Chapter 1533: Chapter 1055: True Limb Regeneration

“Playing dumb with , huh?” Lilith pinched Wu Heng’s waist slightly and then said, “You went to the Holy Hall, didn’t you think I wouldn’t know?”

Wu Heng chuckled, knowing this couldn’t be kept a secret, so he simply said, “I didn’t want you to worry!”

Lilith’s face was cold, her voice carrying a hint of grievance, “Afraid I’d spill the beans? You’ve been hiding it from all along!”

Wu Heng imdiately held her hand, pulling her onto his lap, “How could I! I was just afraid you’d be put in a difficult position.”

Gently rubbing her palm with his fingertips, he continued, “If I’d told you in advance and the association asked about it, you’d feel awkward being caught in the middle.”

“Hmph, so many excuses.” Lilith turned her face aside, but the tension in her shoulders relaxed a bit.

Wu Heng seized the opportunity to hug her waist tightly, “What’s our relationship like? I couldn’t possibly keep it from you.”

Finally, Lilith turned her head, hooking his neck with one hand, “So now you can tell the truth, right?”

“Of course!” Wu Heng’s smile was bright, “Which part do you want to hear?”

“Why the sudden attack on the Holy Hall?”

“Before, we kept thinking about how to defend, which was too passive.” Wu Heng traced circles on her side with his fingers, “So I thought, why not just steal the Special Item the Holy Court uses to produce heroes, end everything in one go—”

“You call that stealing?!” Lilith nearly jumped up, “You smashed their Holy Hall! Knocked the whole city unconscious! And stripped the Pope down to his underwear, right?”

Wu Heng, looking innocent, “Maybe the thod was… a bit aggressive?”

Lilith’s sulk subsided a bit, slinging an arm around his shoulder, “Then explain to what happened, exactly?”

“Sure, which part do you want to hear?” Wu Heng retorted.

Lilith said, “How did it suddenly co to mind to attack the Holy Hall?”

“After the release of the blaspher list, our focus was entirely on how to respond and defend. I was pondering how to fundantally neutralize the threat of the Holy Court.” Wu Heng traced circles on her side with his fingers, “Then I thought about stealing their Special Item for hero production.”

“You call that stealing?” Lilith almost jumped up.

Wu Heng, looking innocent, “Maybe the thod was… a bit violent.”

Lilith held her forehead!

Calling that slightly violent? It was practically wiping the Holy Court’s face on the ground.

But looking at the outco, this operation was successful, taking things from the Holy Hall was as simple as shopping in the market.

Lilith’s fingers slid across his chest, softly asking, “What thod did you use to make the entire city fall unconscious?”

Such things couldn’t possibly be hidden from Lilith.

She already had spies planted in the Holy Hall, and news would definitely co through afterward.

“A special chanical device that can make all living beings within a certain range fall unconscious,” Wu Heng responded.

“A ntal-type attack?” Lilith mused to herself.

“Sort of.”

In that sense, infrasound waves could also be considered a ntal-type attack.

Lilith propped herself up, her silk nightgown sliding off her shoulder, her tone sowhat wistful, “If you hadn’t switched your profession to a Necromancer back then, just relying on your expertise in chanical devices, you could have achieved significant accomplishnts.”

“It’s pretty good as it is now.” Wu Heng smiled, pulling her back into his embrace, “This profession is the reason I’m still alive.”

“True.” Lilith’s red lips curved into a smile, suddenly changing the subject, “Did you see the Pope?”

“I did! He was sleeping peacefully.” Wu Heng played with a lock of her hair.

Lilith rolled her eyes at him, that choice of words.

As if the man were dead.

But she understood why the Pope would keep such a low profile this ti.

Clearly, he was afraid Wu Heng would make a return trip and finish him off.

“I thought you’d kill him.” Lilith muttered.

Wu Heng’s hand paused as he gently stroked her hand, saying, “I thought about it, but didn’t dare.”

Lilith chuckled softly, also helping him remove his outer clothing, “Smart of you, the Holy Court isn’t much of a threat now. Actually killing him might cause bigger trouble.”

“I thought so too.” Wu Heng continued to ask; “What’s the situation at the Holy Hall now?”

“The whole city is in panic!” Lilith straddled his lap, her hands gently resting on his chest, “But there’s no movent from the Pope’s side, probably because Bella is scared stiff.”

“He’s afraid I’ll co back for his life.” Wu Heng supported her waist, “Keep your people watching for , and let know of any intelligence.”

“Do you really need to say… thinking I’m like you? Still hiding things.” Lilith suddenly leaned down and bit his earlobe.

Wu Heng lifted her up and pressed her down on the soft couch, mumbling between kisses, “Love you to death!”

The next day.

The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains into the side hall, where the Holy Cabinet stood quietly on the table, its silver-white surface shimring with a faint golden light.

Lilith circled the Holy Cabinet, her fingertips lightly touching the carved patterns on it, “I didn’t expect the Holy Court’s core secret to be this cabinet.”

She was in charge of intelligence work.

The Holy Court’s Special Item hadn’t been identified by the Secret Speaker despite their efforts, and it turned out to be just a cabinet.

“We also guessed it might be the Holy Grail or Scepter.” Wu Heng shrugged, “Turns out to be this thing.”

Xiao Xiao slightly flaunted, “Sister! Do you know what the side effect of this Special Item is?”

“What is it?” Lilith asked with a smile.

Xiao Xiao put her hands on her hips, “Human Form Wear.”

“What do you an?” Lilith followed up.

Xiao Xiao looked at Wu Heng, “Uncle, what does it an again?”

Wu Heng gave a toothless grin, “Forgot already what I told you yesterday?”

“I didn’t quite get it at the ti.” Xiao Xiao chuckled.

Wu Heng explained, “It ans that people who use the Holy Cabinet to beco heroes will experience changes in personality, emotion, or human appearance and other traits.”
