Chapter 1437: Chapter 1437: Stone Picker

As the sunset dropped to the west, a team of Stone Pickers with Chopping Sabers and pickaxes on their shoulders, and little bags filled with Demonic Source Stones around their waists, erged tensely from the woods. Despite having worked all day until utterly exhausted, they dared not delay for an instant, casting wary sideways glances around them as if on the lookout for sothing.

The one trailing at the back was a child of only about eight or nine, with short legs, struggling to keep up. The youth nearest to him impatiently pulled him along and said, “Lingfeng, I told you not to co out, but you insisted. Do you want to get us all robbed of our Demonic Source Stones?”

“Chen Fei, he’s just a child who’s also had a hard day. Don’t be so harsh on him! Though Hu Ba has been appearing more frequently these past days, it’s not the child’s fault. Don’t bla him!”

The man leading the group wore just a cross-collar coat in this chilling weather, his muscular arms exposed, bulging like dragons and snakes beneath his skin, showcasing his extraordinary strength and power beyond ordinary n.

“Yes, Brother Long, I got it!” Chen Fei was rely venting, tired from gathering Demonic Source Stones all day. He still picked up the child nad Lingfeng to prevent him from becoming too weary.

The group charged ahead for about a mile when suddenly, a fierce and bone-chilling wind struck straight at Brother Long in the lead, its cold glint like the darkest beam in the universe solidifying into sothing terrifying.

This was a silver arrow wrapped in black “devil origin” power, about half a ter long, made of unknown material. The shooter must have had trendous strength for the arrow moved as fast as a bolt of lightning, its divine power burning like golden flas. Its sharp point aid straight for the heart, while the sound of it cutting through the air was still three ters away.

The arrow’s arrival was so sudden that in the depths of the dense forest, firing such a cold shot clearly indicated no intent to leave these people alive. Fortunately, whether due to the group’s high level of vigilance or their frequent encounters with ambushes, Brother Long’s reaction was incredibly swift, and he dodged to the side.

The silver arrow grazed his shoulder, carrying away a trail of skin and blood, spattering onto the grass and leaves on the ground. The bulging muscle on his shoulder was torn away, narrowly missing his heart by just a bit. If not for his swift evasion, the arrow would have embedded there.

Nearly everyone’s heart skipped a beat, their eyes unable to follow the silver arrow’s flight until it pierced a nearby rock, passing through it with a “clang,” while the whooshing sound still echoed through the air.

It was too fast!

Hoofbeats grew louder from the distance, and only now did the dozen or so Stone Pickers realize the danger. Brother Long, ignoring his own wounded shoulder, was about to scatter the villagers and find a way to escape when five or six horsen appeared out of the woods, riding as swiftly as the wind, stirring up whirlwinds and raising clouds of dust, reaching the edge of the forest in no ti and halting just a few steps away from the villagers.

The horses ridden by these n were no ordinary wildebeests but Flying Dragon Horses, their bodies covered with scales as big as the mouth of a bowl and double wings sprouting from their flanks. Tall and robust, their tails, like long whips, could scrape off a layer of soil with a re flick.
