Hansen made these brief remarks after winning the championship.
Though few, his words directly echoed his statents before the race, and it opened up the whole pattern as well.
This also drew thunderous cheers from the audience.
Even Curry and Thompson forgot their defeat, clapping and cheering for Hansen with approving faces.
Being able to make a show and return to the the, Hansen really is a college-educated man. His way of speaking is indeed different.
The three-point contest was emotionally stirring, but for the fans present, it was just a warm-up.
Because today, or even this entire All-Star weekend, the main event was about to begin.
What moves would LeBron, whom fans had "anticipated" for over a decade, bring out in the dunk contest?
Could Raven, who wasn’t highly followed last season but had graceful moves, defend his title?
Of course, the most important thing was, what moves would Hansen bring to the dunk contest?
Each one was attracting maximum attention!
Riding on the montum of the three-point contest, Kenny Smith turned up the show as well.
He interviewed Curry, who had a strong desire to dunk but ultimately didn’t make it to the dunk contest list.
"Who do you think will be this year’s Dunk King?"
Curry’s first reaction upon hearing this question was to shake his head.
It wasn’t that he didn’t know, it was just really hard to decide.
"I watched last season’s dunk contest, and logically, I think Raven will be the champion, but I believe Hansen will be the Dunk King."
"Why?" Smith pursued his reasoning.
"I don’t know, it’s just a dunker’s instinct."
Curry’s following remark drew a burst of laughter from the audience.
He sure is the mischievous student.
The venue filled with laughter, but at that mont on social dia, so LeBron fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Curry.
Why didn’t Curry ntion Jas at all?
Everyone knows Jas is the strongest real-world Dunk King!
The players were about to enter, and the introduction of the dunk contest judges was underway.
This year at the judges’ table were the "Big Shark" O’Neal, Mutombo, "Ice Man" George Gervin, "Magic Johnson", and McGrady.
The dunk contest in Toronto, everyone knew who should have really been the judge.
But since Carter left in a not-so-nice way and broke Canadian fans’ hearts, the Raptors would never invite him.
That should be the only regret of this year’s dunk contest.
After the judges were introduced, it was the players’ turn, and the cheering could not be contained.
The introduction of players was also their entry thod.
And during the introductions, Smith, like at the three-point contest, asked the players to make a pre-ga statent.
The first to be introduced was Aaron Gordon, perhaps the least conspicuous of all tonight’s competitors.
His declaration also resonated with this.
"After tonight, many people will know my na."
This prompted applause from the fans.
Indeed, having the courage to accept an invitation to this year’s dunk contest already spoke volus of Gordon’s bravery.
Next introduced was Raven.
Usually, defending champions are the last to co out, but this year was so unique that the title of defending champion didn’t weigh as much compared to the other two.
"I will bring out my best performance."
Raven’s style is explosive, but his character is sowhat shy.
However, many fans have seen his performance in the last dunk contest and know how high his level is.
Following Raven was Jas.
Jas’ declaration also perfectly displayed his persona.
"Winning or losing is not the most important, I hope everyone enjoys tonight’s ga."
The audience cheered for him as well.
Although he has not been successful over the years, the fact that Jas dared to participate in the dunk contest and face Hansen head-on, regardless of his motives, is still comndable.
Finally, it was Hansen.
Just like in the previous three-point contest, as soon as the microphone was passed to Hansen, the cheers had already erupted.
LeBron fans on social dia say Jas is the strongest real-world Dunk King, which is just like saying he’s the number one in the league "historically."
Because that title used to belong to Carter, and now it belongs to Hansen.
Even though dunking is just one of Hansen’s less conspicuous weapons in his arsenal, his real-world dunks, both in terms of difficulty and spectacle, are much stronger than Jas’s.
When the cheering subsided, Hansen finally had a chance to speak.
"I’m here."
The simplest words, yet they made the entire arena erupt.
Last year, he disappointed fans due to so reasons, but now, he was here!
After the pre-match declarations, the competition imdiately began.
Gordon, standing 2.03 ters tall with a wingspan of 2.13 ters, closely resembled Jas in build.
However, his jumping talent, an innate attribute, was much stronger than Jas’s, contributing many spectacular dunks in actual gas.
Of course, not many had paid attention before, as the NBA is a star-driven league, and the spotlight needs to focus on the stars, so not many knew about his dunking level.
With his earlier declarations, fans were curious and highly anticipatory.
