In that mont, he truly wished ti could stand still.

Li Qingshen returned to his bedroom at midnight, yet he felt not the slightest hint of sleepiness. Standing before the floor-to-ceiling window, he cradled a cup of hot tea, his gaze lingering on the night view outside, lost in thought.

Too much had happened that day.

Had he not given chase, he wouldn’t have witnessed Ling Momo’s abduction.

He had intended to rush forward and whisk Ling Momo away, but then he overheard her conversation with Jian Chenxi.

He froze, ears pricked, listening intently, and only at the end did he realize he had misunderstood Ling Momo.

She and Lu Niange really had nothing between them; it was Lu Niange who wouldn’t leave her alone.

In that instant, the anger and sadness that had built up over ti were replaced with chagrin and joy.

He was annoyed at himself for having punished her so harshly in his anger.

Yet, he was delighted to discover that the WeChat ssages she had sent him were all true, with no deception.

He couldn’t help but bla himself, and thus, had to admit that when he saw Lu Niange tonight, so of his bla had been misdirected at him in anger.

If Lu Niange hadn’t sought her out... how could he have misunderstood?

Despite this reasoning, Li Qingshen still felt deeply that he was in the wrong.

Self-reproach was inevitable, and after a while, it was as if he rembered sothing, and he picked up his phone.

Ever since that day he saw Ling Momo and Lu Niange smiling at each other in the small garden, he had turned off WeChat.

Upon reactivating it, a series of pinging notifications flowed in.

"Are you busy? Why haven’t you replied to my ssages?"

"I don’t an anything by it, just wanted to see you, have a al, chat for a bit. It won’t take up much of your ti, and if you’re busy, no worries, we can wait until you have the ti."

"Is my request putting you in a difficult position?"

"I’m sorry... I understand now, I was being too forward."

...

So, she had sent him that many ssages afterward?

Li Qingshen felt his blood simring as he raised his hand and sent her a ssage, "Are you there?"

After typing that, he continued to tap away at the keyboard, but after just a few keystrokes, he saw a ssage from the system: "Elf Momo has enabled friend verification; you are not friends yet. Please send a friend request first. Once validated, you can chat."

Below was a line in blue font: "Send friend request."

Li Qingshen’s chest tightened slightly—had Ling Momo deleted him as a friend?

His fingers trembling slightly, he then proceeded to tap the blue font, and in the friend verification ssage box, he left a note, "Momo, I’m sorry, let’s have a proper talk!"

After sending the request, he clicked on Ling Momo’s profile picture and saw that her status had been changed to: "I hope to find soone who can offer calm love, accompany to see the world’s scenery, and promise a lifeti of happiness."

Li Qingshen stared at that sentence for a long ti before he went into his own settings and filled in his blank signature space with: "There’s a kind of being single... just waiting for soone..."

After updating his profile, Li Qingshen set his phone down on the desk, turned on his computer, ready to work. However, halfway through, as if struck by a thought, he picked up his phone again, went into WeChat privacy settings for adding friends, and turned those restrictions off.

"Tomorrow we continue... The upcoming plot will have Ling Momo falling for Li Qingshen, ~~~~"
