Chapter 40

"We did it! It worked!"

"Alright! Let's take the Saint with us!"

Reina, wrapped in pink smoke, collapsed to the ground.

The drug they bought from a black market dealer in the back alley was a blend of aphrodisiac and sleeping potion.

Even the Saint, if she inhaled this, would beco intoxicated, unable to resist, and reduced to a promiscuous woman who would spread her legs for anyone.

The n let out cheers as they erged one by one from the shadows.

"Hah! The Saint was easier than I thought! I'm gonna show up all those fools who mocked for being a fallen noble!"

"Hey! I get to go first, rember?!"

"We're all sharing this woman, right? She's the most luxurious whore ever!"

The n, sneering lewdly, slowly approached Reina.

Wriggling their hands obscenely, they reached out toward the beautiful girl, now like a fish on a cutting board.

"Wait!"

But then, a man's voice echoed behind the school building.

The one who gallantly descended was the blond nobleman... Eric Seincle, who had been waiting here in advance.

"Wha...!?"

"W-Why is Prince Eric here!?"

Faced with the sudden appearance of the Crown Prince, the n were left dumbfounded.

Why was Eric here?

Their faces twisted in panic, they looked at each other, unsure what to do.

"That's far enough! I won't allow you to lay a single finger on her!"

"Tch... If it cos to this...!"

"Yeah, get him!"

Normally, they would never think of raising a fist against the Crown Prince.

But perhaps it was like a cornered rat biting a cat.

The mont it was discovered they tried to assault the Saint, their fate was sealed.

Since it was already over for them, they gave in to despair.

"As long as we make the Saint ours, everything will be fine! Who cares about the Crown Prince!"

"I don't care if he's royalty! Get him!"

"Tch... What fools! I'll punish you myself!"

Eric punched, kicked, and threw the n who lunged at him.

As part of his royal education, Eric had learned self-defense, and these thugs were no match for him.

Eric took them down one after another.

"Alright, just a little more...!"

He was almost done subduing them.

Eric was confident of victory... but then, a radiant flash of light shot through the back of the school building.

"Huh...?"

"Eh...?"

Eric and the n all turned their eyes toward the source of the light.

Despite being blindingly bright, the light was strangely soft and didn't burn their eyes.

"Good grief... Is this what it ans to be hopeless..."

Enveloped in light and floating slightly above the ground was Reina, who should have been unconscious from the drug.

Reina was floating, her skirt fluttering, wrapped in a pillar of light that reached toward the heavens.

"T-The Saint..."

Seeing her ethereal form, one of the n who had tried to attack Reina muttered.

Though they had intended to defile a beautiful maiden... for the first ti, they realized she truly was the Saint.

Realizing they had laid hands on soone untouchable, their faces turned deathly pale.

"R-Reina..."

Eric wore the sa stunned expression.

He had planned to appear like a hero and rescue Reina.

He imagined Reina blushing and giving him a lting, exquisite smile.

That was the future he had envisioned.

(But... for soone like , a re nobody, to save Reina, the Saint... it was just a fantasy...)

Reina didn't need anyone's help.

She was the Saint, a being protected by the heavens.

"It seems you all need to be punished...'Angel Summon'"

Wrapped in light, Reina raised her right hand.

Then... using the pillar of light as a staircase, sothing with white wings on its back descended from the sky to the earth.

That being was unmistakably...

'Kuma―'

""""A bear!?""""

Eric and the assailants shouted in unison.

What descended from the heavens, clad in majestic armor and bearing white wings... was a bear.
