it at the demons.

A demon then unleashed a burst of fire at the little white blob.

Widening my eyes, the sight before

broke all expectations.

Kraken had absorbed the burst of flas by swallowing them, then unleashed them back at the small crowd of demons.

"Yes! Great job, my most precious skill!"

A few of the demons fell, which made

wonder how strong the demon who shot the fla was.

The demon mage then summoned pillars of fla from the ground, but Kraken only absorbed two of them before redirecting them back.

Kraken then dissipated in the air.

"What!"

Walking through the flas, the bastard of a demon smirked at .

The fire then cloaked itself around the demon.

In the blink of an eye, the demon was right in front of .

Being pulled back by Alleus, I barely dodged an attack.

The demon’s palm was giving off an imnse pressure.

I just know that if I got touched by its hands, my body would lt like chocolate.

"What’s the plan, partner?" Alleus asked, fear noticeable in her tone.

Thinking of countless plans within a span of re seconds as the demon mage began cloaking itself in fire, only one plausible plan ca to mind.

Because Professor Talus used a staff to use his magic, it must an that mages need a conductor to release their spells.

And since the demon wasn’t using anything, it must an that it was using its arms as the conductor.

If we could only manage to cut off its arms, then we’ll win.

"Take its right arm!"

Without much explanation, Alleus already got into a fighting position.

Running at the demon mage, I ducked and swung at its legs.

The demon jumped up to dodge.

However, Alleus jumped onto my back, landing on her hand and slashed at the demon’s arm, managing to cut off its right forearm.

Screeching, the demon covered its left arm on top of its lting palm and went for my head.

Pushing

down to the ground, Alleus jumped into the air off my back.

We narrowly dodged the attack.

Rolling to the side and jumping back to my feet, I raised my blade and lunged at the demon.

But when I closed the distance between us, the demon summoned pillars of fire from the ground, which made

pause in my tracks.

"Think, Ring, think..!"

Stabbing my sword into the ground, I took the top off my academy battle suit.

Picking up my sword, I dashed forward.

The demon unleashed a burst of fla from its hands at , which I dodged by sidestepping.

Once I reached the front of the demon, I wrapped my uniform top around its head with one hand.

After it wrapped around its head, I pulled the demon’s head down, redirecting its point of attack so that every ti it tried to shoot fire it would miss.

Feeling a slight tremor in the ground, I already knew that a fla pillar was going to explode, so I jumped back slightly while holding onto my top.

The pillar then exploded on the demon, and at the sa ti, my academy uniform top burned into smithereens.

As the pillar raged, I slashed vertically downwards with all my might at the demon’s shoulder.

The demon’s right arm, along with its shoulder, then ca off smoothly.

Opening its mouth, a ball of fire appeared in the demon’s mouth.

Before it could finish charging its attack, Alleus stabbed it in the neck from behind.

Shrieking, the demon then flew up with Alleus’ short sword in its neck, attempting to blend into the crimson sky.

What a stupid bastard.

It couldn’t blend in to my eyes because of the white window in the sky. It was the first ti that I had been glad about the fact that I was in a novel.

Pointing my blade downward, I waited.

Descending from the sky, the demon covered itself in flas.

When it was about to slam into , I moved out of the way and cut upward at its neck. My blade hit Alleus’ short sword in the sky, which she caught.

I won.

Falling to my knees, I looked up at the novel’s draft.

Seeing a smirk form on my face, Alleus asked

in a concerned tone:

"...What is it?"

"It’s almost over."

Chapter 108: A Sudden Surprise

...

After defeating hordes of red demons, Incus saw sothing approach them as a crushing aura neared.

"You must be their leader. Hail to you, cowardly fool," said Incus, mocking the demon for waiting until the very end to attack.

Whipping her hand to the side, she instructed:

"Steinen, kill any demons daring to pass. And Professor Talus, make sure to burn the corpses... I wouldn’t want another plague to hit us."

"Order," Steinen nodded.

"Absolutely... hero," Professor Talus gently smiled.

She then grabbed the water hero’s sword.

"Let’s not draw this out."

Cold smoke then escaped her breath.

"ExcaliFrost: Thousand Swords."

A cascade of ice swords then began to form behind her.

Extending her hand, she commanded them to pierce the demons.

The leader of the demons then stuck its hand into the ground, and when it pulled out, a giant sword made of earth appeared.

Swinging the massive sword, all of the ice swords were destroyed. But that’s what the demon thought had happened.

In truth, the demon had been pierced by over a hundred ice swords, its massive earth sword shattered in the encounter.

"I’ve defeated one of your generals. You think that you can just waltz up here and expect an easy fight? How foolish..."

***

Underneath the moon after the battle, a man was uncovering the leader of the red demons.

"You still have many purposes. That foolish Truthseeker, well... I suppose I should be thanking them, because they gave

so ti to prepare."

***

A day later, inside the battle stadium, the cheering of crowds appeared.
