Chapter 1610: Chapter 1088: God_3

“Sure, sure!” Xiao Xiao agreed cheerfully, and the two left the Island Lord’s Mansion together.

In the side hall, Wu Heng stood alone for a while, deep in thought, before finally walking out.

He greeted the female mbers of his family and headed upstairs.

Returning to the study.

Glenda imdiately sensed sothing was wrong with him and floated closer to ask, “What happened?”

“We might have completely miscalculated… The Divine Spirits, they might really be descending soon.” Wu Heng’s voice was grave as he quickly recounted the information brought by Lilith and his own deductions.

The atmosphere in the study dropped to freezing point in an instant.

The expressions of the three Ghosts turned extrely serious.

If it had rely been the death of a regular informant, perhaps it could have been explained away as an accident or as the Holy Court killing in rage.

But the one who died was a Vice-executive of the association, and it happened after the Holy Court explicitly rejected Wu Heng’s proposal for reconciliation.

This was sufficient to indicate that the Holy Court was executing a plan they believed capable of crushing Wu Heng and even the entire association.

The only possibility that could give the Holy Court such absolute confidence, throughout the whole world, was….

Divine intervention.

There is no other explanation.

Even if the Holy Court could cultivate four or even eight Heroic Thrones, they would never dare to eliminate the top informants of the association so decisively and display such a complete break.

“Why does it have to be at this ti!” Bella’s voice was filled with reluctance.

Clearly, the Faith was almost enough.

Just lacking a little more ti.

Wu Heng instinctively glanced at his attribute panel.

[Faith: 42975/50000]

Still over seven thousand points short! He just needed a few more months.

Glenda forced herself to calm down and asked, “What do you plan to do?”

“If the Divine Spirits can’t be defeated, we’ll retreat into the Zombie World, and if we break through to the Heroic Rank and have the strength, we’ll co back to fight!” Wu Heng replied.

This was a prearranged plan of retreat.

“What about Mini and the others?” Lady imdiately followed up with her question.

“Take everyone! Don’t leave anyone behind.” Wu Heng said directly.

He had always kept the secret of the Bronze Key, revealing next to nothing even to those around him, precisely to prepare for this day as his last ans of survival.

As the ultimate ans of survival.

Including his female companions.

“In that case, I think we’ll need to move them in advance to avoid a situation where we can’t even respond when they take action.” Lady said seriously.

Wu Heng nodded, “Alright, I’ll first do a divination, then I’ll arrange for them to be taken away.”

Ultimately holding onto a sliver of hope, he took out the Special Item, the turtle shell.

Silently he chanted in his heart, asking about the action The Holy Court was about to launch against him!

He then gently shook the turtle shell, causing the Copper Coins inside to clatter.

Plop!

Three Ancient Coins fell to the floor, all facing down!

Ominous!

Wu Heng’s pupils shrank, and a chill swept through his body instantly.

With his constitution and strength exceeding a hundred, a Heroic Rank enemy should not bring such an augury.

The only explanation was that the impending threat was of a level far beyond the Heroic!

The faces of the three Ghosts also turned somber imdiately, and the study fell silent.

Wu Heng’s face darkened, and without a word, he swept the Copper Coins back into the turtle shell and shook it violently again, his heart silently chanting: Is the one coming the Divine Spirits of The Holy Court!

This ti, however, the Copper Coins within the turtle shell seed sealed by an invisible force, refusing to fall no matter how he shook!

Unable to divine!

The inability to divine itself already spoke volus.

The impending danger to him was already beyond what this Special Item could comprehend!

Wu Heng slamd the turtle shell onto the table, shattering any last shred of wishful thinking completely.

He turned suddenly and strode toward the stairs, speaking as he went.

“Bella, go find Xiao Xiao and Lilith imdiately!”

“Lady, notify Xi Ligui, Shi Yali, and all core Priests of the Spirit Awakening Sect on the island to gather at the Island Lord’s Mansion!”

“Glenda, go find Retili.”

The three Ghosts nodded and phased through the walls to leave.

Wu Heng hurried down the stairs.

The female mbers who had been chatting rrily all looked up at him.

Upon seeing his expression, their smiles froze instantly.

Shanaela frowned and asked, “Wu Heng, what’s happened?”

In the entire living room, there was a dead silence, and everyone’s gaze focused on him, a sense of oppressive tension like an impending storm enveloped them all.

The Holy Hall.

Tens of thousands of believers crawled over the square, streets, and every corner of the city like a tide.

Their foreheads pressed tightly against the ground, their bodies trembling slightly from reverence.

The deep, fervent prayers rged into a continuous hum above the entire Holy Hall, simultaneously converging overhead, surging towards the direction of the temple.

Above the temple, the sky had already changed.

Blinding intense light tore through the clouds, enveloping the entire area in resplendence.

It was as if tangible divine light poured down, carrying a soul-trembling might and vast Divine Power.

At the center of the altar in the Holy Hall, the space began to warp and undulate.

Endless radiance erged from the void, rapidly coalescing and compressing, finally forming a pure and intensely bright golden pillar of light, reaching the sky and the earth!

Within the pillar of light, a majestic figure gradually solidified.

The figure did not approach step by step but appeared as if crossing distances.

Surrounded by runes of the law, every inch of skin, every strand of robe seed forged from the purest light and supre Authority.

Its countenance shrouded in radiance allowed only a vague sense of a gaze transcending mortal understanding, of absolute majesty and absolute indifference.

Kneeling foremost among everyone, the ‘Pope’ pressed his head deeply against the cold ground and cried out in a voice trembling with excitent and utmost reverence, “Welco, Holy Father!”

The existence within the radiance made no movent; an indifferent voice was heard, “Speak!”

The Pope’s body trembled violently, and in a more humble posture, he hastily responded, his voice carrying a hint of sobbing and accusation, “Great Holy Father! A blaspher rises, desecrates Your glory, seizes faith rightfully Yours, tramples the dignity of the Holy Court! We are powerless to purify such evil rebels, and can only plead for Your supre divine might to descend and deliver judgnt, to cleanse the world’s filth!”
