Yan Sijue ca downstairs to clean up the ss.

He found the small vial by the dining table, evidently dropped when Mu Yiliang fell to the ground.

She didn’t know that the vial had already been swapped by him.

Yan Sijue had deliberately staged his own death to see how she would react if he truly died.

The result brought him both relief and heartache.

She was in pain, and amidst the pain, she began to question the reasons for her actions, triggering another bout of headache.

Rembering her pale face and furrowed brows, Yan Sijue could fully imagine how intense that pain must be.

So, if she really wanted to overco the power of hypnosis, who knows how many more tis she’d have to endure such pain.

...

Mu Yiliang slept for three hours.

She got up and ca downstairs to find that Lan Yueru had already returned with Xiaoze, and there were several baskets of fruit on the table, filled with various kinds of fruit, mostly strawberries.

It looked like the grandmother and grandson had quite a harvest.

"Mommy, co try the strawberries. I picked them myself!" Xiaoze said proudly as he picked up a strawberry and ran to her, "They’re really delicious!"

The strawberries were bright and tempting, truly whetting one’s appetite.

Mu Yiliang gave him a doubtful look: "Have you washed them?"

"Washed them with saltwater, don’t worry!" He brought the strawberry to her lips.

Only then did Mu Yiliang smile and take a bite, the juice imdiately filling her mouth.

"Delicious!"

"Right? There’s plenty more! Take your ti; tonight’s dinner is all fruit!" He gestured towards the table full of fruit.

Lan Yueru laughed, "Eating strawberries all night, you’ll have sore teeth tomorrow, so much so that you won’t be able to bite tofu!"

"But if we don’t eat them, the strawberries will spoil." He looked troubled.

Mu Yiliang poked his head: "Who told you to pick so many?"

"Because they’re delicious!" He pouted, "If you don’t eat them, I’ll eat them all by myself!"

"Don’t worry, grandma will eat with you." Lan Yueru said with a smile, "Xiaoze, go wash two peaches for us."

"Alright!" He responded and took two peaches to the kitchen.

Mu Yiliang looked around but didn’t see Yan Sijue.

"Looking for Si Jue?" Lan Yueru’s smile faded slightly.

Mu Yiliang noticed the change in Lan Yueru’s tone.

"Hmm... is he still in the study? I’ll call him down to eat strawberries." Mu Yiliang turned to leave.

"Wait." Lan Yueru called to her in a serious tone.

Mu Yiliang stopped in her tracks.

"Aunt Lan, what’s the matter?" She forced a smile.

"Yiliang, is there sothing wrong between you and Si Jue?" Lan Yueru stared into her eyes, "You’ve been acting a bit off lately."

Mu Yiliang’s heart skipped a beat.

"No... no, there isn’t." She quickly flashed a smile, "Aunt Lan, Si Jue and I are fine, don’t worry."

"Is that really true?" Lan Yueru gazed at her, sighing, "Yiliang, you know I’ve stayed out of your affairs for a long ti. Before, we all thought you were dead, but it was Si Jue who insisted on looking for you... Now that you’ve finally reunited, I just hope you can be well, without more setbacks. Can you promise that?"

Mu Yiliang was montarily speechless.

"Si Jue has done so much for you, haven’t you forgotten?" Lan Yueru said with so anger, "Do you need to remind you?"
