Chapter 817: Chapter 661, Lentham Alliance Chapter 817: Chapter 661, Lentham Alliance “What’s the na?” Glenda and Bella also flew over.

“Wu Qin!”

“A bit peculiar, but it fits with the naming conventions from your side,” Glenda repeated twice, then continued, “Next ti there’s a good the, I’ll include your daughter in it.”

“Then you, great author, must show so rcy and write a good character,” Wu Heng said with a smile.

The protagonist of a book is also the foundation for future fa.

It’s not just about setting up a character.

It’s a good thing, too.

“Alright,” Glenda agreed, nodding.

Footsteps ca from the entrance.

The ghosts vanished, and Xiao Xiao also stopped playing with the baby and disappeared.

Imdiately after, the door opened, and Wen Mansha walked in with her housekeeper.

Looking at the child with a smile on its face, she gently picked him up, “It’s ti to go to sleep.”

Speaking, she handed the child to the housekeeper and led them out of the room.

Wen Mansha continued, “The parents of the few children have been found—two were taken away by their father and have not yet returned, likely dead at the hands of the Ghost Hag; the remaining two were claid to have been stolen, the children were sent back, and we will arrange for soone to follow up and investigate thoroughly.”

“The efficiency is quite high,” Wu Heng remarked.

“Intelligence work is our strong suit, plus this sort of thing is easily investigated,” Wen Mansha said, sitting down beside him, then continued, “This morning, a ssenger from the Crown Prince of the Yeko Kingdom ca by.”

“What for?” Wu Heng asked curiously.

“He wants Lundham City to join the Yeko Kingdom, promising I’ll remain the City Lord and offering so resource support. Also, he ntioned tens of thousands of troops arranged at the border, hinting that if we disagree, they will directly attack and seize this place,” Wen Mansha said, her tone growing serious.

Wu Heng’s brow furrowed.

This Yeko Kingdom really had its sights set on this place.

The last ti he returned, the enemies he killed were linked to the Yeko Kingdom, and they had still not given up.

Always trying to drag him into their internal affairs they couldn’t even sort out on their own.

After pondering, he asked, “Do you know where this person is?”

“He’s staying at the Wind Drooping Grass Tavern, nad ‘Robbin’, a tall, thin man around his fifties dressed as a magician,” Wen Mansha recalled, describing his appearance and adding, “But don’t kill him just yet; these ssengers are nurous, and it’s overwhelming to kill them all—it could also impact Lundham City’s reputation.”

Wu Heng glanced aside, and an invisible ghost directly flew out.

Wen Mansha then went on to discuss the city’s situations.

Such incidents often occur, explorations within the Yeko Kingdom, enticing so sects and forces.

Owning a city made such matters hard to avoid.

Wen Mansha had gotten sowhat used to it.

Moreover, the skeletal military force within the city had never truly been threatened by anyone up to this point.

After chatting for a while, Wen Mansha went downstairs again to handle affairs.

Only Wu Heng remained upstairs, sitting in the study, casually flipping through the city’s account books.

After a while, the ghost returned from the outside.

Seeing that the room was empty.

Glenda spoke, “Found that person, he’s in the tavern drinking with soone; indeed, he’s the Crown Prince’s man, and he has also recounted his conversation with Wen Mansha, sent out through a letter.”

Bella added from the side, “After they finished eating, I tracked another person, having a residence in the city but dressed sowhat like a rcenary.”

Xiao Xiao nodded along.

“There aren’t any troops near the city, are there?”

“No? If there were, we would notice right away,” Glenda said.

The effect of Spirit Vision allows seeing level columns.

Army troops appear as dense columns of light and are easily detected.

“Should be no problem,” Wu Heng nodded.

Glenda thought for a mont, “Do you need to kill him? Disguising it as suicide is an option.”

“No need, he poses no threat to the city, and his death might actually lead to complications. Just have Wen Mansha assign soone to watch him closely.” Wu Heng replied.

The real threat to Lundham City was still the army ntioned by the other party.

Killing him would not change anything.

“As you say.” Glenda nodded.

They sat in the study for a while.

Then, from downstairs ca the call for dinner, and Wu Heng went down to eat.

It was Wu Heng’s fifth day in Lundham City.

During these days, he had reduced his visits to Zombie World, spent more ti with Wen Mansha and her daughter, and arranged for ghosts to monitor the situation in the city.

Besides the news of the military buildup on the border ntioned by the ssenger the other ti, no other news about the army had co back.

Wu Heng had even taken the Phantom Train there once.

The atmosphere in the city was rather tense, yet there were no signs of the supposed tens of thousands of troops.

It seed more like sothing Wen Mansha ca up with on the spot to bolster her own position after rejecting the other party’s proposal.

“My Lord, the Aiskar Shaman has arrived,” the housekeeper said softly as she ca upstairs.

“I’ll co down now.” Wu Heng put his things away and headed downstairs.

As he reached the first-floor hall, he saw an elderly Beastman Shaman standing in front of a painting, looking up at it.

Hearing Wu Heng’s footsteps, he turned around, his wrinkled face breaking into a smile, “Vice-executive Wu Heng.”

Mr. Aiskar, it’s been a long ti,” Wu Heng greeted.

The other, still smiling, showed his imposing Beastman features, “Not really that long.”

“Please, have a seat!” Wu Heng gestured.

The Beastman sat across from him, and a maid brought over tea and pastries.

“Is there sothing you need, Mr. Aiskar?” Wu Heng asked directly.

The straightforward Beastman began, “I heard that a ssenger from the Yeko Kingdom ca, proposing that Lundham City be incorporated into Yeko Kingdom’s territory.”

“Indeed, that is the case,” Wu Heng confird with a nod.

The Beastman’s eyes widened slightly as he continued, “What are your thoughts on this, you and Lord Wen Mansha?”

Wu Heng pondered montarily and then spoke, “Of course, we don’t believe their words.”

The Beastman took a sip from his water glass, his large tusks making the glass seem much smaller.

Putting the glass down, he continued, “In the past few days, several tribes have t with , expressing their support for Lundham City and respect for Lord Wen Mansha. If there is truly a danger, the Beastman Tribe will offer its support to Lundham City.”

Wu Heng, surprised, then asked, “How many tribes in total?”

The news about the Yeko Kingdom was sothing Wu Heng had let out himself.

Out of all others, the city’s Beastn would be the least willing for Lundham City to join Yeko Kingdom.

Half of the Beastn depended on this city for survival.

People from tribes like the Mao Liao Tribe and Black Stone Tribe all relied on this city.

As expected, after releasing the news, this Beastman Shaman ca straight over.

“Currently, there are five tribes, and no matter what, we could muster up a few thousand people,” the old Beastman said directly.

Wu Heng contemplated for a mont, then spoke, “Wen Mansha and I have the sa view, we trust our Beastman brothers more, and the city has also provided many jobs and conveniences to the Beastn recently.”

“I am aware of that, and it is why we are willing to help Lundham City,” the old Beastman said earnestly.

Wu Heng continued, “The plans of Yeko Kingdom might not be implented any ti soon, and they might try to stir up our relationships prematurely, or break us one by one.”

The old Beastman’s eyes narrowed slightly, “What do you suggest?”

“It was actually thanks to your suggestion, Mr. Aiskar, that I ca up with this idea on the spot, Please listen to it first before deciding whether it’s feasible or not.”

The old Beastman nodded.

“What if we establish a Lentham Alliance?” Wu Heng continued, “Whether for resisting external enemies in the future, trading resources, or other cooperative endeavors, joining forces can make these processes much easier.”
