Li Qingshen stared at Lu Niange for a long ti, so long that Lu Niange felt like she was about to suffocate, when Li Qingshen slightly curled his lips into a cold, mocking sneer.

Then, a sentence slowly drifted out.

"If you don’t see her, she won’t get hurt."

Lu Niange stood frozen in place, her body stiff.

On a sumr’s night, stars twinkled, and in the suburbs of City X, a gentle breeze blew.

Behind Li Qingshen, the villa lit up brightly, forming the backdrop for this extraordinary man. He kept his gaze on her, not speaking, the silence between them as deep as death.

In the distance, the sound of the wind rustling through the trees could be heard.

At this ti, the weather was the hottest of the year in City X, yet Lu Niange felt a bone-deep chill.

She knew, to a proud person like Li Qingshen, she was an outsider. Interfering with his private life was overstepping boundaries, and would displease Li Qingshen.

Moreover, no man would like another man to say they had let go of a woman.

She knew Li Qingshen would be angry, but she had never imagined that Li Qingshen would say such a thing!

A single sentence struck right at her weak spot.

If you don’t see her, she won’t get hurt.

So direct.

Although Lu Niange was still smiling, the smile was noticeably stiff. She understood all that Li Qingshen had said. If it weren’t for her, Jian Chenxi wouldn’t have kidnapped Ling Momo.

But, she couldn’t just ignore the current plight of Ling Momo.

Suddenly, Lu Niange lifted her chin, staring intensely at the storm brewing in Li Qingshen’s eyes. Li Qingshen, standing aloof there, also stared back into Lu Niange’s eyes. However, Li Qingshen’s gaze was particularly defiant, as if sothing was about to explode at any mont.

After a long while, Lu Niange took a deep breath and finally spoke, "I understand what you an, I won’t see her anymore...just, let Momo go."

Li Qingshen curled his lips beautifully, the light in his deep eyes growing colder and harder. His tone, calm and steady, yet held a sharp and cutting irony, "Since when is it your place to dictate what I do?"

There was a quiet resolve in Lu Niange’s eyes as he responded, "As long as you let Ling Momo go, I won’t see her again."

When Lu Niange reached this point, he paused, rembering the conditions threatened by Jian Chenxi, he added with even more certainty, "I won’t see her, absolutely not."

Ling Momo, do you understand?

Since I cannot marry you, then I will get married for your sake.

Li Qingshen’s smile faded, his eyes stormy and furious as he stared at Lu Niange.

Despite Lu Niange’s family background, career prospects, or wealth, none could compare to his, Li Qingshen. Yet, Ling Momo loved Lu Niange, she had once been willing to live and die for this man, to wash her face with tears.

And him?

He could only protect his secret love, standing behind her, as embarrassed and pathetic as could be.

And now?

This man dared to propose a trade with him?

What right did he have to negotiate?

Li Qingshen felt a fire spreading in his heart, but his words ca out nonchalantly, "Let her go? How can you be sure, it’s not her clinging to ?"

Lu Niange’s expression darkened in an instant, as weary, lonely, and forlorn as it could possibly be.
