Hansen went to the airport to pick up Scarlett. The Grizzlies players had all gone ho to be with their families, including Rondo, who had returned to Miami.
So, he brought Scarlett straight to his place.
Since he was from East University, he wasn’t accustod to celebrating Christmas, but given that Scarlett had ntioned coming over for Christmas, he had asked Rondo to prepare so things in advance.
Things like a Christmas tree and turkey, Hansen didn’t quite understand, but it was enough that Rondo did.
Scarlett was surprised and delighted to see these items.
After dinner, Scarlett took an interested tour around Hansen’s place.
anwhile, Hansen went to retrieve the gift he had prepared from the storage room.
It was a big item.
Scarlett, watching Hansen dragging out the big item, was smiling with curiosity.
But when Hansen opened it and revealed the contents, her smile froze.
Hansen had brought out a Jurassic-thed tent.
"I didn’t know what you’d like."
He really didn’t know what gift to give, considering Scarlett didn’t lack money, and his relationship with her was more physical.
So he took the brute-force approach, scouring Scarlett’s social dia for her preferences.
Rembering that Scarlett often posted landscape photos and had ntioned enjoying traveling, Hansen finally settled on this gift.
But after he finished speaking, he noticed a strange ripple in Scarlett’s gaze.
Together, they set up the tent in the living room.
What Hansen hadn’t expected was that Scarlett would ask him to bring blankets so they could actually sleep inside that night.
This unforeseen suggestion made Hansen realize he had chosen the right gift.
Later, lying inside the tent with the lights out and only the moonlight from outside, the camping atmosphere erged instantly.
"When I was seven, I asked my father for a Jurassic World thed tent, and I set it up in the bedroom I shared with my sister. It was adorned with velociraptors and other dinosaurs that glowed in the dark. It gave a sense of security, and I slept in it for a whole year," Scarlett shared, resting on Hansen’s arm.
Her experience wasn’t particularly unusual; children lack a sense of security and often find solace in tents or other enclosed spaces.
The interesting part was, the randomly chosen tent the Hansen picked was the sa type that Scarlett had slept in as a child.
This explained Scarlett’s earlier expression; from her perspective, it was very romantic.
"Thank you, this is the best Christmas gift I’ve ever received."
Saying this, Scarlett picked up Hansen’s hand and kissed it.
Hansen looked slightly embarrassed at that mont.

Fortunately, in the moonlight, his expression wasn’t clear, and he wasn’t foolish enough to disturb the mood.
