Xi Xiaye was sound asleep after she took the dicine. When Mu Yuchen finished cooking the porridge and returned to check on her, she was still sleeping soundly, so he decided not to wake her up for now.
The doorbell rang monts later. Mu Yuchen pulled the blanket over Xi Xiaye and ran his fingers through her hair before leaving the bedroom.
It was Li Si who was sending so docunts over.
“Master, I’ve prepared the docunts.”
By the staircase outside the door, Li Si handed a black briefcase over to Mu Yuchen. “Master, is there any progress on Ah Mo’s matter? Miss Lingshi is going to be discharged tomorrow. She asked about Ah Mo’s situation this morning. By the way, Chief Mu went to visit her last night. Gu Qiwu was there as well, but he avoided showing his face.”
Father went to the hospital?
Mu Yuchen was surprised. Mu Tangchuan had been busy in the past few days, and he did not even get a chance to see him the last ti he returned to the Mu residence...
Mu Tangchuan had a lot on his plate. Not only did he need to help track Ah Mo down, but he also had many other things to investigate as well.
Investigation?
A mory flashed across Mu Yuchen’s mind as he rembered Mu Tangchuan telling Zhuang Shurong to hand him a folder that consisted of information regarding what happened six years ago/ However, because he was busy with what happened to Mu Lingshi and Ah Mo, he did not have the ti to look through it. Instead, he had told Xi Xiaye to put it in the study room.
“Gu Qiwu didn’t go in and see Miss Lingshi. Chief Mu left very late as well.”
Mu Yuchen went quiet for a mont. “Got it. I probably won’t be going to the office in the next two days, so make the necessary arrangents and postpone the etings to next week. Besides, take a look into what happened to Ms. Ji’s store.”
“Yes, Master!”
...
Li Si took his leave after a short stay.
Xi Xiaye was not sure how long she had been asleep, but she had a headache as she struggled to open her eyes. She could hear the sound of papers being flipped near her.
She turned over and saw her man busy working on the sofa.
Xi Xiaye stared at him for a long while as Mu Yuchen stayed focused. He flipped a page and glanced over at her direction before he finally realized that the little woman had woken up and was watching him quietly.
“You’re up? Do you want so water? Are you feeling better now?” He put the docunts down and quickly went over with a glass of water.
After Xi Xiaye drank so water, she looked much better than before though she still looked pale. “I’m fine. I feel better now after so sleep. What ti is it now?”
“Half-past twelve. I made so porridge for you. Have so, alright?” Mu Yuchen put a hand on her forehead and was relieved to find that her fever had gone down.
Xi Xiaye suddenly felt her empty stomach, so she quickly nodded.
“I’ll put on a new cooling patch for you. Just stay at ho and rest for now. I’ve called Uncle Lan, and we’ll go visit Grandpa when you’re better.”
“Grandpa called?” Xi Xiaye coughed several tis after she asked.
“Nope, but Father did. Xi Xinyi went to University A yesterday, and Mother got her to stay over for dinner.” Mu Yuchen’s expression was calm. He rembered his conversation with Han Yifeng in New York. It was about ti for him to et Xi Xinyi.
“Xi Xinyi? Did Mother get her to stay for dinner?” Xi Xiaye sat up. Mu Yuchen quickly grabbed a coat and put it over her shoulders before gently holding her up.
“I can walk on my own...” Xi Xiaye wrapped her arms around his shoulders before being able to stand properly.
“I don’t mind you relying on more.” Mu Yuchen looked at her and smiled. “I feel like it’s been so ti since I last gave you a good hug.”
“You just did when we were on the long path on the Western fields. Am I getting heavier? Will you abandon if I go out of shape?”
“We’ve been married for almost two years. Sadly, you hardly put on weight. No matter what you beco, you’ll always be my one and only goddess, okay?”
She felt her heart warm up at his words. She smiled and dove into his chest, greedily longing for his scent. “Mr. Mu, I’m going to take you for myself forever. No other woman will be able to see how good you are.”
The nicer he was to her, the more she could not help loving him to the point that she would feel anxious whenever there was a tiny speck of uneasy elent. She did not care how much feelings were involved anymore. She just knew that she could never leave him again...
He smiled and stopped suddenly to look at her silky, long hair and hug her tightly, nearly rging her into him.
“I’ll always be yours,” he said.
Had he not just been waiting for her after so many years?
“The ti spent with you are my happiest monts ever. You’ll never know how blessed I feel when I see the person beside whenever I wake up. I’m so glad that I t you, Mr. Mu...”
“Really?” He felt really happy as he put on a genuine smile. “Then, latch onto with all your might.”
Xi Xiaye was touched as she could feel the tears welling up in her eyes...
...
“Boss, Doris has replied!”
In the sa beautiful afternoon, in the Gu residence, on the balcony of the study room, Gu Qiwu was standing by the railings and enjoying so tea as he gazed out at the flowers in the garden down below. All of a sudden, Ah Yong rushed in and inford him about the news.
Although Ah Yong tried to lower his voice, it still echoed over the tiny, open balcony...
