Mu Yiliang finally stopped talking.
Yan Sijue released her and took his coat from the rack, draping it over his arm.
Xiaoze walked to his side, his eyes unknowingly reddened.
The man gently ruffled his hair and laughed hoarsely, "It’s okay. Shall we hang out next ti?"
Xiaoze nodded, wiping his eyes with his arm, unsure if he had been crying.
He didn’t expect mommy to have such a big reaction... Daddy must be very sad, right?
Daddy went through so much effort and paid such a huge price just to finally return to mommy’s side, yet mommy was so resistant to him...
Mu Yiliang watched the man leave, unable to bring herself to ask him to stay.
She knew Xiaoze was very upset, and she knew her actions were extrely excessive, even as a sharp pain flashed through her heart upon seeing the man’s aloof back.
Yet she still didn’t waver in the slightest.
A hazy image flitted through her mind; it seed... she had once watched a figure like this walk away, ignoring her pleas, leaving her life...
The door closed softly.
Xiaoze turned back to look at her, tears still shimring in his eyes.
Mu Yiliang felt a bit guilty, "Son, do you bla ?"
He shook his head.
How could he bla mommy? She knew nothing, she had forgotten everything, and she had every reason to act this way.
"I don’t want this either, but his intentions are too suspicious." Mu Yiliang held her son in her arms, "I’m an ordinary woman, yet I inexplicably gained his special attention... Don’t you find that odd? Even if he ans no harm, his intentions surely aren’t pure!"
"Mommy, you’re not ordinary at all..."
Mu Yiliang coughed lightly, "Though I do think I’m quite capable, it depends on who you’re comparing with. Yan Sijue’s level is too high; who is he... He was on the cover of Ti magazine twice and is a spiritual icon for young people worldwide, yet he humbles himself to co to our kitchen... Can you imagine? And he can actually cook? That’s terrifying!"
Xiaoze suddenly felt a tinge of soreness in his teeth.
So, it turned out to be daddy’s tactical error? Being too approachable and down-to-earth actually aroused suspicion... Should he continue with the domineering CEO vibe? He deeply pondered this question.
"Co on, let’s continue making dinner." After saying this, Mu Yiliang walked towards the kitchen.
Xiaoze couldn’t help but sigh, "Uncle Yan was busy for so long, he even bought all the groceries, yet he didn’t even get to have dinner..."
Mu Yiliang finally felt a trace of guilt, "...It’s not like he’s starving!"
...
In the following days, she didn’t see Yan Sijue again.
Probably gave up... she thought secretly.
Giving up so easily really didn’t seem like his style, this thought erged inexplicably in her mind.
Phooey, phooey, phooey, she didn’t feel disappointed at all!
Luckily, with her new role, Mu Yiliang was incredibly busy every day, leaving her little free ti to think about this person.
Xiaoze also didn’t bring up "Uncle Yan" again, making her very relieved. Luckily, she was decisive enough, Xiaoze wasn’t deeply dependent on this man yet.
That day, just after her lunch break, as she was about to tackle a mountain of tasks, she suddenly received a call from Xiaoze’s class teacher.
The voice on the phone was extrely anxious, "Is this Mrs. Mu? Mu Yuze has gotten into a fight at school with older students and is injured!"
