1051 I“m Begging You! 1
Gu Lingsha was obviously unhappy that Xi Xiaye had pulled such a shady trick on her. These past two days, the staff from the Materials Departnt kept calling her to ask about the situation on the materials.
That evening, Gu Lingsha had finally finished organizing the piled up docunts when Secretary Qin knocked to enter.
“Manager Gu, Manager Lee from the Materials Departnt called again to rush us. That batch of materials can only last till the day after tomorrow at most. If we still can’t get the materials, then I’m afraid we’ll have to put the work on hold. The people from the governnt might be coming soon for an inspection too. CEO Qi especially reminded us that we must show them our best selves,” Secretary Qin reported in panic.
After she was defeated at Xi Xiaye’s a few days ago, Gu Lingsha had been extrely upset. She had been asking around, but no one could provide such a huge amount of stock. In fact, it was also the rainy season on the southwest, hence the transporting of the materials itself would have been a problem. Otherwise, she would not have asked Hua Heng for the materials. She also would not have thought that Xi Xiaye would do sothing to it!
Gu Lingsha slamd the docunt hard onto the table, feeling frustrated. “Stop rushing every few days. Tell them all to calm down. I’ll resolve the whole materials problem soon.”
“But Manager Gu...”
“Go! Stop being long-winded!”
Secretary Qin left, feeling a little terrified.
Gu Lingsha combed through her hair a little defeatedly. She thought about it for a long while, and then finally could not help but pick up her phone to make a call.
Yep, she was calling Qi Lei.
When he had a good look at who was calling, Qi Lei had just returned from City B and was on the way back to the Grand Lakes Villa area.
“Master Qi, it’s a call from Manager Gu!” Because he thought that Qi Lei was too engrossed in the scenery outside the car window, Yang Sheng gave him a nudge.
Narrowing his eyes, Qi Lei turned over and picked up his phone before hanging up imdiately and switching his phone off.
“Have dinner here tonight. We still have to arrange so of the materials. I’ve got a morning eting tomorrow, and I don’t want those people to find fault with again,” Qi Lei calmly said, ignoring the phone call.
Nodding, Yang Sheng silently set the docunts aside and put them into his briefcase as he said, “Master Qi, VP Wang’s Butler Xu from the Hai Tian Villa is quite good. His craftsmanship is quite skillful too. In fact, he was by VP Wang’s side for many years. How about we get him to co over and take care of you? You forget to eat once you get too wrapped up in your work. Be careful not to overwork yourself,” Yang Sheng said in concern as he glanced at Qi Lei for permission.
Upon hearing that, Qi Lei fell silent for a bit and finally nodded in agreent. “You’ve been recomnding him to quite a bit all the while. Since Butler Xu’s quite good, get him to co over and bring a servant or two too. The house’s too empty, and there are many things that require handling too.”
Qi Lei was certainly relieved. He had not been willing to let others intrude into his personal space before this, yet over ti, he had beco more open, especially since his career was slowly picking up in recent tis. Furthermore, he had been progressing well and was not as sluggish as before.
When he heard Qi Lei’s response, Yang Sheng was surprised. He stared at Qi Lei in bewildernt as if he was looking at an alien.
Qi Lei responded to his shocked expression with a cold glare. “What expression is that? Is sothing wrong?”
Upon hearing that, Yang Sheng suddenly smiled and said cheerfully, “Nothing! Nothing! I just find that you’ve been doing well recently, Master Qi. It’s like you’ve beco much more cheerful too. If VP Wang could see this, she would definitely be very happy!”
“She won’t see it anymore!” Qi Lei suddenly sighed, then silently turned to look out of the window again. “When work’s more stable, I’ll go visit her. I’ll tell her about all my hard work. I’m sure she’d be very happy.”
“Master Qi, if you get VP Wang a daughter-in-law, I’m sure she’d be even happier! Master Qi, don’t you think that CEO Sun’s heiress daughter that you t on the trip, Sun Jing, is quite a woman? She’s elegant and magnanimous without losing her quick-witted charm. She’s practically a great wife candidate! In fact, I can see that she’s quite into you! There’s also Miss Fang who’s already an entrepreneur at such a young age. Even though she’s a little older than you, you know how the saying goes: ‘a wife three years older than the husband guarantees a richer life’,” Yang Sheng imdiately started to ramble on and on.
“A richer life? How about I imdiately help you matchmake and get soone for you to be their son-in-law?” Yang Sheng had not finished when Qi Lei shot him a sinister look.
Yang Sheng then stopped, not daring to utter another sound.
The car very quickly drove into the Grand Lakes VIlla area while the sky had already darkened outside right now. Both sides of the cented path were already lit with rows of streetlights.
They drove through the bent trail, then the car stopped at the entrance of a villa.
Before Qi Lei got down from the car, Yang Sheng’s surprised voice ca through. “Master Qi, look, isn’t that Manager Gu?”
Qi Lei looked up subconsciously. Underneath the streetlight before his door, Gu Lingsha was standing there quietly with her handbag in her hand. When she saw the car headlights, she glanced up towards them too.
“Why is she here?” Qi Lei frowned and muttered.
Yang Sheng recalled that Qi Lei had just hung up on her call earlier, so he replied, “There’s probably sothing urgent.”
“She’s got quite a source to know that I’d be back today!” Qi Lei said, then pushed the door open to get down before Yang Sheng followed.
When Gu Lingsha saw Qi Lei, she quickly went up to him anxiously. “Lei, you’re back!”
“Manager Gu!” Yang Sheng greeted her politely.
“It’s so late. Why are you here?” Qi Lei squinted at Gu Lingsha and then said coldly as he took out his keys.
“I’ve got sothing urgent to talk to you about!” Gu Lingsha looked slightly tense. She could not bother much as she held back the anxiety in her heart and looked at him silently.
Upon seeing Gu Lingsha so uptight, Qi Lei paused and looked at her to ask uninterestedly, “Is it a work matter or a private matter? If it’s personal, I’ve got nothing to say. If it’s work, then wait till I get to work tomorrow. I’m tired.”
“No, Qi Lei, I need to talk to you about it today. The project can’t wait. Please let in and let’s talk first. I think you won’t just let stand here and beg you, will you?”
