"I’ve heard that young lady is just twenty years old!" Qin Sheng leaned against his chair with a mahjong tile in one hand and the other hand casually hanging by his side, completely the image of a playboy, and spoke in his signature rascally tone, "Four bamboos!"
"Chow!" Su Chen claid the tile, and Qin Sheng cursed, "Hope it chokes you!" Su Chen turned a deaf ear and with a face handso and refined, grinned and said with poise, "I heard that girl’s last na is Ling! Eight dots!"
"Pong!" You Yi raised his eyebrows in triumph, drew a new tile from the wall while thinking, then lifted his gaze to glance at Li Qingshen and added fuel to the fire, "I’ve heard that girl’s na is Momo! Seven characters!"
Qin Sheng, Su Chen, and You Yi looked mischievously at Li Qingshen, who sat there seemingly nonchalant and collected, and then they all burst into teasing laughter, heating up the atmosphere around the mahjong table.
Li Qingshen, who was always the butt of jokes, remained silent, his attitude leisurely as he drew and played tiles as if he hadn’t heard what the other three were saying.
"Man, let tell you, back in the day at Arican MIT," Qingshen was guarding his computer every night waiting for Ling Momo to co online on QQ....." Just as You Yi began speaking, about to reveal another anecdote about Li Qingshen’s past, the perpetually silent Li Qingshen slowly lifted his head and cleared his throat gently, interrupting You Yi.
The other three turned their eyes towards Li Qingshen, only to see his refined face absent of any expression, his gaze indifferently sweeping over the three n, yet sohow sending a chill down their spines and a vague sense of foreboding creeping up on them.
Sure enough....before any of them could fully form their thoughts, Li Qingshen’s elegant fingers had slowly pushed forward the tiles in front of him, curved his lips and spoke with a clear, ethereal voice, "Self-drawn little seven pairs, I’ve won.....pay up....."
The hearts of the other three, previously held in suspense, instantly sank, each muttering a curse as they dug out money and tossed it to Li Qingshen.
Li Qingshen accepted the money without refusal.
Qin Sheng stamped out his cigarette, pushed his tiles away, glanced at his watch, and asked, "It’s almost nine o’clock. Li Qingshen, why isn’t your little lady here yet? Wanna give her a call to check?"
Li Qingshen nodded, reached into his pocket to pull out his phone, found Ling Momo’s number and dialed. However, the phone rang for a long ti with no one picking up. Li Qingshen frowned, dialed again, but still, no one answered, and his expression gradually grew colder.
"No one’s picking up?" Su Chen interjected, "Maybe she’s on her way and didn’t hear it."
"Let’s wait a bit longer, let’s play another round," You Yi suggested, shuffling tiles while signaling everyone to continue.
Qin Sheng snuffed out his cigarette and imdiately joined the fray, and Li Qingshen hung up the phone reluctantly, continuing to play.
However, when they finished the third round, it was almost ten o’clock, and Ling Momo still hadn’t appeared, everyone’s stomachs growling with hunger.
Li Qingshen’s expression turned more and more unsightly; he stood up from the mahjong table, walked over to the window, and kept dialing Ling Momo’s number until finally, her phone switched to the custor service voice, "We are sorry, the number you have dialed is powered off."
