Mu Yiliang trembled all over, but from his words, she realized sothing.

"Was it you? His failure, was it caused by you?"

He silently curled his lips: "I’m glad you figured it out. It’s a pity Nie Qing was useless and let him escape; I had intended for him to die!"

"But... why..." she bit her lip, unable to suppress her trembling.

"Because I’m jealous of him. Does that answer satisfy you?" His tone was grim, "What, does it pain you?"

Mu Yiliang closed her eyes, and large teardrops followed.

She couldn’t rember how long it had been since she last cried; to her, crying was a weak and useless reaction, but at this mont, she couldn’t control the tears from falling.

Turns out Ye Moran’s fate also indirectly had to do with her.

As for Yan Sijue, neither Nie Qing nor Ye Moran were on good terms with him, but he chose to cooperate with Nie Qing... both to save her and to attack Ye Moran.

Such actions were not what he would typically do; in these past six years, she had constantly watched his developnts, thus she understood his style and thods. Acting just to vent without considering consequences was never his style.

Nie Qing’s sinister cunning was far beyond what Ye Moran could compare; if viewed as an enemy, clearly Ye Moran was easier for him to handle. Moreover, once Ye Moran took power, to consolidate his position, he wouldn’t have ti to oppose the Yan Family for a long while, but Nie Qing wouldn’t hesitate; he had managed Puritan for many years, though he slipped up against Ye Moran, once he regained power, he’d return even more cautious and difficult.

With Yan Sijue’s shrewdness, he didn’t even need to think to know what was most beneficial to him. Yet in the end, he chose an irrational decision.

The fundantal reason was still for her.

Thinking this, she couldn’t help but speak: "Acting this way isn’t beneficial to you..."

"How I do things is not for you to question." Yan Sijue mistakenly thought she was worried about Ye Moran, and his voice grew colder, "If I track him down, I will still strive to put him to death!"

Mu Yiliang’s face turned even paler!

"I really have no relationship with him anymore! Do you have to be this relentless?"

She couldn’t sit idly by and watch Ye Moran suffer irreparable harm because of her!

"At least you still feel for him!" Yan Sijue gave her a cold glance, "Besides, my vendetta against him is for other reasons, not because of you, so don’t flatter yourself!"

Mu Yiliang shuddered, biting her lip tightly, tears flowing even more fiercely.

She understood that at this mont, this man would no longer show her any tenderness; he was truly hurt by her, thoroughly.

She had anticipated this day; she thought he could face his disappointnt and resentnt calmly, but she realized she was wrong.

Once lost, she knew how deeply she craved his gentleness and indulgence. Hearing those cold words from his mouth felt like countless small knives cutting across her heart, excruciatingly painful!

Yan Sijue watched her expressionlessly.

However, his heart was far less calm than he appeared!

This was the first ti he saw this woman cry, not looking utterly heartbroken; she didn’t even make a sobbing sound, just tears silently falling, piercing his eyes intensely!
