Chen Wanru finished speaking, then pulled out her phone and called the police, her voice efficient and direct, "At the national road near the stadium, there has been a rear-end collision."
Chenxi’s complexion looked sowhat troubled. She had important matters to attend to, but unexpectedly ran into Wanru who insisted on waiting for the traffic police. It was peak traffic ti, and there was no telling when the police would arrive. Chenxi raised her wrist, glanced at her watch, and saw there was still half an hour left. Unable to contain her frustration, she took a deep breath and was about to address Wanrong when her phone suddenly rang. Seeing the caller ID, she hooked her lips and blinked her eyes, then no longer paid any attention to Wanru and answered the call, respectfully saying, "Myth, I’ve had a car accident and I’m afraid I won’t make it anyti soon..."
Standing there, Wanru’s face slightly soured upon hearing the word "Myth."
"Alright," Chenxi softly ended the call and then comfortably took a seat in her car, not saying another word.
Momo waited a long ti in the car and did not see Wanru return. Unable to hold back, she pushed open the car door and stepped out, walking up to Wanru. Momo asked, "Sister Wanru, how is this going to be resolved?"
After speaking, Momo glanced at the person inside the car window, and then she suddenly felt the sa sensation as Wanru and Chenxi—misfortune often cos from unexpected sources!
"Let the traffic police handle it. We’re waiting for them now," Wanru told Momo.
Momo just "Oh"ed, then said, "Then I’ll wait with you."
Chenxi hadn’t seen Momo in a long ti. She and Niange had had several conflicts recently, all because of Momo. Seeing her in person now, she felt her blood boiling, her uncontrollable anger surging like a tidal wave, threatening to drown and engulf her.
Chenxi could no longer hold back and smirked lightly, glancing at Momo standing outside the window, and with a touch of derision, she said, "Look who it is, all old acquaintances. I have a concert tomorrow night, why don’t you co?"
Wanru turned her head with an indifferent deanor and said ungraciously, "No thanks!"
Chenxi wasn’t annoyed, she bowed her head and gently played with her beautifully done nails, then pursed her lips and spoke in a tone dripping with sarcasm, "Sister Chen, I really didn’t expect that you would play such a trick, framing yourself then pinning the bla on , in hopes of eliminating us both from the music gala, and promoting Momo as the top singer. But Momo, she really isn’t tactful, letting you down in the end. Leaving the top position willingly, yet still trying to help you, and look what happened—I didn’t die, but now both of you are done for!"
Hearing these words, Momo frowned slightly and looked at Chen Wanru. She had thought that Wanru would refute, but to her surprise, Wanru just smiled lightly and said, "It’s just that Momo is more considerate than you."
Suddenly, Momo’s heart exploded with realization. Did Wanru’s words an that her past scandal with Wang Chao was all orchestrated by herself?
Was her purpose to drag Chenxi and herself down so that she could seize the top position in the music industry?
Momo suddenly rembered what Qingshen had once said to her—that everyone in this circle is complex, Wanru included.
