Hansen felt slightly embarrassed when he heard this.
"That ’heard about’, those who get it, get it."
After the handshake, Hansen turned around to take a look.
It wasn’t until he saw that Durant wasn’t there that he rembered Durant was participating in the three-point contest for the second year in a row to vindicate his own three-point title. Since the Skills Challenge was just before the three-point contest, Durant should be backstage preparing.
Good thing he wasn’t there; otherwise, given Hansen’s relationship with Durant, who knows if they would end up fighting after this scene.
"Aren’t you playing today?" Scarlett initiated another conversation with him.
"I’m playing tomorrow." The ga hadn’t started yet, and there was nothing else to do, so Hansen casually chatted with her.
When the Skills Challenge started, Hansen shifted his attention to the court.
However, when he turned his head, he saw Scarlett resting her chin in her hand looking at him, which made him pause.
After the Skills Challenge ended, Conley was in stellar form and won the championship by beating Parker and Irving in the finals.
Hansen stood up and excitedly chest-bumped Conley in celebration. Winning this championship ant Conley’s trip to Orlando wasn’t in vain.
"Is he your teammate?" Hansen had just sat down when Scarlett struck up a conversation again.
Hansen nodded, looking puzzled.
Scarlett seed truly clueless about basketball, but why would she even be here if that was the case?
If it was the All-Star ga, he would understand, since it was an opportunity to gain exposure, but today was just the individual contests.
At that mont, the lights in the venue dimd, and it was ti for the three-point contest participants to make their entrance.
This year’s three-point contest lacked so of the star power from last year, but with Durant participating, especially after his 6-point performance last ti, it was enough.
If there was anything worth calling a highlight, it was the "Guardian General" Chalrs and Jas Jones.
What "arena" were they guarding?
Naturally, it was Barkley’s classic quote from last year’s three-point contest: the three-point champion beside Jas.
This ti the Heat Team had sent two players, clearly intent on winning.
For that alone, Hansen was rooting for Durant to take those two down.
Durant was the first to enter.
There was a thunderous cheer from the audience the mont Durant appeared, even before he made any gestures.
At that ti, Scarlett’s attention was also captured.
Then, she asked Hansen a question that nearly made him fall flat on his face.
"Who is he?"
It was one thing for Scarlett not to follow basketball, but it was too much that she didn’t even know who Durant was.
After all, they had a "shower water" connection!
However, upon reflection, if Scarlett truly didn’t follow basketball, it was quite possible she wouldn’t recognize what Durant looked like.
It’s like interviewing soone on the street who doesn’t follow basketball at all; they might know what Jordan and Kobe look like, but Durant? Perhaps they’ve never even heard of him.
Plus, Scarlett was a hotshot celebrity in her own right, busy hustling every day, with no ti to care about a man who was uninteresting or even boring to her.
Maybe her initial response was just her agent hyping things up.
Ah, it’s too cruel!
Hansen thought this reality was just too cruel for Durant.
If Durant knew the truth, who knows if he would be so heartbroken he couldn’t breathe.
If Griffin were participating in the slam dunk contest this year, he might still be thinking about hiding under a car.
Alright, since they had trained together in the past, he would help him out a bit.
"He’s Kevin Durant, the NBA’s best small forward."
See, I even ranked you ahead of Jas. That’s real loyalty.
But while Scarlett was originally interested, after listening to Hansen’s introduction, she suddenly furrowed her brow and covered her mouth, evidently feeling a bit nauseous.
Hansen realized it was a lost cause when he saw this. Durant had a big heart, capable of delivering nurous buzzer-beaters. That one line about wanting to drink "shower water" truly was a buzzer-beater that ruined any chances with Scarlett.
At that mont, soone sitting next to Scarlett passed her a bottle of water, probably a friend, and she felt a bit better after drinking.
"I think you’re better than him," she said with a laugh.
"Thank you." Hansen didn’t expect Scarlett to say that, but he still felt quite pleased inside.
Just then, as Durant waved to the audience with a smile and his gaze swept across the front row of the spectator stands, he saw Hansen and Scarlett.
His first reaction was excitent.
He hadn’t expected to see Scarlett here!
But imdiately afterward, his expression changed.
He saw Hansen and Scarlett smiling and chatting away happily.
Even Scarlett was sitting very close to Hansen, looking quite intimate!
The goddess he couldn’t have, Hansen had sohow managed to connect with her under the radar?
Hansen felt a wave of icy murderous intent, and when he looked back and saw Durant’s expression, he couldn’t help but cough dryly; this was probably a perfect misunderstanding.
But then he thought about how, in past gas against the Thunders, he’d had to rack his brain to trash-talk Durant just to get him isolated.
But now, just by chatting with Scarlett, the effect could be multiplied several tis.
"I heard ’The Avengers’ is premiering this May?" Thinking of this, Hansen smiled and struck up a conversation with Scarlett.
Scarlett was a bit surprised but quickly nodded with a smile.
Now they were onto Scarlett’s area of expertise, and they really started chatting.
Durant hadn’t taken his eyes off them since he first saw them. When he sat down at the players’ seats in the front row, seeing the two of them still talking, he was grinding his teeth in frustration.
