Marianne Liatrey suddenly collapsed, foaming at the mouth.
Seeing the final boss faint like that left Clael completely stunned.
(Why... why did she faint just from seeing my face?)
Marianne was the incarnation of the Demon King.
She used the power of Charm to deceive the academy's students and turn them into pawns to throw at Reina.
The humans who had beco the witch's minions weren't just students—even teachers were among them.
Since she seed to be crouching in pain, Clael had cautiously called out to her... but the result was completely unexpected.
The mont Clael spoke, Marianne fainted with a look like she'd seen a monster.
"I can't just leave her like this... For now, I'll take her to the infirmary..."
"Bear!"

Clael felt a tap on his shoulder.
When he turned around, standing there was a muscular angel with the face of a bear plushie.
The bear gave a thumbs-up and a firm nod, then princess-carried Marianne and walked off sowhere.
Once again, Clael froze at the sudden turn of events... but after standing there for a while, his understanding finally caught up.
"Ah... I see, he took her to the infirmary in my place...?"
That had to be it.
At this point, neither Reina nor the angel likely knew that she was a witch, so they wouldn't take her to a secluded place to finish her off.
"Umm... I guess it's fine to leave it to him..."

"Reina?"
Reina was walking down the hallway toward him.
She gave Clael her usual gentle smile.
"Do you have so business with the Student Council room, perhaps?"

"She's the new girl, right? The one who gave a speech at the entrance ceremony."
"Yes... She collapsed here just a mont ago. Could it be she's not feeling well?"

Reina tilted her head slightly.
It was Reina's usual expression—pure and without deceit.
It didn't seem like Reina had realized Marianne was a witch and attacked her.
(Was she just feeling unwell by coincidence? Even if she's a witch, her body is human. She could have low blood pressure or sothing...)
"Are you done with work already, Lord Clael? I have the day off from holy duties today..."
"Ah... yes, I suppose so."
Reina looked up at him with searching eyes.
It was her usual habit when she wanted to say sothing but was holding back.
Clael gave a wry smile and said the words he figured Reina wanted to hear.
"I don't mind. Shall we have dinner sowhere on the way back?"
"Yes!"
Reina responded with a joyful, radiant voice.
Her face was beaming with happiness, as if she couldn't contain her delight.
If Reina had been a dog, her tail would've been wagging wildly behind her.
"Recently, a classmate told about a wonderful restaurant! They serve traditional Eastern cuisine!"
"That sounds lovely... I'll finish up the rest of my work quickly, so please wait for . Also..."
Should he go check on Marianne, who had probably been taken to the infirmary?
He didn't really owe her anything... but maybe, as a teacher, he should fulfill his duty.
"I don't think that's necessary."

Overwheld by a mysterious pressure, Clael nodded.

He shook his head to push thoughts of Marianne away and turned his eyes to the docunts in his hand.
"Well then, I have so business in the Student Council room."
"I'll be waiting at the front gate! See you soon!"
"Yes. See you later."
Watching Reina's smiling face as she left, Clael decided to quickly finish the rest of his work.
He worked for the sake of his dinner with Reina, doing his best not to think about the final boss known as Marianne Liatrey.
